Really friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast was lovely every morning with a good range of items including gluten free and vegetarian. Brilliant views from the dining area and a good location for coastal walks. The room was made up everyday and the housekeeping staff were great, toiletries were supplied as well as fresh dry towels, and the bins were emptied every day. There was a little shop just round the corner which had a good range of items. We used the restaurant on a few nights and again the range was good and most things on the menu could be adapted to be gluten free. The noise from the pub downstairs was not noticeable from the rooms so you could get a good night's sleep if you wanted to retire earlier than the pub closing.

The plumbing was a little noisy, if someone used water in their room at night you could hear it across the other rooms, the bed was also a little creaky but was still very comfortable.

View was amazing from deck room 7. Unique property with restaurant/pub downstairs. No problem with noise. Excellent breakfast.

The friendly attitude of the staff & making us feel welcome. They went the extra yard. The food was very good & the service excellent. The location right at the Coast & views were breathtaking. Even the howling wind didn't spoil our stay. I would recommend this place to other people, it's away from the main centre of Whitby but not far to walk 🏃 or if you are lazy the drive is less than 10 minutes. Olde world charm abounds & this is also evident in Whitby The 199 Steps challenge try it

The Annex room facilities and comfort were excellent, the checking In and out process was excellent and extremely easy. The staff were informative and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and made for an excellent night's relaxing sleep. No noise disturbances, most relaxing. The breakfast being included was a massive bonus, the choice of sundries on offer, and no real time limit in which to finish, other than checking out time, meant we enjoyed a hearty varied breakfast in an open environment before the long day ahead. We will definitely be returning!!

Personal preference re the breakfast, the oven cooked mushrooms were not to our taste, slightly too watery and rubbery, leaving them bland and quite tastless, we would have much preferred fried mushrooms

Great location, about 25 minutes walk to the whale bones. We arrived early and asked if we could leave the car, as it was too early to check in. The receptionist said this was no problem, but when she checked, our room was ready. We had an annex/cottage room. This had all the facilities you would expect. It was very clean. I didn't find the bed very comfortable though. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was very nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. The bar prices are as you would pay in any other bar.

I couldn't find anything in particular not to like, other than the uncomfortable bed.

Staff were friendly and helpful Beer garden was lovely, overlooking a golf course and the amazing coastline bedroom was nice, bed was comfortable, good nights sleep breakfast was good, plenty on offer Evening meal were nice car parking available great location for visiting Whitby

bathroom needs some work, loose tap, toilet push button missing, shower door needs adjusting as it doesn’t close very easily Drinks very expensive, large Pinot & larger £14.00 , double JD or vodka with Coke £10.50 each,

The room was great with very comfortable beds. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was delicious and so was the food in the restaurant as we decided to stay at the White House in the evening for a meal rather than walking back into Whitby and we certainly made the right decision. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The staff were all brilliant. Lovely pub area too with comfy seating and cushions.

I couldn’t fault anything except that the property is about a mile and a half/ 20 minute walk from Whitby centre.

Upon arriving the staff was very attentive, very polite and very welcoming, the rooms were very clean and spacious and had everything you needed for a short stay. The staff informed us of the late entrance and which door to come through in case your late getting back from an outing., and having Information packs in the rooms about stuff you need to know while you stay. Would definitely stay again.

There was nothing i couldnt find any faults with during my stay.

On arrival we were given a free room upgrade. It was very spacious and the view was lovely. The bed was huge and very comfortable and although the weather outside was freezing, we were toasty warm in our room. The bar area is very cosy and the fire made for a very relaxing couple of evenings. The food is great, my husband said his home made steak pie was the best he had ever had! The location of the inn is great, close access to the beach and with a pleasant walk into to the town it makes for a quiet, peaceful retreat. We have stayed here many times and will definitely return.

The power of the shower was not great.

On arrival we were impressed it was in a nice area and it looked lovley inside was very nice and it said luxury rooms so we were disappointed to find we were on an outside annex which meant immediately putting coats etc on just to go to breakfast. It was not luxury at all in fact it was very basic and old fashioned . because it was not in the main building it was also cold and felt damp. We ate at the restaurant which had a very limited menu and was very expensive for pub grub,so quite disappointed really and would not. visit again
