Lovely clean and tidy hotel and room. The staff were friendly and it was easy to check in late (but before 11pm) despite the doors being locked as they were around in the bar area and there is a number to call if they aren’t. The breakfast was good and very affordable for a Royal Hotel! The location is excellent being in central Sheerness

The main light in the room didn’t work so had to rely on using the lights next to the beds. Hot water in the shower takes a while to come through. No one at the reception desk most of the time but it was easy to drop the key off in the box after the stay. Also be aware the hotel bar closes early! No hotel parking available

Our second stay at the hotel, the renovation works are indeed making it an even more lovely place. Staff very friendly and professional, breakfast very good and abundant. A nice, warm welcome back and another very pleasant stay.

A very pleasant stay for four nights in a family-run hotel. A quiet break out of season gave us the opportunity to enjoy personally-prepared dinners. The price was appropriate for the level of comfort. The location is a stone’s throw away from the town centre and railway station while a two-minute walk leads you to a Blue Flag beach. The hotel, which is a listed building, has much character appeal, although some of the décor could do with updating. This is not a hotel of flat-pack standardised furniture that gets ripped out and replaced every few months. Some furniture was quite dated and the shower initially had a small leak (this was immediately rectified), but all was in good working order and, most importantly, clean. Often such buildings are quite cold, however this was not the case here and despite staying mid Spring, no expense was spared on heating. The staff are fantastic and no request is too much bother, whether it is extra towels, herbal teas or advice on finding a local garage. The breakfasts are hearty and dinner is a la carte and cooked to order, with traditional pub classics on the menu, as well as Sri Lankan specialities. Our stay coincided with Tamil New Year and we were treated to a delicious rice Kiribati.

I did not have a breakfast included in the price but I was given a complimentary cooked breakfast and coffee. It was delicious. I am a historian and was visiting Sheerness for that reason for my hobby. The man who looked after me on check and on the bar and at breakfast was amazing. His customer service was above and beyond as he gave me an old book on the history of the Isle of Sheppey . I read some pages of interest to me which led me to visit other destinations. Exceptional service!!!!!

Nothing. The value for money was above what I would have expected.

All the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful and approachable. Good location in Sheerness only a stone's throw away from the sea/shops/etc. Obviously an older building, but clean rooms, plenty of character and lively ground floor pub/bar, (live music the Sat evening we stayed and good fun) Also with separate dining room for sit down meals. We had cooked breakfast in morning and went down a treat. All drinks/meals/rooms seemed fairly priced so good all round in my opinion!

Sheerness town itself was a bit dead the day we stayed (coronation day not the greatest weather tbf) but the bar in the hotel was lively enough that evening it didnt really matter in the end. No complaints whatsoever about the Royal Hotel in general. No onsite carpark, however this was clearly indicated upon booking and both long/short term carparks are close by anyway.

the size of the room and the location is perfect

only down side some of the channels didn’t work because they are in the middle of refurbishment so that can’t be helped and no lift so it’s a struggle up to the top floor with luggage

The location of the Royal is fairly central, within an easy walk to the high street, railway station and the seafront. It's a bit old fashioned, which we absolutely love, and is clean and comfortable. The chef knows his stuff too. We had breakfast and dinner there which were delicious and beautifully cooked. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and courteous. They even prepared fresh ginger and honey tea for my laryngitis.

The view of next door's increasing collection of old worn out furniture abandoned on their flat roof! And some inconsiderate motorists having a bit of a noisy joy ride late at night. Though nothing to do with this hotel.

The food was delicious and though it wasn't gourmet it was cooked perfectly, the staff were really friendly and helpful and always greeted us with a smile, the hotel is right in the heart of town making it very convenient for a longer stay.

The bed was 2 singles zipped together making it somewhat uncomfortable for a couple who like to be close. We stayed for 6 days and while the room was clean at check in it didn't get cleaned for the duration of our stay. The views aren't particularly good. No lift means a lot of stairs.

Great value for money. Staff there are so friendly and make you welcome. Breakfast is fantastic and sets you up for day. When we go to Sheerness again will definitely stay there.

For the price you can't not like anything.
