Booked this hotel as we called for a drink last year.and thought let’s try it. Rooms was amazing, definatly was not expecting the rooms to be this nice. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Can’t do enough for you. The bar is nice good atmosphere. Safe parking at the back also. We have stopped in Newcastle for the races many times now. And we have all said this hotel will be our go to hotel we book every year. It really has everything and more.

The one thing I’d say needed improvement was the breakfast. Not enough selection and bacon was very fatty. It filled a hole but definatly if this was sorted, this hotel would be perfect.

Some great things: - Plenty of teas and coffees available in room. - Wifi excellent. - Very clean and comfortable room. - All staff welcoming and friendly. - Great choice of breakfast. - I think I paid around £78/night ... very much worth the money for the room, breakfast, and friendly staff.

Some not so great things: - The parking is not great, I think normally it would fit most guests but if you are staying when they are fully booked (bank holiday weekend with weddings and football going on), it's hard to get a spot! - Very loud wedding outside room until about 1am (I think), not much can be helped because it is a wedding venue but maybe better sound proofing? Didn't bother me too much as I had been out with friends that evening and got back late; busy in restaurant most evenings; and fairly busy outside hotel. Not suitable for families, couples, or elderly really.

The location of this hotel was really useful. It's located on a busy and noisy part of Jesmond, especially at the weekend, but we were able to take a taxi directly outside to get into Newcastle. We also enjoyed having a drink outside the hotel bar on comfy chairs and umbrellas, by the main road, under which had a nice, busy atmosphere. The car park was full to the brim and we managed to park in the only remaining spot with an electric car charger - which was so great, to charge our car. We were blocked in though but the staff were helpful.

We stayed in July and the room was boiling hot! The noise of the road was also very loud but that was as to be expected with all the bars and restaurants. We had to open the windows but no aircon! We asked for our 2 rooms to be put close together but they were far away and on different floors. It's a big busy hotel with lots of rooms.

The room, reception and servicing of room was excellent. Car parking was also good. The location was also excellent lovely village feel in Jesmond plus good bus and metro rail links into Newcastle.

Breakfast was to be expected on Sunday with so many guests. Breakfast on Monday was as expected and excellent. However I did not expect to be offered the same lukewarm buffet breakfast on Tuesday as the coach party tour. I expected as an independent traveller to have had the same breakfast served similar to Monday as that is what is shown in the hotel bedrooms.

Great staff who assisted us to find an easy park (with our large van). Great pasta buffet and breakfast buffet put on for runners (Great North Run weekend). Bottles of water and bananas at reception for runners. About a 10 minute jog or 20 minute walk to the GNR start line. Lots of lovely pubs and restaurants nearby in Jesmond too. Even opened up on of their ground floor suites for runners to shower post race at no extra charge. Outstanding service. 10/10 would recommend if looking for somewhere to stay for GNR or a visit to Newcastle.

Nothing. Whole stay was exceptional.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome, after being lucky enough to get one of the hotel's parking spaces. I had no problem arranging a slightly later check-out for the next morning. The room was large, comfortable and well equipped, with little extras like biscuits and bottles of water. The bar meals were very good and generous portions. We stayed on a Friday evening when the weather was good, and a lot of people were sitting drinking outside this hotel and the others around it; there was a really pleasant buzz to the area. It felt smart enough but relaxed. The hotel is about a mile's walk from Jesmond Dene parkrun.

All good!

I was really worried on arrival seeing lots of middle aged chaps wearing gold pyjamas tops and gold shorts...STAG PARTY! I am a 60 plus lady who had requested a quiet room! I was there for a University reunion. Very alarming nights sleep loomed...but girls on reception were very sweet and reassuring and said I could shout at.pyjama men to keep it down and call security if need be. Room was spotless, lovely hospitality tray and I had the best night sleep! Breakfast staff were charming despite the fact I don't eat breakfast they let me take a croissant for when I eat later in the day. Parking was great. I am just a bit worried about those chaps in the gold pyjamas as I didn't notice them at Breakfast!! I hope they enjoyed their stag party and made it to the church on time! 😉

Nothing..true Geordie hospitality ..it's the best!!

The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower powerful. Everywhere was 'fit for purpose'. The location was good being only 7 mins walk to the Metro station, on a bus route into the city, and close to 3 supermarkets. Free car parking was good - I parked up for the week when I got there - I wouldn't have enjoyed the 'fight' for spaces I saw between 5 and 7 each evening.

I was disappointed not to have the "bathrobe and slippers" as advertised would be available in an Executive Double room. The carpet along the whole corridor to my toom [110] was dirty and badly stained. Twice guests were smoking in their tooms on the same corridor as myself. On both occasions I reported it to reception staff - not least because of the fire risk, but it appeared no action was taken. On another occasion someone was clearly smoking cannabis in their room and the smell was offensive and pungent ..... and it is illegal !!! Again, it appeared no action was taken.

When I arrived I had some concerns, the hotel is on a main road, with lots of bars, restaurants and hotels, once I went through the double doors of the hotel reception however, all of that was forgotten. I was greeted by Laura, a friendly, helpful and cheerful welcome. Any interaction with Laura was top notch. All the team were great, including the waiting staff in the bar and restaurant. The food was also superb! I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to book again.

My only feedback would be the menu is a little limited. I would perhaps look at expanding what you offer. That said, the quality of ingredients was great, food tasted wonderful, and service was also fab.

Well located within easy access to multiple places to eat. Easy to find. Close to local amenities

The property does have a lift, however this needs attention as it clearly has issues due to the 'if you go get stuck between floors ring this number" sign inside the lift. It also stopped working all together during out stay which is not ideal as someone who has mobility issues. Also the lift is tiny and I doubt a wheel chair user could use it due to its design. I feel this is the only let down of this hotel. The lift either needs replacing or regular maintenance.
