Superb location. Walking distance to centre, Beside China town and Gay village, 5 min to railway station and to Piccadily Gardens, where all public transport meets. Bus to airport in front of the hotel every 10 min. Free turist bus on the same station. 3 great pubs just across the street. New mattresses, very comfortable. Great breakfest.

The 3 elevators. When the hotel is full, there could be, expecialy in the morning, more than 5 min waiting time for the elevator. Better to stay somwhere on the lower floor and use stairs. The distance to the famous Canal Street in Gay Village is only 150m. It's loud there, expecialy on weekends - till 4am. It's better to have the room facing other side.

The property is in an amazing location and right in the heart of Manchester. although busy the staff where exceptional and helped with all of our queries! They allowed us to store baggage the next day and helped us with Taxi’s. The rooms where large and very comfortable.

Hard to spot from the outside (we walked past it twice) and only had one person on the check in desk with a large queue. The person working was amazing though and did their best.

It just gets better and better with each stay . We travel but like going to concerts so this was the 4th time we stayed here this year. I have a walking stick and every time email them, the staff go out of their way to help . Reply within a few hours and most importantly, they stand by what they promise. Yes its a little more expensive but here you really do get what you pay for, They have the best staff out there , the rooms are spotless and the breakfast is amazing . I do not even check other hotels now when i go to Manchester , this is the one for me. The night before i stayed in Liverpool, now theres an interesting review comin.

there really is nothing to complain about . I love having a good moan but cant find anything here to maon about.

clean, bed was comfortable, check out was fast

I over paid for this hotel. The price went down at the last minute a day before my check in date for an even higher room type (executive room) before but I was beyond the free cancel period already so I had no choice. I checked in at around midnight and asked if they could assign me a room with bath tub and they said I had to pay 25 pounds more to go to an executive room… while that room was now going for 20 pounds less than what I had originally paid for! 🤯 I was too tired from my travel to discuss further with the receptionist but if you think this hotel would go above and beyond for their customers… they don’t.

What’s not to like? The location is excellent, was under ten minute walk from train station, metrolink down the road, near all shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed for two nights and got everywhere we needed to go easily, great distance to all main districts. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely welcoming lady (didn’t get her name, possibly management with dark hair) we were able to check in early, other lady on reception that actually checked us in was equally as lovely. The whole hotel, from reception, bar, breakfast area to rooms was super clean. Room was lovely, modern with plenty of room. Comfy beds, lovely shower. Had requested a nice view, which had been noted and mentioned at check in. On our first morning I asked for some help with getting to a certain point of interest and the two lady’s on reception helped me no problem. Had breakfast today (our second day) and it was gorgeous. Plenty to choose from, cooked well and topped up nothing running out. Lady who seemed to be in charge at breakfast was very welcoming and friendly. Had a drink in the bar on the second evening and both bar staff we dealt with were lovely. There was a ice machine in the corridor which was helpful 😀 A really lovely stay and will most definitely stay again . Thank you

There isn’t anything to dislike but a couple of things to mention. The air con switch’s itself off after a certain amount of time, can get rather warm and likewise if you want to turn it off I couldn’t. On our first evening when we returned to chill, there were hardly any tv channels on the tv, rang reception and received a call to say would be looked at the following morning. I mentioned it twice again the following day and still no one came to look. Eventually on second night I was offered a room move, but at 9pm it was a bit late for that when leaving the following morning. Was just slightly frustrating as I had a child. I wouldn’t let this affect my scoring though as we really loved our stay. just thought it should be mentioned.

If there's one word to encapsulate my experience at Rate Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre, it's 'delightful'. Nestled in a prime location, it made our excursions around the city an absolute breeze. The hotel exudes cleanliness, a testament to their commendable housekeeping team. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the reception staff, setting a welcoming tone for our entire stay. Overall, Rate Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre stands as a beacon of hospitality and comfort. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers, with the slight caveat about checking the AC during the warmer months.

However, there was a slight hiccup during our visit. The air conditioning in both of our rooms seemed to struggle, failing to provide the cool relief we'd hoped for after long days out in the city. It's a minor setback in an otherwise stellar experience, but I believe it's worth addressing to perfect the guest experience.

The hotel was modern and clean. Rooms were big and beds very comfortable. The best part was the staff: I thought my booking did not include breakfast, and I only realized it did when I self checked out. We didn't have time to have a sit down breakfast but still went to see if we could grab something to eat on our way out. We ended up going to the bar, not the breakfast room, and there was a staff member there, sitting down working on her PC, who immediately noticed us looking around and offered help. After explaining our situation, she went to the breakfast room and very neatly packed us some basic snacks - fruit, cake, yogurt and croissants. She stopped whatever she was doing to serve us and for this reason I giving this stay experience the highest rating.

Nothing.

Great central location. Rooms very spacious, super clean, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of choice, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Only reason not full marks on facilities was that on Booking.com it said the hotel has a carpark, they actually don’t - there is an NCP carpark behind it - however it’s quite expensive for 24 hours, so if you’ve a couple of nights stay, expect to add another £60 onto your trip. Our room was on the 11th floor… it had a large door that opened like a door with only small rubber stopper on the ground and ceiling which were both wobbly, and there was no safety glass or safety bars, essentially an 11 storey drop to the road below if you were to go out of it! Not ideal for young families, would suggest a more robust safety feature.
