We booked The Lawn Hotel but actually stayed next in the hotel next door Parkside International that I have stayed in a few years ago. It was clean and smart and the front desk team were lovely and helpful. It was a hot, muggy day in Reading and a chap on the front desk found us a fan which made us much more comfortable. Thank you..

In the morning I asked my Mum to get us a table in the restaurant. She was given menus with prices on she was told we had to pay for breakfast. I understood that I had paid for Bed and Breakfast in the price but rather than make a fuss we left. In hindsight of course, I should have shown my booking confirmation to the restaurant staff.

Great location with free parking. We walked to Reading festival and back but could have also got buses there. Room was good and bed was very comfortable. Lots of towels, toiletries, coffee and tea bags which was great. Breakfast was fantastic, just what we needed after the festival!

Shower door needed repairing and shower head needed cleaning. A few cobwebs by the windows too. Only had one teacup and spoon in the room.

We stayed on the other side of the newest building which is a lot nicer and more modern than the original building as shown in the photos. Breakfast was nice and the coffee machine was good too. Free parking always helps and boosts people staying at the hotels.

Not that I can think of tbh, all went well and friendly staffs.

Wasn't actually The Lawn Motel, was in the Parkside International Hotel (see below), but very nice. Comfy bed, quiet. Good shower. Lovely breakfast with full English breakfast + cereals and toast. Very spacious room.

When we arrived at The Lawn Hotel there was a sign on the door directing us to check in at the hotel next door instead (the Parkside International). Bit odd but the Parkside was a nice hotel and check in process easy so not too concerned. Hotel itself bit dated but fine for the price.

We were not in the Lawn hotel. On arrival we went to reception in their other hotel next door. They said we were going to stay there instead. Hotel was clean. Thermostats in bedroom so you could get the room to the heat you like.. Breakfast was nice. We got a bus into town straight outside, so we could leave the car at the hotel. There is a Beefeater near the hotel, but we like to go into Prospect Park to the Harvester. It's 15 mins walk if you like to have a drink, or two minutes in the car.

We didn't like the size of the duvet on the five foot bed. In itself it was only five foot. It needed to be a bit wider so as our backs stayed covered.

Room was spacious and clean, a large electric fan was available since our stay was in the middle of the extreme heatwave, and kept us cool enough during the night to be able to sleep well. Breakfast was a choice of cooked (full English etc), cereals and so on. There is plenty of space for car parking, and the hotel is easy to find. For the price paid it was actually excellent value, and I would happily stay there again.

The member of staff who checked us in and also served our breakfast was very helpful and polite. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good.

The only thing we didn't like was we weren't allowed to take our small, well behaved dog into the restaurant and they did advertise they were dog friendly.

All the staff lovely and friendly , rooms always clean and clean towels and coffee ect topped up daily. Lovely breakfast every morning and also had evening meal odd time which was very nice .

Plenty of space in the hotel… we actually stayed at the Parkside not the Lawn Hotel.. they are next to each other. The restaurant was clean and breakfast was first class . All staff were polite and helpful. Lift was clean and quick . plenty of parking too. We would recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Reading. Its on the main bus route into town. Taxis are readily available.

Toilet seat didn’t fit properly.. door jammed and had to be pushed hard.
