Improvements we thought would make it better 1, Give one breakfast card per person to fill out 2, a box of tissues in the room 3, a light over the mirror in the bedroom so you can see to do hair/make-up 4, a shelf in the shower to put shower gel on 5, non-slip mats available for the shower. To state on the advert that food is not served every evening

British hospitality at its best. I was totally charmed by this rural escape. I was staying in what was apparently the smallest room but it was a decent double for an older property and plenty of space for me. Beautifully decorated with a stunning new bathroom, but in a traditional pub. A really lovely balance of quaint old tavern with pretty style and comfort. But the highlight for me was the lovely team. They could not have been more welcoming and made me feel properly looked after while giving me the space to work and relax. I enjoyed the most declious supper in the restaurant and breakfast was just as good. My epic slice of Sticky toffee pud will make me smile for weeks to come! I will return.

If you are looking for modern anonymity in a city centre, this may not be for you, but for me the Hatch Inn was perfect in every way.

Everything about The Hatch Inn was absolutely perfect in my opinion. The room was cosy and warm and well maintained and tidy. The shower was powerful. i forgot my hair drying and found one in the wardrobe which was an absolute life saver. The room came with a huge variety of teas and coffees. The inclusive breakfast was absolutely amazing and beyond expectations. A quiet little village that felt in the middle of no where but also only short drive from Taunton town (10 minutes). will definitely be returning to try legendary roast dinner. Thanks again.

The floor boards are a-bit noisy but i would not expect anything less from an 18th century building. not a single complaint.

Such a beautiful inn. The room itself was clean, tidy, and the temperature was perfect. The bed was super comfy and I loved the sheets! Great facilities including a top quality shower, toiletries, tea and coffee plus fresh milk bottles. This was only 12 minutes from Taunton Racecourse, and plenty of parking. The food was super-tasty. The breakfast was served fresh, with tea and coffee. I ordered a chickpea curry which was filling and the best I have had for a while. I was so full I couldn’t have pudding (but wish I did). The drink selection was vast - and I loved their wines. The best part was the staff. From the moment I got there I was made to feel welcome, and they walked me to my room. From breakfast to dinner, check-in to check-out this was the best service I have ever had. I will 100% come again.

Good car park , friendly team , we had 2 of the 5 bedrooms for our stay and they were beautifully presented . Clean , warm and comfortable beds , quiet night . Additional facilities such as tea , coffee , water , biscuits and fresh milk were a lovely touch . Dinner was really good, the mussels were delicious and the calamari was fresh , tender and cooked in a crispy batter . The steak pie and chickpea / cashew nut curry were equally delicious. Very attentive service throughout. Breakfast ( we had the full English ) was nicely presented and good quality . Overall an absolute must to visit if you’re travelling on as we were to Falmouth the next day . Oh and the bar had a great atmosphere for a pre dinner drink . Thank you very much x

Room was massive and well equipped. It was great to have access to fresh milk. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was on a pre order but was fab. I ate in the restaurant on the second night (the kitchen is closed on a Monday but there is a place for food literally up the road). The food was great value and the best treacle tart I've had since I was about 8! I sat by the fire in the bar with a glass of red and it felt like I was in the film 'the holiday'. Will definitely return

While there are normal roads leading up to the Hatch Inn my sat nav took me a totally different way which was all single track roads and was terrifying! I am a city girl though. Totally not the fault of the Hatch Inn and staff were great at advising at alternative routes.

Highly recommend this pub and accommodation, lovely quiet location, owners are very welcoming friendly and helpful people.The full English Cooked breakfast delicious. We had 2 different rooms on our visit they are both spacious with a good sized shower room, there is a desk and seating area looking out of nice bay window, a kettle with tea and coffee biscuits fresh milk in fridge outside door. Evening meal in the pub was delicious, nice atmosphere good to relax in and the steak pie melted in the mouth, burger and cheesy chips very tasty too. Would definitely return to stay here and have a meal or just go to pub for meal if in area such a wonderful place. Easy location to the main road.

The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I ate in the bar in the evening and had a delicious, reasonably-priced meal. Breakfast was also really delicious with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Yorkshire tea in the room and fresh milk in a fridge on the landing was a really nice touch. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and looked as good as new. The bed was really comfortable.

The WiFi in the bedroom was excellent at the vanity desk by the door, but less convincing further into the room. Some herbal tea in the room would have been welcome.

We were in the “cosy double” which was an attractively furnished room, with what looked like a recently decorated en-suite, and was in immaculate condition. The lady who greeted us, and later looked after us for dinner, was very friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. Even though the pub was full with diners, service was excellent, and the food enjoyable. A nice touch was a little fridge outside the bedrooms, containing small bottles of fresh milk, so we could make tea and coffee in our room, avoiding the use of long-life sachets. The choice of cooked breakfasts was very good, and well cooked.

The landlord and landlady were welcoming and helpful. The bar staff were excellent and were friendly and attentive, The pie I had for supper was arguably one of the best I have ever had. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, The ale was well kept. I loved the old ambience of the building but also liked the modern additions such as a fridge for fresh milk for tea and coffee making in rooms. An outstanding Inn. Thankyou to all who made it such a special stay.
