The owners Glenn and Suzanne are lovely and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The decor was immaculate as was the lovely Storrs Gate House itself. Breakfast is amazing and well deserving of its reward it received. This was our first guest house experience and they have really set the bar high. There was allocated parking on site and Bowness just a short walk away. Our room number 5 was lovely. Absolutely immaculate with loads of facilities including tea,coffee and biscuits. Loved the bathroom too and the white product toiletries. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Nothing to not like. Everything was spot on.

Our room was well sized and attractive. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. Because it is a small B&B, the window for breakfast is limited but we were well informed in advance. We had nice chats with other couples staying at the gate house and got ideas for tours nearby. Susan, the wife partner, was a fount of suggestions for things to do nearby and explained the handy bus system. We parked our car and did not add to the already jammed and narrow roads. The village and Lake Windemere are a short walk through a field and forest. As we left, the other owner Glenn gave us a great suggestion about our next vacation stop that led to a memorable train trip through Yorkshire Dales park.

It was unusually warm the first day and night of our stay, and since they house generally does not require A/C, it was a bit warm upstairs. We hope they follow up on the suggestion to get a couple of spare fans for future guests.

Lovely house, fantastic location within a short walk to the lake, various bars and restaurants. Close to the cruises on the lake and open topped bus tours. Breakfast was lovely, fresh ingredients, lots of choices from cereals to cooked and attentive waitress. Owners very attentive and so helpful with information and anything we may have needed. 100% would recommend and would very much visit again. Thanks Susann, Glenn and Vicky!!

Everything was brilliant. Beautiful house, clean room, with plenty of space, tea/coffee facilities, small fridge in room. Lovely bathroom accessories, wonderful breakfast, great location. Couldn't have asked for more. There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Suzanne welcomed us as soon as we arrived and showed us around and to our room which was better than the photographs show. Suzanne was very knowledgeable about the area and explained the best places to visit, all the staff were very friendly and Glenn's scrabbled egg and salmon was to die for. nothing not to like.

S and G are the perfect hosts. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering wonderful advice on where to and what to see. Made someone who was travelling on their own feel right at home! Every evening I was invited to join them and other guests for a cup of tea or glass of wine, they provided such a warm and welcoming environment for all of their guests. Every morning a full and perfectly cooked breakfast, that left me so full I didn't need to eat whilst out and about until dinner time, which was much appreciated. Will definitely be back when I'm next in the Lake District.

The bedroom was spacious and well-equipped and the bed was very comfortable, the whole guest house was very clean and well-kept, the breakfast was well-cooked and filling, and the proprieters Susan and Glenn were always very pleasant and willing to help you.

Would have been nice to have an evening meal there but I understand if the proprieters don't want the extra work this would entail for them. Otherwise, there was nothing which we didn't like.

The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet leading to a very good nights sleep. There was plenty of good, wholesome food for breakfast, and the option for a traditional English breakfast if desired. Bowness was a short walk away, which we enjoyed, taking a different route each day and seeing more of the local area.

This was our second visit and we liked the whole experience.

Susanne and Glen are welcoming hosts. Room was as described and clean. Comfortable bed and good hot shower. Varied breakfast options lovingly served. Can walk into Bowness on Windermere along the lake path. Can come and go with your own set of keys. Hosts are informed about the local area and won't hesitate to help out with tips and advice. Definitely recommend.

Susan & Glen were excellent hosts, very helpful and very informative about the local area and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and really set you up for the day, nothing was to much trouble. It is about a 15 minute walk via a path, away from the road, into Bowness-on Windermere. From Bowness you can take boat trips around the lake, hire boats. The bus service around the lakes is excellent, free if you have a bus pass! Lots of choice of excellent places to eat. I can certainly recommend staying here and would like to return at some point in the near future.

Nothing bad to say

Very comfortable bed, shower was great. Garden gorgeous, breakfast delicious. Hosts knew the area really well and were very informative with great advice. Hosts were very friendly.

1 reed diffuser too many in the hallway for me; smelt lovely, but a little overpowering! My only complaint and it's a minor one at that!
