Anything that I can remember went well. My interactions with staff were helpful and informative. The hotel was even withing my walking distance from the pickup point for my tours. If I venture to Manchester in the future, I'd most definitely consider staying at the Ibis Styles Manchester Portland.
I wasn't able to access the outside laundry service (not within the hotel) as I'd planned. But that's mostly because I didn't know it was an outside service and I therefore didn't know to bring the password to let me download and install the app on my phone.

Great location. Walking distance to railway. Great check in, room wasn't ready but reception staff very polite and helpful. Fantastic breakfast better than some 4 star Hotels iv stayed in. Comfortable room everything was great. Quirky decorated. All clean.
Noisy air conditioning in room. Only one lift worked so full most time and had to wait a number of times to get in, eventually pressing to go up was the only way to get in. Staff disinterested when I asked how long had it been broke. Can hear through the walls. However, this would not put me off to stay here again.

The hotel was excellent, clean and in a great location. It was exceptionally comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff that I encountered were all lovely, polite and helpful.
The breakfast was rubbish. Buffet style with hot and cold options but the hot food had been sat around too long, was scarce and under quality in my opinion. I do have to say that I got the feeling the restaurant was perhaps leased out to someone else and not necessarily under the remit of the group so worth bearing in mind that it I may not be under the control of Ibis.

The room was comfortable, well equipped (including kettle), wifi worked well, the staff was helpful (we had some issue with breakfast but it was solved and we were rewarded with welcome drinks), breakfast was good, and the restaurant offers wide variety of foods in general. The location is fantastic.
The lifts (elevators) are easily the world’s slowest lifts (our room was on the 7th floor and it took a while to get there or back down). The walls are a bit thin and not well insulated, you hear almost everything both from the rooms next door and from outside.

The room looked great. As soon as we entered, I was more than happy with what I saw. It was big enough for what we needed, it seemed very clean. Have to mention that the bathroom was more than great. The location was also amazing - right in the center.
My girlfriend said that she did not sleep well. The pillows were too hard for her, she said adding that she woke up several times during the night. I, on the other hand, slept very well. Also, the price we paid was a little bit too high (in my opinion) for a three-star hotel. But the hotel itself looked great, smelled great, and was amazing in general.

Wast check in and held our luggage as we arrived early. Room was clean, well equipped and pretty comfy. towels were tiny, room was pretty compact (but you do expect that city centre) and everything worked. Bit of noise with people returning to their rooms but the hotel can’t control that eh? staff were a bit abrupt and miserable even when we tried to be friendly and engaging. final tip, avoid the food and drink for sale in the reception area. it is a total rip off. went to buy a can of beer (small) that they had clearly got out of a multipack and they wanted £4.
lift is very small and compact so a bit claustrophobic. staff could do with a moral booster as there were as welcoming as diahorria on a trampoline. apart from that, great.

This is a super funky hotel and I'd love to come back, I really didn't expect to have a such a lovely stay as I booked extremely last minute and didn't really know what I'd booked. Cindy at reception gave me the warmest welcome at the end of every day, it really made for such a warm and lovely stay! She was super helpful giving advice about getting around, where to go and how to get there. The room was super clean and had everything I needed. Thank you!
The bed sheets were a bit thin, but that's just my persona preferences. The road outside was a bit noisy but not too disturbing.

I loved everything about this hotel! The quirky decor is really fun. Umbrellas in the foyer, sunglasses on the porch, the sun with his hat on in the lift and the carpet with cobbles and leaves in the corridor outside the room! It's fantastic! However, about the rooms themselves. The twin mum and I stayed in was just the right size. Room 537 had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the TV was just the right size, and the coffee and tea making facilities were greatly appreciated after a 5 hr journey! The bathroom was lovely, mum finds baths impossible, so the shower was extremely important. And it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved that shower! 10 out of 10! Oh and the iron was very helpful too!! The staff were very friendly and checking in and out was nice and smooth. I needed an extra pillow and that was no trouble at all. The breakfast buffet in the morning was lovely, from full English to continental, vegetarian, and vegan. Oh, and gluten free. I can highly recommend The Ibis Styles, Portland Manchester. Mum and I had a fabulous time. Fantastic hotel, in an amazing vibrant city.
There was only one thing I was disappointed about, at the breakfast buffet, there was no Marmite. I love Marmite on my toast, I was a little sad tbh. Would I be allowed to bring my own next time?

I booked this for my daughter's birthday. The staff gave her nice dessert dish with 'Happy Birthday' with a few sweets. She loved it, she also received a birthday card. I thought this was a beautiful surprise, I didn't expect this. The staff were friendly and made the stay nice.
I did not like the train strike. I was so worried about her not making it there. I honestly thought I would be out of pocket, but my daughter and her boyfriend paid a pricey uber cab to get from Warrington to Ibis Styles Portland. Bit pricey for her especially for her birthday.

The location of the hotel is simply amazing. It is just a five minutes walk from the railway station, and all tourist attraction are accessible by foor or by free city bus. There are convenience stores, restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars around. Sainsbury's is two minutes away, and Pret is just across the road. The hotel is also pretty easy to find, it is located right on the main street. The hotel is pretty big. I was living on the third floor, and usually either took stairs (faster during 'rush hours') or a lift. The design of the hotel is very fun, I think it has a meteorological theme, and rooms on my floor represented stormy weather. It is a lot of fun to spot tiny interior details. In the room, there is big double bed with very comfy pillows. Kettle with tea bags, and two instant coffee options (regular and decaf) with milk pots. The room is very well-read, the bed light is more than sufficient for reading. The wardrobe is big, and it also had hairdryer. The bathroom is clean and spacious, with a shower room. Shampoo and soap are in the dispenser. Overall, I had a very good impression after staying there.
The window view is literally non-existing. My room was overlooking inner courtyard, which is basically a tiny space composed of concrete and pipes. At my first night, the hotel had a fire drill at 2.30 am. It was on for about two minutes, and then abruptly ceased. I had to wake up and go downstairs to check if everything was okay. The reception desk said that everything was fine, and I went back to sleep.
