The location was awesome set in the countryside of the hotel itself was old but with character, my room was spacious as was the shower room, bed was more than double, the staff was excellent, and went out of their way to accomdate. Special mention to Jo, who did a brilliant job with our breakfast, such a wonderful lady (hope you are there in 2024) it was a pleasure to meet her and the other staff members.

There's not really anything that I did not like and the only thing that I can think of is just a little freshening up of the rooms but apart from that everything to do with this hotel, staff, food was more than excellent.

The property is absolutely beautiful. The setting, the rooms, the bar and restaurant are all very well maintained and clean & tidy. The staff are all such a welcoming bunch of people, engaging, polite and a pleasure to interact with. Our room was, as usual, beautiful and my daughter was delighted by the cleaners lining up her teddy's on her bed (thank you again) we had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast both mornings, as always the food was delicious, well presented and very tasty. The bar staff, and Reece & Lucy specifically, are such a laugh and really bring a unique element of fun to the generally pleasant atmosphere. Thank you all again so much, can't wait to come again!

A bench by the back entrance to the hotel would be awesom for us dirty smokers, however the place is so wonderful it really doesn't subtract from anything.

I've stayed here before so I knew what I expected and was not disappointed. This is a well oiled machine. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and on both occasions I have stayed the bathrooms were exceptional with twin basins and a large rain shower.

The only unusual thing was that breakfast was treated rather like a bar meal in that you ordered a main course from a menu and that was what you got - no cereals, yoghurts, fruit etc. There was juice and tea/coffee and my meal came with toast but I had to ask for marmalade. The meal itself was excellent and I was happy enough, but it was unusual.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful, the accommodation well designed, clean and comfortable. The two suppers we had were 'good pub food' rather than exceptional. We did not have breakfast but appreciated the complimentary tea and filter coffee available during breakfast hours. The location was very good for our purposes, in a quiet setting and pleasant grounds.

The bed pillows were rather hard - more like foam cushions- so not the most comfortable to sleep on horizontally rather than sit in bed against. We were surprised to return in the first evening of our stay and find there had been no room service (bed-making etc) but it may have been an accidental omission since we had left quite late. Fortunately the hotel also had a room for us since, despite all the confirmation emails, reminders etc sent to us by Booking.com -which I was able to show them on my phone - thay had no record of it on their system. This is clearly something for Booking.com, rather than them to look into.

Room was very good, well-equipped and spacious - bathroom was very good - shower excellent. Courtesy tray was fine with extras available - staff were lovely. Breakfast was very good with plenty of coffee and juice. Had Sunday lunch there, with our family - Very good food in a well spaced dining room, with excellent service. Definitely recommend this, even if not staying in the Inn.

Bed was a bit firm and our room (no. 11) faced a busy road. Very difficult to get any air in as windows were well-insulated, with opening limited to very small crack. Fan provided in the room.

We love the refurbishment, both in the bar/restaurant and the rooms. The new menu is a much needed and refreshing change too.. a great selection now on offer... especially the cocktails!

The only thing that let your side down was the breakfast service. While we can't fault the cooked food at all, the service was really not that great. We went down for breakfast at 8AM on both mornings and felt that we were being rushed.. the server seemed to be more interested in clearing the coffee/tea, orange juice away well before service was finished. Felt like we couldn't ask for anything, because she wanted to get finished. The whole place has been revitalised, from it's appearance (love the new open-plan restaurant and furnishing) to the new decor and lovely menu and new staff. However, the Breakfast experience really spoiled what could have been a perfect stay.

Lovely Hotel excellent room and surrounding setting.

Problem with the menu everything had GARLIC added in the ingredients which is a shame - i am allergic which they coped with but gave me few very options to eat as contamination was a worry for me.. I would have expected the Chef to be able to cook all meals from scratch, but they obviously used a lot pre packaged pre prepared food items and struggled to do this. Anything that was Deep fried was off the menu as the fryer oil was contaminated by Garlic.

This wasn't the first time we have stayed at this hotel and it certainly will not be the last! The location is beautiful, the rooms are stunning and the beds are lovely and comfortable. The staff are fantastic and a great laugh. Despite being relatively close to a cross roads its very quiet and peaceful. We've always had a good night's sleep here. Breakfast is very tasty, although it's not the buffet style breakfast the food is cooked perfectly and very tasty! The shower is lush aswell! Being less able bodied I love the fact the shower isn't over a bath!

I couldn't find fault

The overall impression and layout of the Calverley Arms.

Minor point because the bathroom was quite big with plenty of towels, good quality shower gel/soap and efficient shower but I would have liked a bigger shelf in the bathroom to put my bits and pieces: comb, makeup. I appreciate there is nothing you can do about this, but my husband is not well and struggled with the stairs to get to our room. I liked the fact our room was the other end of the building from the restaurant and bar area.

The accommodation had recently been reformed and was lovely in the bar and lounge areas. The room was also very very nice, beautiful bathroom and comfortable bed.

The room was placed at the end of the hotel where a surrounding property played loud music! I could hear it in the room but didn't know where it was coming from. When I asked a member of staff about it his response was that the neighbours played loud music sometimes! This wasn't helpful for me because I had an early flight the next day and had to rise at 4.30 am. The music did stop around 10.30 so not too bad. I was also told the taxi would take cards for payment, but the taxi only took cash, causing me a problem of having to rush into the airport to use the machine and rush back out to pay and retrieve my suitcase. The hotel needs to give the correct information relating to this.
