Village location beautiful and The Bell is a lovely historical building. Staff were helpful. Food was very good - excellent selection. Room very comfortable and well-equipped.

Tried to book again for a few weeks' time and the prices increased considerably (no doubt due to school holidays) so unfortunately we're staying somewhere else on that occasion but will try again next time we're down that way.

The staff were lovely and the breakfast excellent. The village is lovely, relatively quiet and is a delight at Christmas. The bar food is relatively ordinary, but is reasonably priced and the fish and chips is particularly to be recommended

The bar has rather suffered by being “commercialised” by the new, pub-chain owners. The room was small, but it and the bathroom had good facilities. The one serious problem was that the lovely sash windows had been painted shut.

The bedrooms are very high quality  with a big comfortable bed a good hairdryer with tea, coffee and biscuits. Very good big walk in shower with toiletries and big fluffy white towels. Nice atmosphere in the pub with very friendly staff and a good menu. Breakfast was included in the price and  the cooked breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Nice quiet location. Highly recommend.

Such a lovely pub with rooms upstairs. We loved our room that was spotlessly clean and spacious with a very comfy bed and huge bathroom with a large stand alone bath! Delicious breakfast and early check in (from 2pm) and a decent check out time (11am). Such a good price for room with breakfast - excellent value! We have already recommended this place to friends.

Me and my partner stayed 1 night here last Sunday. We was met with a very friendly welcome 😀 staff were pleasant and extremely friendly 😊 room was exactly like the pictures, clean bright and very cosy. For breakfast we opted for vegetarian it came hot and well presented 👌 Kirsty looked after us pleasant girl very smart professional and chatty 😊 we look forward to visiting you all again soon !! 🥰

The radiator in our room was working however we were given an extra duvet. We soon warmed up 😅

The staff were lovely and very attentive, food was amazing especially the Sunday roast! The room was clean, comfy and peaceful. All in all, a very pleasant stay, perfect for a quiet get away…

there wasn’t anything we didn’t like, if I had to be very picky, there wasn’t a light bulb in the lamp on the desk.. but that seriously wasn’t the end of the world!

From booking in to drinks, evening meal and breakfast the following day the staff were superb. Drinks good, evening meal lovely and the breakfast absolutely superb. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. We stayed here as it was fairly close to the airport for our flight the next day. We would definitely stay again.

A delightful English village. The Bell met all our needs and at a very good price. The bar was beautifully decorated, the staff were friendly and very welcoming and our evening dinner was first class. The room was top with a super king bed and well appointed bathroom with a large shower. A very enjoyable stop over

Breakfast was fantastic & the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating when it came to anything we might have needed.

It was quite a hot evening so slept with the window open. I now know why the place is called 'The Bell', as this rang from the church over the road every hour.

Even better than last time (previously November 2022). May 2023 saw a stay improved from good to excellent. More personable & efficient staff, I found my room more suitable (important; comfortable beds on both occasions), there wasn't the noise of a pub quiz, food had a little more thought & presentation behind.
