Large room & wet room, big comfortable bed had an excellent nights sleep, very quiet. Everything looks clean & modern but cosy. Kettle & coffee machine provided with ample supplies & biscuits. Only nine rooms set on one side of courtyard with parking directly outside. Attractive looking beer garden, bar & restaurant a few steps across the courtyard with friendly service & serving delicious food. We had the Turkey pie & jerk pork, followed by the chocolate dessert of the day, a very rich torte, it was all reasonably priced & yummy. Breakfast included in the overnight price is cereal, yoghurts, full English or omelet. The countryside surroundings are very picturesque. Stopped for one night on our way down to Cornwall & wish we had booked for a night on the way back, would most definitely recommend.

Lovely rooms, great facilities super comfy bed and very clean, being in the grounds of the Pub is a big bonus good food and drink in a family friendly place, Kate and her team were Fab, nothing was too much little touches like extra biscuits and hot chocolate for the kids was kind. The location is great for exploring both Somerset and the Jurassic coast.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, our expectations based on price and the information provided on Booking.com were exceeded.

Room was extremely spacious with a comfy queen size bed. There was a desk/chair housing tea/coffee/biscuits with an additional table and chairs for seating. Plenty of lighting options available to suit your mood and a built in wardrobe. The bathroom was large and a powerful shower which had a hot temperature if needed. Having it's own entrance and being able to park outside was a bonus. There is also an additional table and 2 chairs outside and undercover where you can sit outside. The breakfast was very good and of excellent quality. A hot offering of full English or omelette with toast, fruit juice, tea/coffee, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Fantastic service by all staff throughout my visit. Meals available in the evening which range from popular pub dishes to some with a Caribbean twist. The menu looked reasonably priced. The flying fish was a gem of a find and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you to everyone at The Flying Fish for providing a wonderful place to stay.

It was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and our room was ready, fully equipped with en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. The location is ideal for visiting neighbouring towns and beaches. The food served was fresh and tasty, very well prepared and presented. Also, there’s a great Italian restaurant 7 minutes drive away from there.

The only downside was how early breakfast was, would have preferred it to be from 8am-10am as opposed to 7:30-9am. It’s just sometimes when you’re away you don’t always want to wake up too early. But other than that, our stay was great!

Huge rooms and in particular the bed... Spotless and very comfortable. The location is quiet and tranquil... I will come back in the summer and make use of the beautiful beer garden. Staff are really welcoming and bring a lovely Caribbean flavour to this corner of Somerset. There's something unique about starting your day to a full English breakfast accompanied by a bit of Bob Marley! I didn't sample the main evening menu this stay but have in the past and the food is amazing.

My husband and I stayed at the stables for one night on the way from Manchester to Devon. Quiet location. We didn't hear the neighbours at all. It was very quiet in the room. Very easy access, and the owners were flexible to allow later arrival. A really big room and very spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. The beds were comfy. Breakfast was good, too. Lovely coffee. We will be here again in 3 months.

Our apartment was clean, although some hair was on the bathroom floor. The lock on the bathroom door is a bit noisy if you need to use it at night. Although all these are only very minor points and wouldn't put me off from coming back to the stables.

Location was fine. Bed v comfortable. Large room. Big bathroom. Good wine list. Staff friendly but some odd attitudes.

It is a motel. Not aesthetically pleasing. No bathroom soap. A very large menu for a small kitchen so microwave features largely so things like vegetables fairly tired. The smallest helping of mushroom ever seen for a cooked breakfast although I didn’t order sausage or bacon. We were asked to pay for dinner on the first night although staying two nights which we found odd. We paid when we left.

Kate and Buddy make the perfect "Mine Hosts". Nothing is too much trouble for them. They even make time during the busy periods not only to ask if everything is okay, but sit for a few minutes for a chat. The behind the scenes staff are friendly and professional, again, nothing is too much trouble for them. The menu on offer is second to none, and the accommodation is spacious, incredibly clean, and well appointed. The views from the accommodation towards the Blackdown hills are stunning. The location is well-placed for easy drives to the East Devon coastal towns, and other locations, for instance, Clarks Village Outlet Shopping at Street.

I cannot think of anything that could have been improved upon.

Room facilities were very good. The breakfast was Full English with buffet juices, fruits, yogurts and bread/toast with choice of teas or coffees.

Slightly remote location. The pub restaurant food was disappointing and rather expensive and loaded with Caribbean dishes. Good choice ciders limited draft beer choices. Table could been cleaner ours was quite sticky.

Beautiful peaceful area, hosts and staff excellent especially the young Welsh waitress who served us dinner and breakfast! Food delicious. Room spotless and had everything we needed. We definitely made an excellent choice of place to stay and would highly recommend, wished we could have stayed longer but will definitely return in the future.

Nothing not to like at all.
