The Ibis is ideally situated for Reading railway station, it's about a 5 minute walk away. It's also close to all major bus stops and only a short walk to the Oracle and town centre. There is a good selection of pubs and restaurants around. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good sized ensuite. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was all good quality and a reasonable price.

The only major problem was the buffet itself. The food was great, but that's where it ends. We had breakfast just after 9 a.m. It looked as though none of the tables had been cleared during at least the last hour and no tables were cleared whilst we were there, (about 45 minutes). Juice dispensers had been allowed to run out. There were hardly any sugar sachets available. The condition of the area around the working coffee machine was very poor. Although a member of staff refilled the milk container, no attempt was made to clean this area or replenish anything. For some of the time there was no one on duty in the buffet, with some guests walking in without being registered. The hotel itself was good and I'll book again but my last impression of The Ibis was a dirty breakfast room.

The location was excellent only a 5 min walk from Reading railway station and right in the centre of Reading so perfect. The staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful, professional. The hotel was calm, quiet and safe. The room was comfortable and clean with tea and coffee making facilities, a table and chair, tv and very comfortable bed. I had a great view from the top.

I was hoping for a pizza that is advertised as being available 24/7 but unfortunately they needed defrosting so none were available. I have had the pizzas before so knew they were tasty so that was a little disappointing but everything else was great.

I only stayed for one night and that was effectively a short stopover en route to my planned destination. The location was key - close to Reading railway station for an early start the next day. It’s only 5 mins walk to the station. Although it was a Friday night I didn’t notice any noise from nearby pubs and restaurants. There were a few late night shops to grab odd things for the next day - pretty much next door and opposite.

Something that would have helped me personally would have been the addition of a small fridge in my room - nothing big just to store the odd drink and food(e.g sandwiches). The only other minor thing was the temperature of the shower varied a couple of degrees every now and then but no show stopper.

We stayed in a double sweetroom on the second floor and enjoyed the comfortable bed and controllable temperature. There is a reasonable amount of hanging space, and some storage areas. The shower/bathroom was small but well planned with a large enough shower and a good mirror. The only drawback with the shower room was the step up into it and down out of it, but this is explained because the shower rooms are prebuilt and are craned in as the hotel is built. The Flat screen tv was a good size, but will not accept input from a DVD player and I could not "cast" my phone to it. There are no instructions or guides on how to do anything with the TV. Add to this the small number of available channels, and it is understandable if people are streaming on their own phones! Having said this, the room was comfortable and the housekeeping exceptional. Location great. Staff helpful. Late checkout 12 noon - great. Try the Revolution de Cuba just across the road, noisy but good food and great Zombie cocktails!

Great location (it’s right in the town center) comfy beds and pillows, good facilities, great value for money. If you’re looking for affordable and comfortable accommodation this is definitely worth it. They also changed our towels every day which was great as they didn’t get a chance to dry properly after every shower. This meant that we didn’t have to use wet towels.

The shower head was pointing towards the wall and was difficult to adjust so we had to hold it up to shower. This was probably just something loose on the fitting itself and isolated to our role only.

The staff was able to make my family that doesn't speak english welcome , they were super helpful and made them really happy . The check-in and check out system really surprised me by how simple and quick it was , no queues or waiting times , just drop the keys in a box and go with your day Facilities were really good, and the location was great . Youre able to contact the staff via WhatsApp if you need anything . Overall im really happy ive choose this place . Also my bank account is still happy and running so i guessing the price is fair ;)

Maybe the card system could be a little bit clearer, like from which way it open/lock the door , but i guess it's not the staff's problem and more a technical one . The windows could open a little bit more, but as health and safety inspector myself, i see where you coming from by having a window opening at the 12 floor and drunk people during the weekend

The breakfast was amazing, we particularly wanted a hotel close to the railway station as we were using the trains a lot. The cancellation policy was attractive in case of last minute problems. The shower was excellent although we did have a problem with the hot water but this was rectified as quickly as was possible. All the members of staff were excellent at all times.

I found the room a little cold and had to top-up with the heater above the door frequently. Although the bed was comfortable the absence of a divan mattress was noticeable. Didn't realize that the bar menu consisted only of pizza a little variation would have been nice.

Staff was fantastic- friendly, welcoming and helpful. We have actually had some technical issue with our room, but they immediately found us an alternative room which was great. The hotel is nice and very clean, the beds are very comfortable. As a bonus, our room was quiet, considering its location right in the centre of town, on Friday night there was no noise.

I though the price was a quite high for a budget hotel - there are no facilities for that price, also a decor - no carpets, small window, and the bathroom is a shower unit within the room itself. Nevertheless everything was very clean so I felt comfortable.

24/7 pizza available in the reception. Ability to message reception staff on WhatsApp was a great addition to the hotel because I do not like phone calls. Staff were super friendly and always had smiles on their faces. Location is perfect. Cheap as chips. Just as great as I remember the hotel being last year. I will be back for reading pride.

The only slight criticism I have, if you can call it that, was that check out time was 12pm and the bed was too comfy to leave. Haha, but seriously there were no faults with my stay this time. Thank you very much.

The staff was kind, very fast check in and check out. There was WiFi, not the best that you can find but if you just want browsing and not requiring heavy load it's sufficient. The breakfast was quite good, again not the best but good variety and good working hours. The thing I liked the most was that the room was really quiet, as I needed to study and have a good night's sleep. Quite decent for short term business trip. And it's only 3 minutes from the station, with lots of restaurants around.

The room could have been a little cleaner, and there was no mini refrigerator in the room.
