Fantastic stay with incredibly kind and attentive hosts. It was a truly special experience. Our space and bedrooms were large and comfortable and we had run of our own side of the house. It was as if we had our own little cottage in the picturesque village of Yetminster, complete with a downstairs powder room and country kitchen door leading out to a stunning garden and private parking. The breakfast was exactly what we needed with fresh bread and dairy from the local shop as well as cereals and teas, coffee, and hot chocolate. We wanted for nothing. During our visit to Dorset we stayed here on two different week-long occasions and look forward to being back.

I could not have found a more perfect "home" in which to stay and prepare for my daughter's wedding in Yetminster. It's a small village in the idyllic Dorset countryside. Claire and Nick, the owners, were just fabulous and exceeded every expectation we had. The house is so full of charm, history and warmth. The beds were extremely comfortable. Three of us were in the two guest rooms and shared a very large bathroom. Plenty of fragrant (lemon ginger) soaps and hair products (glad we didn't need to pack those). The towels were large and fluffy. Super clean space. We loved the sitting room/breakfast area. Claire provided delightful breakfasts (fresh breads), snacks and yummy coffee and teas. The Hound House has a beautiful garden where you can sit in the chairs and soak up the scent of all her gorgeous flowers. A small convenience store is located nearby in case you need something (we bought wine). When it came to the big day, Claire and Nick were there to help us organize, relax with some beverages (thank you, Nick!) and even took a video as my daughter and I strolled up the hill to St. Andrews church (and they had offered to drive us if the weather was inclement - thankfully, the wind and rain stayed away). We all felt we were in an episode of Downton Abbey. Thank you, both, for going out of your way and making our stay and our special event so wonderfully memorable. Bottom line, if you're near Sherborne, STAY at HOUND HOUSE. I hope to go back.

Nothing. Loved everything.

Our host was extremely welcoming and had the fire going for us in the sitting room when we arrived. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with 2 double bedrooms a bathroom and a separate sitting room for relaxing and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was continental with fresh fruit, cereal, fresh bread, yoghurt and tea or coffee. The atmosphere and location are conducive to relaxing and a great base for visiting the wonderful countryside and towns in the area. The beds are very comfortable too! Our stay was not long enough!

The hosts were absolutely fantastic, going above and beyond to help us enjoy the stay. The house is great with all facilities that we required. The place is immaculate and furnished to a high standard. The location is lovely with great views out back. Quintessentially English village with a pub 2 minutes walk away!

It is a little out of the way though there is a shop and a pub minutes away on foot.

A wonderful property with very caring and warm hosts. We felt very much at home and received that most amazing attention and support from this outstanding hosts. Our rooms and living areas were spacious and really comfortable. The beds and linens were first class and we very much look forward to being back for our third visit to this property and the family that runs it.

We were really amazed by the size and cleanliness of the property we stayed in. What's more, our hosts were very attentive and always enquiring about our needs and comfort. The cleanliness was beyond compare, far outdoing any hotel we have stayed in.

We thought the bed was a bit too hard for us, something we were not used to, but we still managed to sleep. Also, we thought the bed could be better positioned so that each of us could get in and out of the bed without having to crawl over the other one.

My partner and I were looking to enjoy a romantic getaway, and we could not have chosen a better place than the Hound House. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hostess provided us with suggestions for beautiful and peaceful spots and beaches to visit around the area, as well as a list of delicious restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Cross Keys pub and the Italian restaurant Tamburino. The Chinese restaurant The Fortune Palace was excellent too! Driving through the surrounding villages was truly an enchanting experience. Would recommend driving a small car if hiring one for easier rides around narrow country roads. Comfortable and homely with a relaxed atmosphere. Lovely garden to view and parking available.

Lack of sink in the dining area to wash up used crockery/cutlery, although our host sorted everything for our stay.

Very well presented. Spotlessly clean.

The bedrooms were up stairs which could be difficult for the elderly.
