Location

The room we was in room 2 first floor was lovely however at times it was very noisy coming from the ground floor on the second night of our stay we were rudely awoken at the early hours of the morning 3.40am by whom we were led to believe was the owners son ? scraping a ladder through the back yard and clattering against his bedroom wall then climbing up onto an air condition unit opened his window then jumped through into the bedroom which caused unrest as at the time we believed this was a burglar , next morning we brought this up with a member of staff who said she would get the owner to contact us as she new this had been a very upsetting incident unfortunately that contact never came

Booked what said was a "budget" room but it was far from budget. It was a good size for just one person. Room was an attic room with a slanted roof and dorma window which opened fully for fresh air. I believe the bed was a Queen, lovely decor and very fresh, bathroom was clean and big with a great bath/shower combo and a window that opened to let all the steam out. Towels were lovely and fluffy and the supplied toiletries were great to use.

The kettle had water in it from previous occupants which should really have been cleaned out and the mix-match of coat hangers in the wardrobe is a bit rubbish considering the cost of plastic hangers to have them all the same.

Good location, across the road from station car park which cost me £7.50 for 24hrs parking. We stayed in the family room number 10 which was nice, comfy beds and clean.

Only annoying thing was at breakfast there wasn’t enough 4 seated tables for me and my children to all sit together, too many 2 seated tables meaning I had to sit with my youngest at one side of the room and my other 2 children were sat away from us at the other side of the room. Also breakfast fruit and cereals were all cleared away before we had finished, my youngest wanted cereal and then fruit but by the time he’d finished his first bowl of cereal the other cereal and fruit had all been put away even though there were still people eating!

The location was perfect for us. Very convenient for the town and beach. Easy to find, convenient for parking (even though this wasn't free). Room was a good size and comfortable, nice bathroom. Food was excellent - very impressed with the breakfasts, good variety of options and well cooked. We also ate there one night and the meals were very tasty.

A pity there was no free parking, but this wasn't a major issue as the public car park was just over the road. Service was a bit slow at breakfast on the second day as it was quite busy. No major issues, though, staff were all lovely!

Staff were very helpful, room was a bit small, but clean and adequate. Food in the evening in the restaurant was exceptional.

There was a lot of noise outside on Friday night. People talking and music from cars outside. There was a local band playing on Saturday night in the bar, which was fine when it started around eight o'clock, but as the evening went on it got louder and louder and was still going on after midnight. As we hadn't wanted to attend the event (it was too busy for us and no seats available) we had gone up to our room. We couldn't hear the TV over the noise from downstairs and certainly couldn't sleep. We were not aware of this event prior to booking the hotel.

We loved so much about this hotel from the friendly staff and their willingness to offer extra assistance when my husband wasn’t well, the cleanliness of the whole place was the biggest bonus for me, I usually travel with my own bedding due to previous failings at other hotels but this wasn’t needed, even the tops of the doors and the very high TV were dust free. The food was tasty and plentiful and I was pleasantly surprised by the range of gluten free offerings. We are already looking to book our next little getaway.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Was able to park in the street at the side of hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Large modern room. Breakfast was fantastic and food in bar very good quality. About a 15 minute walk down to the beach in RHB.

Not really a negative and wouldn’t put me off staying again but mattress on bed very thin and not comfortable. The room was much too warm for me (under floor heating) and the water pressure in the shower was poor. For £85 a night we couldn’t really complain.

We booked last minute for a lower price than advertised. As our chosen room was a budget room we did not expect anything fancy, just basic. The room was more clean, modern and attractive than we had expected. Excellent value for money. He furniture and decorations looked nearly new and the room was equipped with all of the amenities we had hoped for.

As my partner is a very picky eater, he doesn’t eat any cooked breakfasts. The continental option was good and appropriate for him but potentially some extras like pastries, pancakes etc would provide more choice to the people who do not eat cooked breakfasts.

Staff were great, very helpful. The room was spotless and modern. The pub itself was perfect for what we needed: decent pint, good food and a live singer on. Location was great, just a stone's throw from Whitby itself and a lot cheaper per night than down there. Also the breakfast was top notch, plenty of choice available. The information book in the room went beyond anything I've read in any hotel. It lists all the food menus, where the nearest doctor or dentist is. Very helpful.

The windows In the room wouldn't fully close on the latch and it felt this was done on purpose for whatever reason.
