We stayed in this hotel as was the middle point for our family to meet for a 83rd birthday celebration . The reception contacted us prior to look at our needs and were great helpings to plan the dinner and birthday celebration. Catrina helped me to access menus and pre plan meals before getting there she was great from reception. Brett the breakfast manger heard it was my mother’s birthday and booked us in the private room for dinner which was wonderful , very caring man . The staff who serves us came in with the cake and my mother was just so very happy . They were let by Marco the manager . We topped them extra as they were marvellous. Felt really well cared for . The rooms were clean and penhaligans shower gel and products just delightful . The swimming pool was so clean , the dry sauna was very nice Grounds lovely and the big house is nice too . We did not upgrade and were happy we Friday as most of the activity is not in the big house . The pool , bar, seating area etc is not in the big house so glad we didn’t do that . All in all wonderful .
The corridor was being painted so there was plastic on the floor but it’s winter guess and it had to be done sometime . I think if you provide free drink in the main foyer that would be good , water will do . You already have a water tap for drinking so to achieve this just provide cups and that will do next to the water tap . I often got thirsty and either had to go to the bar or to my room . There are so many lovely sitting books around and a free water station with cups would make a big difference .

we stayed at the beautiful estate manor house and upgraded for the suite. beautiful luxury room, like palace rooms, extra massive bed with 6 kingsize pillows, high quality furnitures, nespresso machine & tea /coffee supplies, massive bathroom, Penhaligons toiletries, twin sink, all villeroy bosch fixtures. proper posh manor house interior. our room was right in the middle of the mansion and we woke up to the amazing view of the well curated grounds. we had dinner at their tapas and view restaurant-excellent food. staff are all so polite and friendly, no tacky guests. serene surroundings, clean hotel, and peaceful nights sleep. we thouroughly enjoyed this place. will definitely come again. and will recommend tp everyone.

I thought the main reception space was excellent with a lovely bar and restaurant boasting lush views of the golf course. The staff were excellent and very well turned out with a friendly demeaned and very approachable. I also loved the toiletries and have now purchased some myself. The room service was excellent and the good very good too, especially the BREAKFAST which I must say was excellent all round!
I didn’t like the fact the advert seemed ever so slightly misleading (granted I should have also read the small print). Obviously depending on the room value will also depend on where you stay. Which is either the estate hotel or the golf club hotel. To me it wasn’t very obvious. Once I got over the embarrassment everything was ok! Haha Also the room was clean in the areas that you could see but behind cupboards and my hair dryer was very much in need of some TLC!

Everything really was just incredible. The grounds, setting, hotel, rooms, bar, food, resturant, cleanliness, relaxed happy atmoshphere, swimming pool/sauna, facilities, comfort of cosy rooms & beds, list truely goes on.. Staff were all so friendly, very professional but so warm, welcoming & happy with always. Perfect balance for being away where nothing seems too much trouble with a smile & a relaxed chat. We even got a knock on room door shortly after arriving & a welcome with some chocolate bars for my little one. Reception gave her some wordsearches etc & sustained my little ones in depth can talk for England onslaught all stay. Reception, bar, resturant you were all truely amazing, so thank you, definate pat on back all round. Hotel suits any occasion to stay, has a golf course & relaxed bar for after or just a quiet relaxed getaway. Great location for nearby Reading, surrounding villages, walks & attractions. Check out the vending machine, can even order flowers from to collect. Great value & stay, thank you, Already booked again so if considering booking - do - well worth it.
Wish i could think of something, can't, even the greatest critic the little one can't so said the journey to get there

Beautiful building and grounds The room had lovely toiletries, big TV, really nice tea and coffee and a lovely view
I would have appreciated decaf tea in the room, and a little fridge to put my drinks in since it was a warm day. A bottle of water for the kettle would have been nice too. Major issue for me was that the place was "cashless", taking away my right to pay how I want to. I was staying away for business and couldn't buy anything personal for me since they didn't accept cash.

We were met by marvellous reception staff. They were friendly and helpful. We felt that they couldn’t do enough for us. The grounds and setting are lovely The dinner menu looked lovely but we had arranged to eat out. One of the reception staff rushed to help me when they noticed that I was struggling with my luggage.
The cooked breakfast was poor. The food from the hot-plate was, at best, lukewarm. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast time were not coping well with the workload. They could do with some more heads. There’s was little storage in out room.

Room was fine; a twin-bed room on the ground floor. The pool was excellent, albeit a bit busy on the Saturday afternoon when we used it. Sunday morning breakfast was very good and we encountered an exceptionally helpful member of staff who found us a quiet table. Later a very helpful young member of staff (he was c20 years) produced a free cup of coffee before we left which was greatly appreciated. There was a real sense of space in the interior public areas and very pleasant places to sit outside.
This will sound very picky in the context of what I hope will be seen as a positive review, but ... your internal signage could be improved. For example, it was not immediately clear where the pool was located. You could put this information in the lift and in the lobby area. And, at breakfast, if you are going to offer grilled tomatoes, it would be sensible actually to grill them. The ones that we had were simply warm!

We loved staying here! We came to spend the bank holidays weekend out of London in the countryside and booked this hotel very last minute. We stayed at Wellington, the far building but the staff was always helped us and gave us a ride. The room was quite big and we like it was surrounded by nature. Breakfast was generous and well served. Swimming pool was great, and the bar and restaurant were also nice. Overall the hotel areas were very modern. The Mansion is extremely nice as well. The staff was great. Kelly in particular went the extra mile, super friendly, helpful, nice with the kids. Was nice that she was always around and always giving nice advice and helping in everything we needed. Brandon was also very helpful and accomodated us in a super nice table at the restaurant for our special milestone celebration. I would reccomend to have a kids play area/room to make it outstanding for familias. We would love to come back!!!

The staff specifically. All very nice, welcoming and friendly, most than in other places. We had a problem with a previous hotel (they accepted pets, but not cats) and they called us on the same day to tell us to leave our cat home, but we would be treated well. However, if our cat is not welcome, neither are we. So in our journey down to London, we called De Vere Wokefield estate explained our problem and they treated us wonderfully. It’s, without a doubt, our best experience in a hotel ever. And I would recommend this hotel, not just because we had a great time there, but also because its humanity
Every was amazing.

Room , breakfast and staff all very good
The evening meal in the restaurant was not up to the expected standard. When asked about a drink we requested a Kir, the waitress didn't know what it was and told us the bar could only make what was on the drinks list. I wanted a steak but it could only be cooked medium, despite the menu stating it was cooked to order on a charcoal grill ( which was actually a plancha ) apparently it was 'tenderized in a water bath' - Code for out of the freezer ? I then ordered a reasonably expensive wine which just appeared on our table already open with no offer to taste it, along with a dirty glass. I would not have expected that type of service in any restaurant. My wife's main course was supposed to be accompanied by a sauce which was insufficient.
