Loved the interior decor and inn vibes, the rooms were modern with lovely old inn architecture. I had low expectations but everything was clean and comfortable, the pub bit downstairs could get busy but that’s expected, we were comfy in our room and noise level was low since we had a fan on and rain sounds playing so slept well. Breakfast was fab at £10 each, not greasy and very tasty with free drinks and continental bits!

Felt like I would fall down those stairs a bit hauling my luggage up the smaller steps at the top but appreciate thats not something that could be fixed since it’s an older building! I would recommend putting auto dimmers on the hallway lights as the light was bright streaming in from the hallway through the door gaps but also will save you guys money on electricity too :)

Lovely character pub, lively atmosphere, food was fine. Good parking facilities, great location, really friendly staff, nice and clean good sized room. Comfortable bed, plenty of towels.

Although the room was a good size it was pretty basic and only ‘functional’. First thing I noticed when unpacking was a lack of drawers, even the bedside tables had none. During our stay we also mentioned to each other that it’s usual to find a couple of bottles of water and two glasses with the tea making facilities but there was only two awful plastic’cups’ wrapped in plastic in the bathroom, also no hairdryer, no shower caps, nowhere to hang a towel or dressing gown etc in the bathroom. All these things are so easily remedied and in this standard of accommodation you would expect to find them. Downstairs the place has been furnished to reflect the age and characteristics of the building, unfortunately the theme isn’t continued upstairs and that’s a shame.

All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant at lunch or dinner, as we were visiting family in the area, but the menu choice looked good. Full English cooked breakfast was delicious.

Nothing really. Our room was at the front of the hotel, so there was some noise of voices from below, when the restaurant was busy earlier in the evening, but we had a spacious, warm room with a wardrobe, comfy chair, large screen tv and a generously-sized en-suite shower room. We were able to relax and double glazing minimised any noise from the road, so we had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed.

Everything was good enough, though I thought the room could use a comfortable chair somewhere. And a word of advice, from an ex-hotelier, when one's facilities are not fully booked, then it is always smart to make the better rooms available to guests. In my case I used the Dun Cow since it is close to my daughter's boarding school. At the end if this academic year she will be moving to another school in the same locale. Which is still nearby. I was rather hoping to find suitable accommodations for visits over the next 5 years. But the smallish, narrow room, with only one small window and no comfortable seating simply won't do. As a result the Dun Cow has lost a potential "frequently repeat" client. I am sure there has to better rooms than this one. But now won't ever know.

Please refer to the above.

nice room clean traffic is a problem but location is the key for me, bonus question said I had requested a quite room , no I didn't as I know we are on a crossroad with traffic lights .As a lone traveler I like to be in the main house, so far that request has always been honoured.Dinner is usually good, would be nice to be offered some incentive to eat in house i.e. a discounted rate, I never eat breakfast so can't comment

what a shame you have taken the baths out. lovely sise room and bathroom, would be lovely to relax in a bah at the end of the day.

The food was very nice and the veg I dared to have were not microwaved, which had been disappointing in the past. The staff are lovely and make me feel they are interested in the life of an old git!

The room was extremely hot, as it had been in the sun all day. Maybe it would be a good idea to keep the curtains closed during the day when the weather is very warm? My first night was very uncomfortable but the following nights less so as the housekeeping team left the fan on during the day.

Old fashioned country inn. Lots of oak beams, floors and open fireplace.Full of character in keeping with the building and the delightful village of Dunchurch. Food was good and friendly, helpful staff.

Total change in bedrooms.Whilst comfortable with good bathroom why in heavens sake did it have to be all plain grey? This modern, boring fashion for painting everything grey is totally out of keeping with the character of the pub.Even the pictures on the walls were black and white. Please think again.

Booked the Dun Cow for my Dads birthday and we had a party of 23 sitting down as well needing 9 rooms Nothing was too much trouble from the onset booking either Michelle was fantastic and looked after us before we arrived with our many questions all the way through and Andrew and his staff made sure we wanted for nothing - the young staff were also brilliant Rooms are exceptionally clean and well laid out despite being part of a very old building Public rooms all had real fires blazing away throughout - lovely!

The temperature of the shower needs sorting as after a few minutes it went luke warm - not just my room either we heard at breakfast Shame reallyas otehrwise it would be 5 stars across the board

The staff went above and beyond, the room was made available to us early, 12.00, as we had contacted them and asked if this would be possible as we wanted to change into our 'glad rags' ready for a big family celebration for a close relatives 90th birthday lunch. Excellent service. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable and the shower also very good. We just had fruit juice with sourdough toast and marmalade for breakfast, as we were still rather full from our celebration dinner.

the Dun Cow is a historical public house, warm atmosphere, and old style lodging which add to the charm of the place. we needed a place to crash for a night in between trips to visit distant parts of the family for Xmas. Staff were absolutely amazing - guy at checking and lady at breakfast were truly great, welcoming, genuinely helpful.

all was great - not that I didn’t like but the heat in the room can be really strong! don’t be fooled by the age of the building… you can have a roasting beach time whilst outside is minus 15!
