Nice room with views overlooking Church. Clean & comfortable room & beds. Good shower.
There were a couple of weddings going on while we were there which was fine & expected but unfortunately a lot of door slamming happened until 4:30am, which I am very aware is not the fault of the hotel but just to make other people aware. Also, we were visiting family nearby & got taxi back to Hotel that evening but dropped at different entrance in Lydiard Park & had to walk up a very dark track to get to Hotel so just make sure your taxi driver is aware of correct entrance if venturing out!! Also, the parking is a little way from the entrance to Hotel so if Park is busy then can be difficult to find a space & can be a bit of a walk but Hotel can give you a permit so don't need to pay.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. The grounds are simply stunning, and there are lots of walks available in the area. The room was smaller than expected, but came with everything we needed; it had lots of plugs and USB charging ports. There was a speaker in the mirror which hooked up to our Bluetooth and the lighting was excellent. The bar was bright and airy, and the tea room on the grounds was lovely, and every member of staff we came into contact with, spoke to us, made us feel comfortable and was very approachable. Lydiard park had lots on, and was advertising lots more - it's incredibly family friendly and I would love to return with the children to enjoy what they have on offer!
For me, the room was slightly smaller than I would have liked.

If you remember that this is really a conference centre rather than a hotel, it's fine. The rooms are fairly small and lack some amenities you might expect (bedside lamp?) and the tiling and paintwork is not always totally professional, but there's perfect comfort, good wifi and excellent TV, a fabulous outlook from the window, and a really tremendous breakfast in the morning. The quality and variety of it took us by surprise. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. We will certainly revisit whenever we have the opportunity.
Because the guest accommodation is just one thing they do (alongside hosting events, running the house and museum, operating a cafe, etc.) it isn't quite as slick an operation as a commercial hotel chain might offer. But having stayed in several of the chain hotels not too far away, and paid inflated prices for less convenience and comfort, I think Lydiard compares favourably with anything else in West Swindon - especially for price.

Excellent location beautiful surroundings
Bit of a faff to get parking permits.. HAD TO PROMPT STAFF to issue them ....not offered spontaneously Then to return to car to display permit Not an obvious entrance to hotel Then Door to entrance bit heavy ...for someone carrying heavy bags as i was ....and distant receptionist seeming to be just looking on ,rather than a greeting /helpfulness However when needs were explicitly explained ....good friendly and helpful response I arrived tired ...wished staff were a bit more pre emptive .

The room was clean, nicely decorated. The shower was great and the bathroom mirror even has Bluetooth connection if you want to listen to music whilst having your shower. Breakfast was a buffet style with English breakfast plus yogurt and pastries and fruit salad. The hotels in a park so could have a nice walk after breakfast.
Our room was on the ground floor and a bit on the small side. Also the church bells go on for ages.

The room was situated on the second floor and was quite spacious . We had an evening meal in the bar which was very well decorated with plenty of room and although the menu choice was limited the food was tasty and good value for money although i think the dish could have done without the pile of greens which only served as a plate filler. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice to suit all dietary requirements and the staff were very pleasant. The hotel was in an ideal location with acres of parkland to explore and with the added bonus of having rooms in the mansion house alongside the hotel to take a look at for a very reasonable cost. Swindon town Centre was only a ten minute drive away
the bed was a bit firm for my liking although some people may prefer it that way and would have preferred a couple of extra pillows although i am sure if i had asked at reception they would have provided them so if i stay again i shall make sure i ask for some. My room overlooked a grave yard which didn't bother me at all but it also had what i assume to be an extraction fan for the kitchen outside which was very noisy and did wake me up very early

The location in the park was excellent. It was very quiet and peaceful. What a pleasure to wake up and walk thorugh the park. The room was comfortable and basic. There was tea/coffee in the room, wi-fi, and TV. There was a dinner menu in the bar. During our stay there wasn't a wedding but it may get a bit busier when there is one. Thurday night is bell ringing night, if you want to listen to church bells, as St. Mary's is next door.
There wasn't a hair dryer in the room. Bathroom was adequate but a hair dryer wasn't there.

Loved the amount of plugs and USB connections in the room. both rooms are well-appointed and very clean. The breakfast was of very high quality and quantity. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Would have no hesitation in recommending this facility to family or friends and will be staying at this location in the future.
Poor internet and phone connectivity

For a short stay the room was great, the bed comfy. The room looked out onto the old stables. Our evening meal was excellent and a good price. Breakfast was very good. Good choice, nice food. The surrounding parkland was stunning and great walks.
Perhaps some bits looked a little tired. And we felt sorry for the staff as it looked under manned. The parking was confusing when we arrived. Didn't realise the public parking for the park was also the hotel parking. Need some new signing. Black text on dark wood doesn't really work.
