An older hotel w/ a good Vibe. It's a little quirky, but as close to downtown as you need to be. Lots and lots of restaurants and such is well within walking distance. Our room, 207 was of a decent size with two very comfortable beds. The staff is just great. Very easy going and eager to please!
There was an air handler in the bathroom ceiling that ran and ran and ran. Thank God for ear plugs. The shower was slow to drain. Not a huge issue, but one of my very few pet peeves. The old gal is showing some age, but you can tell she is well loved and we have an appreciation for that kind of "patina."

Beautifully preserved old inn with tangible historic value. Lovely patio, beautiful authentic yet comfortable rooms and very close to city centre. Lovely ladies at reception - very welcoming.
This wonderful old building has an interesting layout - so the elevator (which already is great it’s there seeing the age of the building) does not go all the way to the top floor. You’ll have to take a flight of stairs to reach top floor - this does not impact 1 and 2nd floors. Kind receptionist explained directions clearly. Not a problem for us at all, but something to keep in mind when booking, if you have heavy luggage just let them know.

Service was great as we booked a room with wrong amount of beds and we were able to switch for free to a larger room. Additionally, the spot looks amazing and is located perfectly, really close to the downtown area. The room was clean and comfy, including both the beds and other furniture.
The floor was covered with something, unclear exactly what. It might have been polish for the wooden floor or something but it was fairly fatty and stuck to our shoes and socks. If it's intended to buff up the floor is suggest switching. Furthermore, a little fridge would be nice in the room.

the property has a lot of charm and is very beautiful. it was just what we were looking for, for our kids to experience a little bit of history. it was clean. there’s not much to do in the area, we were just passing through, bums across the street so we didn’t want to walk to the close restaurants near by, ordered pizza instead. the staff were amazing! AMAZING! very kind, always greeting us with a smile, gave us some history on the place. my only complaint is on the booking site I booked a king suite and the photos led me to believe we were getting a room with a beautiful 4 post bed and fireplace. we actually got the king suite that is supposedly haunted that’s upstairs above the lobby. 007. cute room but not nearly as charming as the photos. I guess a bridal party had booked those. also pretty sure the only thing haunting the place is a wee mouse. it’s to be expected with such an old building. my daughter left one of her tshirts in the bathroom to dry(rain storm)laid over the tub edge. in the morning there were bite marks and holes chewed in the shirt. please know the staff were excellent and they are running on minimal staff like everyone these days, but they were very kind and helpful!

The atmosphere of the hotel is stunning. With it's colonial style it is worth spending a night here for the experience.
The rooms are a bit worn out by now. They could use a little renovation. I'm not talking about the furniture, because it is part of the unique vintage style, but thanks to the high humidity you can smell the mold inside and it is very unpleasant. The old ventilation system is terribly loud. Do yourself a favor and bring earplugs. There is no fridge in the room, which is a pity.

We needed a comfortable and convenient place to lay our heads for a few nights. We came to Mobile for a sad occasion, the funeral service of a loved one. Staying at Malaga Inn took some of the sting out of the visit. We had stayed there years previous and found it quaint & relaxing, because of it location downtown. We were very pleased that rooms were available for this stay. The Receptionist, Arnette, I believe that's her name , was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She directed us to a wonderful delicious restaurant that served Seafood. Which we went to on our first night. Our room was comfortable & clean . Next time we might book a Suite. We would recommend Malaga Inn to our friends and family. Good service. Thanks.
I can't find any that I didn't like. Maybe a better occasion to visit the City for. Happier times, not funerals.

I like that the hotel was close to the interstate, the room was extra large, and so was the bathroom. I was particularly amused at the reality that the building has a long history, the rooms are decorated differently, and the building is well-kept. And by the way, my favorite thing about this hotel is that you get a regular and old-fashioned metal key to open and lock your door. It felt good to open a door with something electronic. More importantly, the ladies at the front desk were very cordial and helpful. I will not hesitate to come back to this hotel should I find myself in Alabama again.
Nothing to complain about.

The property is not for everyone. It is furnished with older (antique) pieces and it's motif is old fashion for certain. Ideal location to restaurants and shopping. It is a shame that the ownership is not taking the necessary steps to utilize the property to the potential that it exhibits. The employees that I that I dealt with were very professional and helpful.
Lack of simple amenities such as coffee.

Historic rooms and lush courtyard were beautiful. Staff were courteous and especially helpful when I discovered a dead battery in my car. Lots of personal attention and support.
Can't think of anything. It's a historic property, so people not looking for that kind of property might not be as satisfied. But it's got everything a contemporary guest would need.

Parking - Parking was a bit cramped when we arrived but luckily found a tight spot in the back. Hotel - Old architecture with a lot of charm, especially the courtyard area. Room - The room was very comfortable and spacious
Hotel - The elevator is small and old, was rather jerky one the way up Room - In the bathroom, there is a separate door for the toilet. However, there was not a handle for it, just an open hole where the handle should be. Replacing one of these isn't hard or expensive so I am not sure why this was not done.
