Breakfast was really lovely and plentiful and there was a vegan cooked breakfast on request. The room was cosy and the beds were comfortable. Everything felt fresh and clean. The staff we all lovely.

We knew the head height might be limited, it was only a slight issue in the bathroom. We knew it wasn't a vegan hotel so we should have better prepared for the lack of milk for our tea in the room, we brought our own for breakfast and they stored it in their fridge. We knew the location so expected a walk. We knew the top floor so expected stairs. Not negatives for us as much as information for others to bear in mind.

The hotel was well situated on the north promenade and just 12-15 mins slow walk into the harbour area. Parking was available either on the forecourt (limited to about 6 cars or so) or via a scratchcard system. The scratch cards were available from the reception and these had to be placed in you cars windscreen, they lasted for 4 days at a time but you were restricted to a section of the north promenade opposite the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, very hot and a choice of full English/ veggie alternative, cereal, yoghurt fruit juice and tea /coffee. The restaurant had its own small restaurant/bar where a limited selection of hot meals was available and a range of beers/wine and spirits. Our room was No21 which was in the loft (up 3 flights of stairs) which was fine with us. The room was comfortable with onsuite bathroom.

Location was excellent for our needs. Bathroom in room was bigger than expected, room itself was a standard size but very clean. A painting fell off the wall & smashed whilst we were out. When I reported it the staff was happy to get this cleared up without any blame to us - which was excellent customer service. Would stay again & would recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was good, although my partners veggie breaky could've been better - sausage wasn't great & possibly undercooked both days, but that's my only negative comment over our whole stay.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable accomodation. Breakfast, was excellent, and gluten free choices provided readily. We had an evening meal on our first night and the standard was excellent once again.

We were on the top floor and the room was slightly on the small side, whilst clean and comfortable. The sea view wasn't quite as I was expecting, in that you had to sit at a high stool to enjoy the view, I had envisaged sitting in a comfortable chair, relaxing with the view in front of me. (My own fault obviously for not checking it out properly). I would have loved to have recommended the hotel to a friend who is hoping to visit Whitby soon, however the lack of a lift counts it out for them.

Good location 20 minute walk into centre. Had 3rd floor twin attic room with great sea view with a pair of binoculars provided. Room 20 was clean and comfy had to turn the radiator off as far too warm despite cold and windy November weather. Velux roof windows easy to open. Cooked breakfast was very tasty nice and hot. Sockets right next to bed one had x 2 USB charging ports. Room had a bath with shower attachment plenty of hot water and hand wash. All staff helpful and friendly.

Quite a few flights of stairs to climb to attic not suitable for anyone with mobility problems but didn't affect our stay. Couldn't fault anything about the place.

Warm welcome, free parking was a big bonus, clean rooms stocked with tea and coffee, and the perfect location for the pavillion, just a 10 min walk.

I must say that the breakfast was very nice apart from a couple of disappointments, mushrooms and hash browns weren't cooked properly, toast came out a long time before the breakfast and we weren't given any butter until it was clap cold, the server wasn't very helpful at times but the people on reception were great!

We stayed in one of their beautifully newly renovated rooms, it was very comfy, the bathroom had separate bath and shower cubicle and the little fridge kept our drinks cold, and the safe was handy for putting iPads in while we were out for the day. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner there.

Only downside was the parking, but if you get there early and get a spot you can get into town walking in 20 minutes so there is no need to move the car once parked

The staff were lovely, location is great, cleanliness excellent.

The room was really really small and didn’t look like any of the pictures we had seen prior to booking- although it was very clean and the bed was comfortable it wasn’t worth £120 a night. Be sure to contact the hotel prior to booking if a small room isn’t what you want. We didn’t stay for breakfast because the dining room was quite small but quite full so we left to have breakfast elsewhere. Also, if you’ve seen the picture of the bath- it might not be in the room! There is a communal bath on the first floor that can be used by everybody and we made the mistake of thinking the bath was in our room :( other rooms may have a bath but ours was far too small to have one in

Very friendly staff, gorgeous location overlooking the sea, clean and tidy, a good range of breakfast options. The shower was fully working and was easy to set the temperature. Working TV with a decent selection of channels.

Stairs are hard to get up with luggage with the risk of knocking something off of the wall,

Room was spotlessly clean. Fantastic sea view. Lovely breakfast. Great choice of cooked and continental. Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel well situated for walk to town.

Nothing. Only one tiny drawback. Our room was in the attic which gave a fabulous sea view but meant that the bathroom had a sloping ceiling which was fine for us being small but would be no good for tall people.
