Hellaby Hall Hotel; BW Signature Collection

The hotel had a lot of character which made a pleasant change from the usual commercial hotels. Although the restaurant was closed during our stay the bar meals were varied and cooked by a chef. The meals were excellent and well presented. They were enjoyed by my 6 year old through to my 78 year old father. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were made to feel like guests.

The pool was a little cold. However once we started swimming it was fine. My son liked that he waa able to go in the jacuzzi pool as the temperature was warm and not too hot.

The 20m indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room. Good car parking (and free!). The house is in a nice setting. Away from main road but close to motorway connections, McD, supermarket. Room nicely decorated, good size double bed. There was a full-size bath….great for a relaxing soak to get rid of muscle pain - showers can’t do that. Didn’t have any meals so can’t comment on the food. Would definitely go back.

Shame jacuzzi cold and on a timer which meant you sometimes had to wait a bit for the bubbles to appear. Would have like to see better quality tea/coffee/milk options particularly more environmentally aware packaging. Handles on the windows are the same as supplied with my summerhouse, and are falling apart so difficult to open and close windows. Window panes had a lot of water on them. Would have been a big bonus to be able to go into the original building, as I like old buildings, but guess that’s kept for weddings.

Lots of positives with our stay here. Plenty of staff who were positive and responsive to requests. Food in the bar was excellent and the buffet breakfast was all good quality. We had a minor issue with a breakfast item but there was a good response to our complaint and we received complimentary drinks in the bar. All staff were courteous and friendly, even cleaning staff stopped as you passed them to say good morning. Room was comfortable and bathroom was clean and modern.

Only very minor issues. Bedside lights had very low wattage bulbs so difficult to read in bed. Took the shade off. Shower temperature fluctuated but within a limit that didn't cause me to jump out. Hotel operates 24 hours (including the bar surprisingly) this meant that we occasionally heard staff moving past our room and through a doorway to a stairwell in the very early hours. We were probably just unlucky with our room location,

Very helpful friendly staff. Wonderful service in the spa. The restaurant food was delicious. The Hot stone massage I received from Natalie was fantastic, well worth the money!

Pool was really cold, as was whirlpool. Sauna and steam rooms packed with people trying to warm up! The pictures of the two lovely outside hot tubs should NOT be shown with room and facilities,as these have to be booked as part of a spa day. We didn't bother using the pool for this reason,and had I have known and not have treatments booked,I would have gone elsewhere.

Hotel is really lovely with helpful staff and pretty gardens. We came early but we were able to use pool facilities until check in which was great. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was nice and spacious. Bathroom had large walk in shower and the water pressure was brilliant. We went for dinner and breakfast. Food was very good and I am gluten free and vegan and they definitely cater for this. Overall we had very nice stay.

I was excited about hot tub but it was so cold, same as the pool. I have heard the heating broke so it was just unfortunate it happened when we stayed that weekend. I am also shocked that 4 star hotel doesnt have proper coffee machine, only automatic one that dispense powdered milk, without frother so i couldnt have my vegan late. However they brought oat milk and had filter coffee instead. Having a coffee machine in 4* hotel is a must though. Also little fridge in the bedroom would be useful.

Lovely big rooms, comfortable beds, excellent shower and fabulous breakfast. We were watching rabbits in the grounds whilst eating breakfast. We couldn't fault any part of the hotel or its facilities. We didn't use any of the spa facilities so cannot comment on them. However, daughter loved the swimming pool, sauna and spa.

Nothing to dislike. Everything was as described. Maybe evening meal could be slightly cheaper and less 'posh', though that's probably a personal thing as we're not used to 4 star luxury !

The food were exceptional!!! The staff forgot a few of our items we ordered but it got rectified with no issues at all. Every dish were full of flavour and a good amount my compliments to the chef because i love my puddings but would of happily ordered the Sticky Pork Shoulder out of this World!!!! me and my husband got a 3 course meal and we thought it were very cheap up to some places we have been to the kids enjoyed there meal too and were full. Breakfast were brilliant a wonderful mixed choice and something to suit all 5 of us i really recommend the Danish and Croissants best pastries i have tasted. As for our bedroom we all stayed together in a wonderful room with 3 double beds very clean and perfect for our nights stay, all enjoyed a lovely bath and shower and had plenty of towels and enough tea and coffee for us all a wonderful place and i would definitely come again maybe just me and the husband next time!

My only criticism is we were in room 30 and below us must of been the smoking area and a populated area for people to gather, we always have our window open as it gets hot with us all together and we could smell the smoke and hear a lot so disturbed me and my partner quite a bit.

Location good, room confortable and facilities available including iron and iron board. Parking close to hotel main entrance. Breakfast plentiful and of good quality. Service in the "dining room" very good and veery friendly which in the morning is definitely a plus.

On arrival we still had empty bottles from previous occupants outside our bedroom door. While reception did organise immediately for the removal, it did not give a good impression when new guests are entering the room.

A lovely character hotel, Could see it was very popular for a wedding venue. The rooms were a good size, very spacious. Tge breakfast was very tasty in the morning, liked the fact you could help yourself.

On this occasion,I didn't like the way room 81 was very confusing to get too, the room with the lay out to get to it, especially with the fact that I had mobility problems, I was unable to use the lift to get really to the room. So I would definitely next time ask for a room on the ground floor. We had a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night around 8pm, There was on one occasion we had to wait over 15mins for our drinks, there were plenty of very young members of staff in the restaurant, and a wedding downstairs as well. Ordered the duck, for main, but unfortunately it wasn't very nice. It all seemed a bit flustered in the restaurant on sat night,

The food and service and rooms were all great.. we had the chicken main dish which was lovely, I did ask for some more gravy towards the end of the meal as we both needed it otherwise the service and food were exceptional thanks Kate

Oh sorry! The small wine glass that my wine was served in, compared to the lovely wine glasses on the table.. if your ordering wine by the glass at the table, take them off then and then use the glasses for the wine .. don’t bring a small bar glass of wine and then take the nice glasses away… :-(
