What a great stay we had, perfect small hotel with large bedrooms excellent beds and lovely linen slept like a log. Ian and Jan were perfect hosts you won't get better, thank you for being so welcoming to us during our stay. The excellent breakfasts were something to get up for. Ian and Jan are trying out offering evening meals I hope this works out as the meals were as good "no" they were better than any of the local restaurants. I look forward to our next trip to Devon where hopefully we can get booked into the Glendower Hotel " see you soon". Nearly forgot Ian was a scooter boy back in the day and has his Lambretta TV 175 in the hotel entrance.

We loved this visit. The hosts were superb, going out of their way to make us as welcome as possible. They loaned our three year old some toys, moved our rooms without any fuss, made up a special bed for our little one and were just generally lovely. The rooms were great, really comfortable beds and all the amenities you could want, with plenty of coffee, tea, biscuits, sweets etc. The breakfast was also superb, with a delicious fry up available to order, as well as plenty of cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt etc. At any price this would have been a lovely stay. For £72, it was absolutely superb.

The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, giving lots of helpful information about the area. The room was large, well-furnished and immaculate. The stand out feature has to be the breakfast; lots of choice, whether continental or cooked, and all beautifully presented. The breakfast tea, loose-leaf and in a clever self-straining pot, was without a doubt the best tea I have ever had in a hotel. The restaurant decor was characterful and cosy. It really is a lovely place to stay.

Having to go home after just one night's stay!!

What a lovely welcoming place. Janette and Ian went above and beyond to make our stay even better. As I suffer with arthritis janette moved us to a low floor room. The room was very hot as we was lucky to stay when the weather was very warm but Ian went and got us a fan for the room which was a god send. 👍🏻. Breakfast was plentiful. Everything you want and need. From fruit , cereal and of course the fantastic full English. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast room was lovely and large so plenty of space between tables. Room was very spacious and bed was large and very comfortable. Shower was lovely and powerful and easy to use. Also they have an honesty bar in the breakfast room which is nice if you fancy a cold beer. Cannot fault the Glendower. Absolutely fantastic stay. Will definitely book again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Glendower B&B in Torquay, Devon, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The owners are incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy and relaxing environment to unwind after a day of exploring. The location is absolutely perfect, with easy access to all the local attractions and the beautiful Torquay coastline. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Served in a beautifully elegant dining room, it was a delightful way to start the day. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options that were both hearty and freshly prepared. The care and attention to detail were evident in every bite, making breakfast at Glendower a truly special moment.

The standard is more a high standard hotel than a guest house. We stayed in Room 4 which was a very big double bedroom with a good size ensuite on the ground floor which was perfect as my partner has just had a knee replacement. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming. The breakfast choice was first class and in a really lovely dining room. There was ample parking (unlike other guest houses which say parking but then only have maybe 1 or 2 spaces available). We have stayed in quite a few guest houses in Torquay but this is by far the best and we will definitely be returning.

We would normally book a hotel, but as we were in Torquay to purchase something, we only needed one night stay, so decided on a guest house. My husband was a little apprehensive; we were both pleasantly surprised, Glendower was better than some 4* hotels we have stayed at. The room was airy and spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, quality pristine bedding, immaculate bathroom, soft towels. Tea/Coffee and cake greeted us on arrival, which we were not expecting. Breakfast was also exceptional, continental and cooked available, with daily specials. Janette and Ian obviously work very hard for the enjoyment of their guests and were very easy to chat with. Free parking a bonus. Cannot fault anything and if we find ourselves in Torquay in the future will have no hesitation in booking again

Nothing , everything was perfect

My advice to anyone looking for a fabulous stay is to book this hotel! The couple that run this hotel are extremely pleasant and kind. - The location is only a short walk from the beach. - The hotel is lovely and clean and the rooms are fab! - The breakfast is amazing with a great selection The couple go above and beyond to make your stay a great one! Here are some of the things provided that you don’t get in many hotels, - Fresh milk in a flask (rather than the little cartons that don’t contain fresh milk! - A jug of iced water in your room - A selection of very nice local biscuits - They even put a nice selection of sweets in your room too! Don’t hesitate people book this place with confidence, you will have no regrets.

We had driven down from Glasgow for a family event and received a warm welcome, cuppa and a piece of lemon drizzle cake. Lovely hotel with really nice room and lots of nice touches such as sweets in room along with the usual teas/coffee/biscuits. The breakfast was outstanding and when we said we were in the mood for tapas they offered to book a lovely local restaurant for us which resulted in us getting a 10% discount on our meal which was a nice surprise.

There’s nothing to dislike, parking was adequate but tight and the only other thing was that we needed to leave at 10am which was a tad early for us.

The location of the Hotel was excellent for us within the vicinity of the Park, beach and also local pubs and restaurants. Jeanette was particularly helpful in advising where to eat and it was excellent The Breakfasts in the morning were excellent, good choice, good quality and were served fresh and hot My wife actually commented that it was the best cooked breakfast she's ever had at a Hotel!

There wasn't anything me and my wife found that we didn't like. We arrived late and couldn't park in the car park, but there was adequate parking on the road opposite
