Lovely safe place for kids to play kids loved beach outside and short walk to Robin Hood Bay, food very good pirce with kids eating for a pound, lovely old building spotless and everything you could need incase forgotten to being anything, staff really lovely

Didn't realise when booking no car park outside with having mobility issues but took it steady down hill to reach bottom, was very noisy until 1245am in morning but can't blame thatcon the yha as notices up asking people to be quite from 11/7, beds very uncomfortable can feel the bars on bed through mattresses but wouldn't stop us visiting again

Amazing beachside location with stunning views and cliff side walks.. Clean and friendly atmosphere with happy staff and visitors.. Good value food and drinks in the on site cafe/bar. As Youth Hostels go I think you would be hard pressed to find a better one anywhere in the UK.. You could leave belongings in a locked shed with a security code if you arrived before check in time which was handy.

The walk from the free car park is approximately 300 metres but down a very steep hill so make sure you take everything required when you arrive as it is a killer walk back up. I wouldn't say this is a negative, it's just the lay of the land and the price to pay to accesss such a secluded hidden gem.

Everything, the hostel is in a great location and has a wonderful homely feeling. The staff are so welcoming and always willing to help. Our family have been coming to Boggel Hole for over 40 years and are now onto the 5th generation to come. I came with my family (4 generations) for my retirement celebration and the staff made me feel special..

We were in 2 rooms that slept 8 people in the main house, one room had only on single plug and the other one double plug. In this morden age this was not enough for charging everyones devices and for hair dryers etc.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. All in all it had a very "youth hostel" feel, which is to say a variety of friendly and chatty guests with plenty of people here for the outdoors. People should note the distance to the car part and pack accordingly, also that the walk to Robin Hood's Bay is fine for people who are reasonably fit, but those who are unfirm will struggle.

The food wasn't great. We ate an evening meal which was fairly basic but overpriced with a number of elements poorly cooked. There's a full kitchen so I'd recommend self catering. For visitors there's a number of cakes and deserts which are a lot nicer. A relatively minor gripe but there's WiFi in the lounge but not in the rooms and a very poor phone signal - would be great to extend that WiFi to the rooms.

The staff were so amazing and friendly and very kind.. Excellent food and fab atmosphere

I think there should be a barrier at the top of the road to ensure Nobody drives down arriving at night.. I nearly drove down and didn't know the layout.. I was told to leave my car at the top and staff absolutely amazing.. But to cover future safety to ensure no cars drive into the sea!! Please put a barrier across at the top.. As I ws shocked when I saw the road drop down in the day light..

Both evening meal and breakfast were excellent, location was perfect - a short walk from Robin Hood's Bay along the beach or cliff. Rooms were newly decorated and clean, staff were pleasant, funny and helpful. We'll be back soon.

Not really suitable for people who don't like walking/climbing (or can't) as Boggle Hole is in a deep scar on the coast so it's a climb up and a climb down. Towels not provided so bring your own, we received the e-mail telling us to bring towels after our stay was over.

Setting was gorgeous and brilliant walk to Robin Hoods Bay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The actual place was fabulous...loved the pirate theme! So clean also! Facilities were great. Great that they have beer on draft.

I ordered the wrong thing on the menu but it was completely my fault! I didn't realise the nachos came with nacho cheese sauce unfortunately. My daughter got the scampi which was lovely though and the breakfast the next day was fantastic.d

Very clean. Attractive. Eco friendly .Good use of recycled items. The Crows Nest unit was well appointed. Great clifftop walks leading from the YH. Closeness of the beach. Great for families & especially children.

The steep trek to the parking area but you get used to it! Kitchen/dining area lacked a communal feel but probably better when this YH is not also being used by school parties. They were having fun though!

We loved the feel of the place is was really warm and cozy, the location right on the sea was amazing and the staff were lovely really friendly and helpful. Would definately stay again!

The long road from the main road was a bit frightening as you couldn't see on coming traffic. The cars are then left and there is a walk down to the hostel which is quite steep with no lighting.

This place is everything, an absolute gorgeous hidden gem with a stunning view on your doorstep. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The place itself was unique with its decor which we loved, the facilities were superb and very clean and the overall vibe of the place was relaxing and chilled out, exactly what we wanted. We loved the books and pack of cards left in the room and all the little nooks with quirky extras. We opted for the breakfast which was lovely, unlimited with lots of options to chose from. The evening food menu looked great too. I loved all the signs that educated families about pollution and facts about the local wildlife, lots of time has been spent making this place educational but fun. First time in a YHA and first time travelling to this part of the UK and i would most definitely stay again. Gorgeous place and will recommend to friends and family.

Nothing we didn't like however our backs were paying the price the next day as the mattresses weren't brilliant.... but nothing to moan about, we expected it and loved the experience of staying here.
