The full English breakfast was outstanding. Without a doubt the best of our trip. It was evident the items were top quality local produce, particularly the black pudding. The room was as expected, in an older property - clean, comfortable, a touch stuffy but just in an old building way, not unpleasant. Furnishings also consistent with the building. Our host was excellent: friendly and welcoming and very organized.
Nothing we did not like. We were intrigued by all the rules and cautions in the listing and website. Made things sound rather stern. Turned out, that was intended to be clear and complete. In no way did it reflect the welcome and the care during the stay.

A lovely, little place of charm and character with friendly owners and dog (Fred). Lovely quiet location away from conurbation but close to links and not far from the M4. The rooms were a good size, very clean and comfortable bed. Liked the mains hair dryer and iron provided in the rooms and the nice bathroom and shower. Sockets had usb ports and there's free wifi. The breakfast was excellent. A very enjoyable stay.
Not much to say here. I guess the TV remote didn't work well, could've done with a couple more tea bags. Also perhaps black-out curtains needed.

Check in was a pleasant experience. I was given a rundown on how to get food and drink and where and when. I chose to eat in my room and was pleasantly surprised when the food arrived. It was hot, tasty and a good sized portion. I understand the rules about brining outside food and drink to the Hotel and think more places should adopt this. My breakfast was ordered for 7;30 and it arrived on the dot. Freshly cooked and delicious. My experience here has been better than at any of the chains I have stayed at recently.
The location was a little out in the sticks which made getting back to the motorway in the morning a bit slow. Having said that, I saw the location before I booked. With the window open the motorway could be heard but that was not a great problem.

An old-fashioned level of service and hospitality. The ‘basic’ menu offered when the restaurant isn’t open is better than most actual restaurants offer - more choice, and all very well cooked and presented. Very warm welcome on arrival and at breakfast the next morning.
An old-fashioned property also in terms of physical infrastructure. It’s a converted schoolhouse, and can feel a bit neo-gothic gloomy. Our room felt a little damp (but that may just be the terrible British summer we had??)

Absolutely wonderful stay! The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, location was perfect and very peaceful, and staff were really friendly (including gorgeous doggy Fred who always greeted me with rail wags at reception). I was away on business and often too tired to go out for food, but the menu at The Schoolhouse was absolutely fantastic, delicious food and they even delivered to my door! I'm so glad I chose to stay here! Thank you 😊

Friendly welcome and throughout stay, love Fred the dog. Good size room, decorated within keeping of the building, crisp fresh immaculately clean bed linen and towels, fabulous shower, great tasty breakfast from Tonny who is an excellent chef and great service from his wife Karen. Would stay again. Excellent value for money for B&B. Evening meal was amazing and for 3-courses of that quality, reasonably priced.
No bin in the room which was a pain, pillows flat and too hard for us, shelf for tea/coffee needs to be bigger, smell of damp in room - is old building but mentioned to Karen in case any potential ingress issue. Wine has very high mark up on the bottle for what was effectively a £8/10 bottle charged at £24, we don't mind paying £24 for a bottle of wine if this is reflected in the quality, it was nice wine but not worth £24, spirits also expensive, we had a G&T each costing £17 for the two! which is on the excessive side...for us the cost of the alcoholic drinks is a little off putting which is a shame as the food is excellent.

Both propreietors are gebuinely welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The single room was larger than most, it was well equipped with everything thing I needed and everything worked. It was clean, quiet and I had an excellent nights sleep. The evening meal when I arrived was very well cooked, presented and served, it was very good qaulity and good value. The breakfast was not quite so good - (the kippers were pre-packed and filleted) but it was still the second best breakfast out of all of the ones I had on my two weeks of travels around Scotland, England and Wales. The scrambled eggs were freshly cooked for me, they were delicious.
Personally I dislike pre packed, filleted kippers! Overall though I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, Everything was excellent quality, excellent value for my money and well worth anothet overnight stay or just for a lobely meal well cooked and served in a calm and in very pleasant surroundings.

We stayed here for a week and it was one of our best hotel experiences. The former schoolhouse has kept its charming features. The spacious and clean room had traditional furniture. It contained tea and coffee facilities and overlooked the opposite hills. We could choose between 4 different sorts of excellent breakfast. The meals we ordered for lunch were exquisite. As far as we are concerned, they deserve a star! On top of everything there was Karen who was so genuinely interested in everything we did and who gave us all the information we asked for (and more😊) In short: the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay perfect!

The welcome of the hosts was exceptional and their general easy going manner, but efficient eye for details was really appreciated by us. They were very friendly and very informative about local attractions, as well as genuinely interested in what we were doing for our stay and where we were going. It felt like home form home, but with a professional touch. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Fred, the dog, also made us welcome!
Difficult to identify anything we didn't like without it sounding like 'nit-picking'. I suppose it would have been helpful to have had a waste bin, but I think the lack of one was a 'carry-over' from first opening after Covid 19 restrictions, so understandable. Other than that everything was to our liking.

We had a super time staying at the Schoolhouse, it is a beautiful building in a very quiet setting. The location was perfect for getting about to visit places in Wiltshire. The breakfast was superb and the hosts very welcoming. It has a great cosy feel to the place. I would definitely go back, with my family or for business as the location is so good.
