This was the best! Our host was great! Breakfast was a perfect English breakfast and made to order. My friend doesn't eat red meat, so her breakfast was made to perfection as well. Upon arriving, we were offered dinner. Again, dietary needs were met and she received a beautifully cooked salmon steak. Each morning was a delight to share conversation with other guests, watch birds being fed and the occasional visit from Miss Mindy, the house canine. A visit to the farmers market was a special treat for me. The room was spacious, allowing for privacy for each of us.

It's a bit of a distance from certain things but nothing a short walk, an uber or taxi couldn't remedy.

Bernard (the host) does a superb breakfast and he also accommodated my request for packed lunches. Nothing too much trouble for him and very chatty; made me feel very welcome. Room had all the basics you could ever need, including a fridge. The property is in a really nice location with a selection of pubs nearby, and is situated close to the M42. Off-road parking is a bonus, too.

If I was to be picky, the curtains weren't quite wide enough for the window in the room I had when they're shut. Also, I would've preferred a bath to a shower but that's just personal preference.

Great location to access NEC - short drive and pass supermarket before motorway to stock up on food. Breakfast was great - cereal then hot full english or sausage/bacon sandwich with hot drink. Other residents friendly and overall welcoming. Bernard will be as helpful as he can and give idea's where to eat locally for evening meal etc. Competitive price - had kettle in room with tea bag/coffee + offered milk jug and plenty of hot water for shower.

A little dated in places - its homely, but not hotel standards - if you are fussy, its not for you.

Hospitality of the owner was exceptional, any problems or requests were attended to straight away.

Shower cubicle was too small, toilet too close to a wall and the whole of the shower room was far too small. I believe that the property was in need of a refurbishment, but for the short stay we had it was satisfactory. The owner was an extremely good cook and invited us to evening meals when he was doing them and they were beautiful.

Down to Earth owners who go above and beyond. I had my case carried up and fresh milk for tea...even a bottle of water in the fridge. The room was airy which was welcome after a long day at work. Room was a sufficient size Breakfast was really good and a large selection. The property does evening meals at an extra charge. I will definatley stay again

I would be hard pressed to find something i didnt like

Bernad is a good host. He made all things proper on time

The kitchen should also be included in this as sometimes I needed to cook food for the dinner but it was not allowed

Bernard, the proprietor, was excellent. He provided each of us with a lift to the local pub (three separate journeys) on the first day. He was very hospitable and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Honestly the fact you let us get on with what we wanted to do and didn't bother us, my partner has extreme social anxiety and hates talking to people, especially those we've got to share a living space around. Still felt if I'd have asked you about something you'd have been right on it and I appreciate it. (Like the case of me using the wrong key to get in the first night!)

Your showers are not built for tall people. No air con, but it's a guest house, not a hotel. Thought you may come and replace linen, but again, guest house, not a hotel, that's me being snobby, honestly, great job.

Plenty of options on drinks in the room, plenty of sugar, tea, coffee, and Maria even provided fresh milk (instead of the plastic packets you would normally expect) Loved the bed, four poster and very comfortable. The room smelt clean and it was clear bed was clean too. The shower was fantastic. Really warm, perfect temperature and amazing pressure (which Bernard advised us, was because they had a separate water tank to give great water pressure and heat!). Really clean bathroom, well looked after (loved the artwork in the frames!). The wardrobes were great, with full length mirrors so we could check what we looked like before going out. Not only did we have drawers for storage, but also shelving within the double wardrobe too. We had an iron and ironing board (didn't need to ask for it). A beautiful view of the well looked after garden. We were even given cutlery and plates with no objection (we got a takeaway later to watch the disappointing England game - NO FAULT OF THE LODGE ;-p The next morning, we were given options on everything for drinks, and food. We went for a full English breakfast each, with fresh orange juice, and 2 cups of tea. Bernard asked us how we would like our tomatoes in future (we had already said we will be back) as the tomatoes were fresh, not tinned, which would have been our preference for an english breakfast, which I thought was a considerate question. Overall, we will definitely be going back, both Bernard and Mariabelle were the best hosts and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going back.

Nothing to dislike. At all. Fantastic all round.

Bernard was an amazing host. He recommended us what places to visit, prepared great breakfasts and an amazing special English dinner just for us. He sorted out umbrellas for us and scale to weigh our bags. It was an absolute pleasure. Will come again! 😁👍
