The room was lovely and the facilities were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are returning late at night to this accommodation on your own, not in a safe area, there were a lot of drunk and aggressive people walking around.

The food in the pub downstairs was delicious and there was a great selection of drinks. Upstairs the rooms were basic, but well executed. Beds were really comfortable. Everything you need for just a good nights sleep. Highlight was the staff, who were welcoming, charming and helpful. Made the stay just that bit better having stuff so friendly. Location was fantastic also, 10 minute walk to Piccadilly station.

Crown and Anchor is great little pub with rooms above with shared bathrooms - the rooms are small, cheap and functional, essentially nothing more than beds - but its superb location and value for money. Has parking within 1min (£15 a night), great pub and staff, breakfast is not included but guests get 25% off and the sausage/egg ciabatta and cup coffee is £7 and is absolutely superb. Pub has free pool table, good beers and shows sport, very busy!
The shared bathrooms are something you are signing up for if stay here - so you know upfront this is what you are getting and effectively 3 rooms share one toilet and shower. We never had a problem with access to the bathrooms - but you do have to troop down corridor to use these facilities. Possibly the biggest issue is noise - the doors banging, the people coming and going (and even the pub, although that didn't bother us), so think you have to expect some level of this in this type of accommodation

A really welcoming place to stay. Sandra was nice about checking me in very late after I was delayed. And the kitchen head went out of her way to make me a really good vegan breakfast even though it wasn't on the menu. Just genuinely warm people who seem to enjoy hospitality and do it well. Room and bathroom were spotless, hats off to the cleaners too! I like that you get a kettle and tea/coffee even though it's just a basic room. The building is about 200 years old and it's fun to stay in if you like that sort of thing (I do). The location in the Northern Quarter is great, right between the centre of town and the station.
Would have been nice to have a chair or table and/or hooks in the single room to put my things on.

Lovely bunch of staff and management. Very welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Got speaking with some locals. Place has just been revamped. It's nice and cosy. I booked a single room for one night, had a brilliant sleep in the nice, very comfortable bed. The mattress was lovely and think, like sleeping on a cloud. Grabbed a nice shower in the morning and felt very relaxed and home from home. I vist manchester for business quite frequently, and i normally used to stay in Britania hotels. But this place is a nice little gem in the heart of the city. I will definitely be booking again.
Couldn't find tv remote.

The location was brilliant - a 10-ish minute walk from Piccadilly train station and plenty of shops and what not nearby, so ideal for our group. The staff in the pub are very lovely and helpful, and the pub itself is nice and cosy with a relaxed atmosphere and has a good range of drinks. Our room was bigger than we expected so is great for 3 people. The beds were spaced out really well so you don't feel like you're sleeping on top of each other like you get in some hotels. We also loved having the little half-en-suite (shower and sink) to get changed and brush teeth in; the shared main bathroom with the toilet wasn't an issue for us, but it was nice to have a little place to get changed within our room instead of having to venture through the hallway each time. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We felt the price we paid was an absolute bargain, especially considering we booked quite late for a night with 50,000+ Green Day fans invading the city. Overall we were extremely happy and would definitely stay again!
The only real downside we found was noise. The pub itself wasn't an issue, but there must be a club or some other venue very nearby that's open stupidly late and the noise was bad from them until around 4-4:30am. We did expect a certain level of noise due to the location though so it wasn't as if it came as a shock, especially on a Friday night, but it maybe went on a little longer than we expected.

Great location (quieter than I expected). Room comfy and had everything I needed - the kettle was a nice touch but it would have been lovely to have one tea/coffee and a tiny milk provided or a note that you needed to bring your own on the booking. Alas, on the night I stayed there was no food available in the bar, but there were other locations nearby serving so it wasn't a problem. Everywhere was clean and tidy, good wifi, good tv, friendly staff. This was great value and I would stay here again!
Nothing negative at all at this price point!

Staff were absolutely brilliant, so helpful and friendly. Giving us tips on places to go, and having a good laugh with them. Special mention to Tiger and Lewis, but all of the staff were brilliant. Never got cleaners names but they also need mentioned
We knew it was above a bar which actually suited us and was never an issue. However, a bit of noise early in the morning from waste collections, road sweepers etc wasn't great for the morning after a few beers.

I came from Dublin to Manchester to see Janet Jackson. I was given the key to come in late at night after hours. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fab, clean and tidy with a lovely comfortable bed, duvet and two pillows. This is a wonderful, very good quality and very good value three star hotel. Very central and very quiet. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you.
Nothing at all. Everything was great and the staff were lovely.

The room was big, comfortable and well equipped. You even have a TV. The bathroom in my floor was very clean and really nice. It was much better than I expected. Near to the city centre, the gay village, amazing cafes places all around and a beautiful vintage shop. It’s also a 10 min walk to the bus station if you are visiting any other cities.
I can’t think of anything negative to say
