I felt really welcome by the very friendly Portuguese people, the man with the Rastafari hair in the bar, was very polite, and helpful - he prepared me a ginger tea on my arrival, to help out with my upset stomach issues. The lady at the Portuguese lady ( Madalena )at the Reception was very friendly, and professionally polite, when I requested an earlier check in, as I arrived at 12. She managed to get us a room in the 7 floor ( the room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location is very central, closed to all the shops, and. Me and my partner, will definitely come back to this Motel one next time we travel to Manchester. Really nice place, atmosphere, and the hotel is beautifully decorated with modern style, and breakfast buffet is also very good too. Countless reasons to highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Manchester.

This place is a little gem and located in central Manchester just off St Peters square. Its only a few minutes walk to Piccadilly gardens and the shopping areas. The hotel including my room was kept very clean and provided all the services I required for a lovely stay, I will probably stay here again in the future.

Breakfast was abit expensive at £10. 50 per day for a continental breakfast, so i decided to eat out instead.

Great central location. Modern yet cosy interiors. The room was great too, bed really comfortable and plenty of space.

Only thing to flag was I put in an accessible room when no need for one. No real issue, but meant I didn’t actually have as much space as I would’ve liked around the sink area (there were two - one was lowered specially for someone in a wheelchair and had the extra space, the other was higher but no space around it whatsoever). Also, if I’m being picky, breakfast could have had a little more hot selection as there were only boiled eggs available. But what was there was very tasty and good quality!

Motel One St. Peter's Square is a very conveniently located, clean and new hotel. We particularly liked the location near public transport, the main universities, the convention center and the city center. St. Peter's Square is a pleasant and newly developed square, with lots of infrastructure and the main public library just across, and food and shopping all within easy walking distance. The staff was very attentive, and everything was spotless, from the breakfast area to the room. The three lifts provide a fast access to the upper floors, and the rooms are small but well appointed. It may be a bit noisy from the outside if your window faces the square, so make sure to book accordingly. Great design throughout (they have a book theme that goes with the library across the square). Check-in and check-out was very friendly and efficient. Definitely to be recommended!

Almost nothing. The breakfast is continental, not British, but that is clearly stated. My colleagues told me that the rooms facing the square (mine was towards the back) let in a lot of street noise. The WLAN signal could be a bit stronger in my room. One evening there was a strong cannabis smell in my room corridor, but when I returned later cleaning staff had used some room deodorant to neutralize it. Depending on rates the hotel can be a bit more expensive than others in the city, but that is to be expected in view of its location.

The staff are all lovely, hardworking, friendly without being intrusive or overbearing! I like to be greeted etc but I don’t like having to pass reception ten times a day and greet back repeatedly! I’m not unfriendly but I’m a tired person often want to be left alone and have a real, natural smile exchange when it’s genuine, which they all are! More relaxing being left alone and knowing they are there and you don’t have to pass reception as such once checked in. It feels very safe with keycard to use the lift up to floors and they respect when you don’t want a cleaning service! Which I don’t every day as I struggle to sleep. So prefer a lie in and they are very quiet when the sign is hung but don’t need to be as quiet as that! For their own comfort! Good restocks on milk etc and will give enough when you need more, without making you feel like you’re being greedy as some other hotels have made me feel! The bar is comfortable, although I don’t drink! It was very quiet and the window glazing was good. It’s important for the staff not to be overworked, not just for their sakes, but as a traveller, it is contributing to a nice relaxing vibe! The area feels and is very safe and pleasant, including coffee shops, restaurants and bars on the close by pavement. Obviously at 2 am it can get noisy in a city centre but it’s only a few passers by who’ve drank a bit too much and cannot be avoided anywhere. Many staff do not have full English, but I actually prefer this as they are quietly working rather than pressure to gab as we Mancs say! Great overall and would certainly return as it’s actually a really good place to stay and I’m sort of fussy! It’s not all about the room for me, it’s quiet with staff who just give of themselves without fuss and also thank you very much for allowing a slight delay in my departure as I struggle a lot with sleep and needed to pack slowly due to my condition and I didn’t feel stressed like I usually would! I will be back x

I would prefer coffee tea mugs rather than paper, more eco friendly as well as nicer to use and safer. Some shampoo as well as hand and body wash, I need my own conditioner but usually find these items too!

Not the first time we have stayed in a motel one hotel, but it was the first time in the St Peter's Square one. Rooms are always clean, tidy, and spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable. What made our stay in this particular motel one location more satisfying than the others was the young lady, Chloe, on reception who checked us in. She was very professional and polite and made us feel very welcome. She took time to have a chat and a laugh with us. Chloe also checked us out and was again fantastic. We had another good chat and a laugh. Chloe is a credit to the hotel and the motel one chain.

Excellent budget type hotel in a super location in central Manchester. The hotel was 5 minutes walk from the Manchester Central Conference Centre which we were attending, but also close to the area for sight seeing and night life. Rooms are on the smaller side, but still totally adequate and very comfortable and clean. Lovely bedding and towels, and even a hairdryer in the room. Staff were also great. We did not have breakfast. Not sure if they serve food, but loads of eating places right outside the door, so not required. All in all, a very good stay and we will be staying again when next in Manchester. Beats the normal budget hotels like Travelodge, Ibis and Premier Inn.

This was my second stay at Motel One in St Peter's Square and I had booked rooms for myself and four female friends. The staff were delightful, as always. The beds are superbly comfortable and the cleanliness superb. What I really like about this hotel also is the lounge/bar area which is big, comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs and nicely decorated and a lone female traveller would feel especially safe and comfortable here. Also, the hotel's central location, in Manchester's best square and just a short, level walk or free shuttle bus ride from Piccadilly station, could not be better. We didn't try the breakfast, preferring to try the toasties at the Black Sheep coffee bar next door.

Although paper cups included in the room's tea station probably saves on washing up, as a long distance traveller in dire need of a cup of tea, I would much prefer there to be real crockery cups.

Location, Decor, Friendly and helpful Staff

We had a disabled adapted room for some reason which was fine except for the bathroom door was very difficult to open / shut, the shower leaked a bit from the hose and wasn’t very powerful. The shower screen wasn’t effective and had screws missing. The shower waste grill only had one screw out of four and was working loose, which I discovered after standing on it, not too comfortable! Also it would be really useful to have a power socket at a lower height (as well as the mirror) so that the hair dryer could be used whilst sitting down.
