We booked a last min night away as a treat and those offer included dinner and breakfast included. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with a big bath and amazing shower. The dinner we had in the restaurant included two courses and a side each and the food was fantastic, loved the cauliflower and coconut spicy soup, calamari and the truffle fries. The waiter we had was so friendly and attentive, think his name was Paulo. In addition we enjoyed some very well made cocktails in the bar, which is rare in Reading as so many bars seem to do premade lixes which are never good but Malmaison made very good fresh ones. To top it off we had such an excellent breakfast, so much choice in the buffet and then delicious egg benedict with smoked salmon and well done runny eggs. Overall we loved our mini getaway here

Reasonable room with a huge bathroom in a very convenient location - literally across the road from the station and my office.

There were two large wardrobes and I had the use of a couple of shelves and about a third of one wardrobe for hanging space. The rest of the wardrobes were used for storage by the hotel (ironing board, safe, fridge, tea tray, pillows, etc). The wardrobes could have been organised much more sensibly to allow the guests the use of at least all of one whole wardrobe! The water flow through the shower was poor to the extent that I used it once only. It took 5 minutes for hot water to arrive and this is not an exaggeration - there was a notice in my room to say that taps had to be run for 5 minutes. This is highly inconvenient and not at all good for the environment. Be aware that the floors are anything but level. There were three sets of stairs between the life and my room.

Room was efficient. Stayed for 4 nights, 2 people. The only "missing" was an actual closet or wardrobe. However, we only had a couple of things to hang up and the solution worked perfectly. Wall mounted giant screen with hangers. Had TV, coffee making facilities, bathroom. All one needs for a few nights away from home. Very clean. Felt very safe walking around even at night, female on my own. I chose because it was so close the theater I was attending. But it was well within walking distance of the shops and other areas to explore. Great location. Loved the decor. But, the staff made it!! So very helpful. Always polite, always in a great mood. Loved that staff!!! They are the best.

Nothing really, but not having a closed spaced--closet or wardrobe was a bit odd. Otherwise, nothing. The facilities are fantastic. If I get to Manchester again, I will book there!!!

The staff were very helpful. The room was surprisingly quiet for a city centre location. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and a great choice of hot and cold items. The overall atmosphere in the hotel was calm and welcoming.

The fixtures and fittings were worn and tired. The hotel would benefit from refurbishment. The majority of rooms have rain water showers which don't suit everyone. The parking arrangements are awkward and expensive.

I had such a great stay at Malmaison Reading. Had a great room, which was very quite. Comfortable bed and room was very clean. I liked that there were some steps/stairs inside the room which led to the bathroom.

I have booked my room without s breakfast as I was going to eat outside, however the only cons of my stay was that I was unable to order a coffee at the bar after I checked out. Not sure why they don’t serve at least hot beverages- but it was not a big deal.

Close to station and town centre - all walkable. Our room was quiet - special double glazing keeps all the street noise out. We love the attention to detail with all the little extras in the room like nespresso, chocs, robes, extra pillows etc. Staff were super helpful. Malmaison breakfasts cooked to order are always exceptional!

My only tip is that if you don’t want to get your hair wet in the rainforest shower, take a shower cap as none provided - the shower heads are so massive that wet hair is unavoidable. I know that sounds old very fashioned, sorry.

Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was big and the air con in our room was amazing - this was hugely important as we arrived in the midst of the hottest days in the year. Nice biscuits and chocolate in our room with bottled water. Staff allowed us to check in a little earlier than the advertised time.

The shower controls could have done with some instructions, or perhaps I’m just not that bright!

very nice Hotel actually.. we had our two small Dogs with us. very friendly staff (especially Matt, who served our breakfast etc).. we would definitely come back. really nice rooms.. not just another generic hotel room feel and look

we didn’t actually look into parking before arriving, we parked overnight in quite close multi story carpark. obviously not the Hotels fault.. possibly closer parking somewhere.. not complaining though.

I booked this for my Mum, who was travelling by train to Cornwall, the next morning. In her opinion the location was fantastic. The room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. She had a great nights sleep and enjoyed a good selection at breakfast. Yogis was extremely happy and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. As a solo traveller, my mum felt happy to stay here.

It wasn't very easy to find the short stay carpark which resulted in us parking in the long stay.

Fantastic location.Around 1-2min walk from train station. Lovely room and friendly staff. Room had a huge comfy bed, it was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Nice size wardrobe with iron and ironing board too. Spacious room. Nice bathroom. Hugely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again in future. One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. Short walk to shops and local sights. Really helpful and friendly staff on reception as well.
