The Middlegate is a basic accommodation which is ideal for males walking the coastal path , don’t expect 5* luxury but the bed linen and towels were clean also the toilet and shower were of generous size and clean with a very good electric shower unit. The accommodation was fine for my needs on a walking holiday, free parking, right in the middle of town with a bus stop a few other pubs and cafes , chip shops all on the same street. Peter was a friendly and helpful host.

The host (peter) was fantastic, very friendly, exceptional customer service. The food was fantastic as well as the price of the drinks. Car parking was not an issue as there is a secure gated area which could fit 15 cars.

The whole building was very tired and needed up dating. If you want some where to use as a base that is cheap and serves a great breakfast and that is central to Pembrokeshire then this it. If you want some where like the Hilton hotels then forget it.

Nice british house with a traditional pub serving good food and beer, tidy rooms, convenient parking, Wifi works well. Peter is an excellent host, very friendly, with good humour. He gave us many great tips, what to see in the surroundings. One evening, we even experienced a little acoustic performance in the pub, performed by local artists. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Pembroke and the Pembrokeshire area are really to be recommended.

Great breakfast (full English), cost £10 per person and filled us up so much we didn't have to have lunch! Also, lovely host, he was very funny and helpful.

Unfortunately, there was no AC, and the room was often like a sauna, even with the windows open at night

Found the place easily as it was signposted on the roadsigns, which was nice. Peter, the host, I found to be very likeable. I wasn;t sure at first as he seemed a but full-on but I came to the conclusion that he's been locked down for so long he's gone stir crazy ( and drunk all the beer rather than pour it away lol). My initial reservations were soon dispelled, however and he and his wife, Hayley, were great hosts who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had all I needed. food was great. You won't get better for the price. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Not a lot, although the hotel could do with some tlc. On the whole though, I'd rather an old fashioned place to all these new fangled rooms these days.

Peter was an exceptional host, helped me with anything I need and was very flexible about the breakfast arrangements. Room was exactly as pictured, clean, tidy and comfortable, and had everything I needed. Bathroom of the single room was bigger than expected. Great breakfasts!

There were some wet spots on the carpet from underneath not sure why but it wasn't dirty. I could hear the old floor creaks above whenever there's movement.

Very friendly and helpful host. Sleeping quarters adequate/good.Breakfast very tasty. Off-street parking ultra-safe. Quiet. Peter the Landlord was amusing and highly informative.

Probably best to request a room well away from the bar area (which I had). Even that was quiet the nights I stayed. Bedroom a little cramped (but I wasn't entertaining). Shower took a little getting used to, but adequate once mastered.

We loved our stay at Middlegate Hotel! Hailey and Peter are friendly people and extremely helpful. We only stayed for 2 nights but the hotel's proximity to the castle made our bank holiday trip worth the time we spent travelling. There are a lot of great beaches and attractions around Pembroke and combining it with the hotel it was a great weekend. The twin room we stayed was clean and cozy and we were able to move the beds so I and my husband could sleep "In the same bed". The ensuite is small but it's all you need. The outside rear garden with sitting area was perfect after a full day of sailing and visiting remote beaches. And Peter's freshly cooked stakes joined by a cold beer were the best final of a beautiful day. Thank you very much for helping us having a great time after months of lockdown and bad weather! Hope to come back there soon.

The TV was fixed too high on the wall and you can't watch anything unless you stand up, but this didn't bother us much as we were too tired to watch TV. :)

Excellent location with ample free secure parking at the back of the hotel, behind an electric gate - helpful instructions given how to get there. I had a single room - all very clean and everything necessary provided, with sensible COVID precautions. Mattress was excellent (my back is fussy and this is usually my bugbear). Good value evening meal available. Didn't have the cooked breakfast, as needed to be away very early but the manager was kind enough to give me a packed breakfast instead. Good value.

Both the breakfast & the location were perfect. Large room,very comfortable bed.The location was ideal-your in the heart of where you need to be and surrounded by great scenery points and steeped in history.

Cant really say I particularly disliked anything.The hot water tap to the bath was difficult in terms of getting it to adjust in order to get the right temperature of hot water.Other than that I cannot come up with any faults(minor or major)
