The breakfast buffet was excellent. I was able to enjoy that one of the mornings. The hotel staff is lovely and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed.

The hotel was at capacity and I was assigned a disability room. I am not a person with a disability, and did not make that request.... I did worry I may be taking that room for someone who might need it. When I asked why (the bathroom was the issue for me...no tub, and a curtained corner shower to accommodate a wheelchair-bound guest)I was given this room, the hotel said that this is an issue with guests booking thru Booking.com. It's a frequent issue. This should be looked into by Booking.com for future guests.

Good location close to St Andrews. Room very comfortable. Service efficient. Breakfast and dining excellent. Ate both in La Cucina and Kittocks' Den would thoroughly recommend Kittocks' great food substantial portions and good children's menu. Book in advance though. Swim and spa area super although Jacuzzi not working sadly. Plenty places to sit, read and have a coffee.

Children's game room was not cleaned daily apple core under game table and half eaten muffin in soft play left for two days. This area needs some TLC good activities but a little tired tears in soft play netting. Pillows very soft but replaced for firmer ones when requested.

overall very nice. the spa was lovely, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, the room was nice. Thanks to Phil, he really made an impression on me- he’s an asset to the Fairmont St Andrews. Really nice man

it’s not that I didn’t like the property but the customer service of the reception staff could’ve been a little bit better. On check in I should’ve been told to download the app and been told of the check out time. It was my mistake as I assumed check out was at 12midday but it was 11am. Luckily the reception staff were gracious and I wasn’t charged a late check out fee, however I could’ve avoiding rushing around if it was clear. Had to ask twice for help with my luggage which isn’t a terrible thing, however would’ve been nice to have got my request the first time.

Room very comfortable and clean. We had steak at the restaurant it was lovely. Breakfast was as good as I remembered from the last time.

The grand national racing was on. The sports bar had no-one serving drink and we had to look for someone to explain we needed to order from other bar. We waited 30 minutes to get a drink the bar had 10 people waiting behind us. We nearly missed the race because the person some of the staff had no idea how to get it on. Please note this was the only thing I had a problem with everything else in the hotel was as good as my previous visit.

Breakfast was awesome & the atrium is just beautiful. The pool was lovely & the room was spacious, comfortable & tastefully decorated.

Just minor points: The room was for 3 people but we only had water/tea/biscuits etc for 2 people. We didn’t get supplied with robes in our room as expected & they didn’t send up one to the room for our son as promised at check in so we didn’t have them for use in the spa which was disappointing. The cucina restaurant was a little below expectations, the staff were young & not very knowledgeable, I had to ask for Parmesan in an Italian! No veg served with venison main & the lasagne had literally no garnish/salad which made it a bit less appealing, otherwise tasty tho but not 5*

Everything was excellent - could not fault it -but the staff were exceptional which made it a really lovely stay. Everyone from the concierge to the waiting staff to the maintenance chap couldn't have been nicer or done more for us. I was travelling with my elderly mum who is wheelchair bound and the staff were all friendly, attentive and helpful. Can't praise it enough. And the coffee was really good! :)

If I was to be really picky....we really did not like the knives because they were an odd shape and hard to hold! Only mentioning it because there was nothing else to dislike!

Staff are incredible. Aine was so helpful and proactive. The food in the Italian restaurant and kittocks den was exceptional. The staff in kittocks den were amazing and so attentive, I think three that really stood out, I think their names were Daniella, jasmine and Dominica. Room was fantastic and housekeeping staff clean to a great standard. The staff to me are the biggest asset to the hotel. The beds are very comfortable.

Nothing I didn't like, but some areas maybe need a little tlc around poolside and sauna etc. I think most five stars of this standard offer a prosecco with breakfast, just little touches like that I feel were missing that you'd expect in a Fairmont.

This was my first visit to the Fairmont and it exceeded expectations, the hotel is fabulous, staff lovely and location excellent! Food in the bar restaurant was excellent and worth every penny.

The only minus I had was breakfast- although there was variety, the hot breakfast was cold. I had the cooked breakfast, everything tasted good, I just like my breakfast to be hot. Also my mother asked for a poached egg, twice it was cooked by the chef and it wasn’t done properly and disintegrated onto her plate. She ended up taking a fried one. Good variety, tasty, but cold unfortunately!

beautiful property. we had a deluxe double which had a nice view of the golf course and sea. lovely bathroom with a large bath and plenty fluffy towels. spa was wonderful and Rachael was exceptionally good.

we ate in the La Cucina restaurant on the first night. two members of our party ordered pasta which was very under cooked. it’s never nice to have to send food back, it means sitting about waiting on the food being recooked while others finish their meals. it leaves the night disjointed. when the pasta returned the sauce was watered down and just not enjoyable. we left a tip as the restaurant staff were very nice but unaware that there was a gratuity already added. maybe I am wrong but I think gratuities should be given for good service but found out on departing that gratuities were added to virtually all our services. the bar charged for bringing drinks to the table and the spa had added 20% also.

the hotel and the rooms overall were very comfortable. the staff super friendly and accommodating. the breakfast were plentiful. the golf next to the hotel was great with a top class course and great views to the firth and St Andrews.

the pool/sauna area was loud and looked very unhygienic. the door from the changing rooms to the sauna area kept banging all the time so not very relaxing. the sauna was old, very dark too small and the ceiling too low. the meal service at the kittocks den was very slow and sloppy.
