From the moment my friend and I arrived - late and frustrated, due to the train strike, your reception staff took care of us. An early check in was no problem, and from memory, they even arranged for our bags to be taken to our room, while we had breakfast in the hotel cafe. The reception staff were warm, friendly and funny - and made us feel so welcome.

The staff member who served us in the hotel cafe was appalling. He corrected both our orders, asked us to move to another table (the place was empty), and had a terrible attitude. He took the shine off the welcome we'd been given by your reception staff.

Great accomodating and friendly staff! The room was clean and spacious. Identical to the photos provided by the hotel. Good design! Good distance from all the sights and city center. There are both stairs and lift which is great! We were lucky enough to have our room ready before the actual check in time! Thanks for making us feel cared for!

The glass door in the shower was a bit too short, so couldn't avoid water leaking onto the floor. But i guess it's just lack of design more than the hotel's issue. The hotel is on a slightly busy street, so can be noisy some times. But the windows were facing away from it, so it didn't bother us much personally.

Lovely hotel in great position for exploring-an interesting old building with character and individual design. I loved the parquet floors, high ceilings, quality furnishings, super comfy beds and bedding-fabulous shower and good toiletries. Its a friendly place, understated, easygoing.

Such a shame that the brasserie at 11am on saturday morning seemed so devoid of atmosphere. service was well meaning but so slow-not enough staff-full breakfast had items missing-it was just a bit lack lustre and odd.

Nice, clean, retro design, awesome helpful stuff, nice breakfast, 2 minutes from our office, 5 minutes from the city center. Big thanks to Will! We will definitely come back.

No fridge in rooms

The room was spacious and was beyond what I expected. The breakfast was made to order and the staff were very polite, helpful and attentive. The breakfast options are good and I was presented with customisable options. Perfect in checking for any allergies.

There was no room service option that I could find. They are happy for you to use local takeaways and app to be delivered. But most of the options that were available were the greasy unhealthily type.

The staff, they were so helpful, so ready to do anything to help make our stay special. Especially the man on reception who helped us with the car park, recommendations for bars, and anything else we should need. The manager was also extremely helpful and it was lovely that he took the time to chat to us on a quiet New Years Day night.

Nothing. It would have been good to have the option of having dinner/room service, but we understand the problem with sourcing chefs. The food was very good, it's just a shame there wasn't more. That being said the staff did everything they could to help us find somewhere to go, even googling how to get to certain places, where to get trams from and how long it would take, we couldn't have asked for more.

Loved almost everything. Room was huge, beautiful original features, huge bed, huge TV, massive bathroom. Everything was lovely and clean. The mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. And the room was quiet even though the location of the hotel is on quite a busy road. The staff were absolutely wonderful. And the food in the restaurant was devine.

No mirror near a plug socket to do my hair. No mirror to keep drinks and meds cool.

Lovely clean room on the third floor. Had complementary shower, hand wash and body lotion. Excellent location near Piccadilly train station, we went by car and parked in Dale street, hotel has an agreement where you can park for £10 per 24hrs as opposed to £18.

I like fresh air and the windows don’t open even slightly. I understand this is for safety reasons and I really don’t like the dryness of air conditioning, that’s just preferential choice.

The room was amazing, just as the pictures showed. Spacious, and gorgeous. The AC wasn’t working - which made it quite stuffy. However we did ask for a fan, and one was bought to us by house keeping. Location was central, quiet, and easy to get to the northern quarter. Friendly helpful staff. We had breakfast in her brasserie which was really good with a great server.

the history of the building was kept which makes it a great place to stay and feel like you stepped into the history of Manchester. The staff was superb, friendly and helpful as we forgot a charger they gave us one so we can charge our phones during our stay. Also great chat with one of the staff explaining a little about the history of the building and the city. As well as giving us some pointers which turned out to be spot on!

a downside was that we couldn’t open a window, however the airco made up for some cold air. Would have preferred fresh air though
