Hotel lovely, great location, very comfortable bed. Staff lovely all friendly.

The breakfast was dreadful.. when I booked it we had looked online, it shows on the menu Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale etc.. when in fact we found it was only a small selection of cereal, fruit, ham croissants, muffins, or a buffet cooked breakfast. I asked the girl if could order like what the menu said online… she said no… It was all cold apart from the sausage…. The hash browns were so well cooked that there was no potato in them they just crumbled to scraps when tried to cut. I mentioned it to the nice young man on check out he said I could have asked for eggs Benedict … I told him I had asked . He was very apologetic and said would look into why it was all cold. The toast was nice tho, think Champion bread so we filled up on that…

Very well kept and in a great location with plentiful free parking. Food in the bar/restaurant was fantastic and at very reasonable prices too and the breakfast included was both plentiful and great quality!

Really scraping the barrel with this criticism but 3 of our 4 rooms booked by our party were booked as twin beds for separate adults. We found single beds pushed together with a double mattress. Not a big deal per se but a miscommunication between the accommodation and booking.com i was told was the cause. Didn’t really adversely impact our stay and we will definitely recommend or even visit again!

The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Bedroom and bathroom are splendid. Comfortable bed and lovely bed linen.

We had dinner in the hotel in the bar area and were very disappointed with the food and the service. It seemed sub-standard pub food. Of course it IS a pub despite the magnificent decor. The veggie curry didn't have the vegetables described on the menu but lots of mushrooms that weren't mentioned. (One of my friends has a severe mushroom allergy and would have been very ill if she had eaten this). The chips with my scampi seemed re-heated. The breakfast buffet also had food that was pretty overcooked.

It was such a surprise as I thought it was a road side cheap and cheerful pub with a few rooms. To my surprise, I found one of the great jewels. Food was outstanding and the staff should take credit in the service. My room was immaculate. More than that a large selection of teas and coffee was on hand. Much more than so called premier hotels where you get one or two teabags and two coffee sachets. I have singing its praises since my stay and I genuinely enjoyed my experience

Could not fault anything. Rooms were spotlessly clean, food was amazing and the staff were excellent

I was very happy with my stay at the Ripon Inn. I booked last minute and they were able to accommodate my room request. Check in was easy. The room was large and very comfortable and clean. I loved the decor throughout. The food in the restaurant was nice and the breakfast was excellent. I travelled with two small dogs and I found the Ripon Inn was very dog friendly. I loved the dog station. A dog menu would be good, I would have purchased a sausage or some grilled chicken for my dog. The large garden was great for a quick walk and lots of bins, which was fab. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The room was on the first floor and it was a bit of a way from the door, when the dog needed a wee, I think I dog a few trips up and down the stairs. The room was also very warm for me, and the window restrictions meant I could not cool it down, I understand why they are fitted so a fan may of been useful. Ripon was also great, very clean and easy to get around, a great base for a weekend break.

Room decoration is lovely. Comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. Really nice bathroom with good shower. Spacious room. Restaurant very busy with a good menu and lovely outdoor sitting area. Dogs kept on leads but welcome.

Housekeeping is a puzzle. If you don't request your room to be serviced you get a free drink? We got neither despite hanging the request on the door handle. We eventually went in search of tea bags etc. Car Park? Why not have an allocated area for hotel guests and non residences else where? Our room was directly adjacent to social area with people sitting outside the window. Not a problem until the room became too hot and we were unable to open heavy windows that lift up from the sill so anyone could climb through as on ground floor.

This place has clearly had a lot of money spent on refurbishment recently. It has been decorated nicely and the room was comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. I ate in the bar/ restaurant in the evening and the food was good, as was the breakfast. Great location for visits to Ripon Cathedral and also Fountains Abbey. Would recommend.

The only thing letting this place down in my opinion and preventing a rating of 10/10, is a lack of sound proofing in the rooms. When walking along the corridor to my room I could hear the sound of a TV coming from every room. The next room to me had the TV on which I could hear clearly during the evening and was annoying, although thankfully they turned it off at 10pm.

It is a really beautiful inn and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I had an issue with the radiator in our bedroom and the maintenance men were straight up to the room to sort the problem out and they were very helpful, even asking the next morning if everything was still ok!

Personally I wish the breakfast room was a bit bigger but by the second day I got used to the idea of being able to sit anywhere downstairs in the hotel

Location of hotel was excellent, within walking distance of the town but quiet. Breakfast was continental and hot buffet. Hot buffet was tasty.

On arrival you have to check in on a computer yourself. Older couple in front of us struggled to do this. We felt it was easy enough, if a little impersonal. On arrival in our room the bathroom had visibly not been cleaned. We were moved immediately by a very helpful and horrified member of staff but our second room - an 'upgrade' - was smaller than our original, though equal in decor and facilities.

I would definitely recommend the Ripon Inn and enjoyed my stay. My room was overlooking the gardens, a good size and immaculate. It was very clean ! The location is perfect for Ripon and surrounding area. All the staff I met were friendly and extremely helpful, you could not fault them = well done !

The only issue i had was with the window cord being broken so you could not open the 12ft high window. The staff arranged a temporary fix so I could have some air and cool down. Later when I wanted close they came and closed it immediately. Fabulous customer care.
