Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff

The rooms (basically a small two bedroom apartment) were very comfortable. It was great for a family of five (three kids under 5). Very peaceful and the kitchen included a real coffeemaker, large refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The complex is also an easy hour plus drive to the Grand Canyon and a great self-sufficient space to rest without feeling like you’re in a hotel. It was perfect for our road trip.

There is a lot of COVID Safety theater. COVID is transmitted through aerosols, so the whole idea of not being able to get your own breakfast or have your room tidied by a masked member of the staff is essentially cost-saving changes dressed up as your safety. If safety were really the priority, they would do more than suggest masks in small, indoor spaces (like the breakfast area, where many travelers were unmasked) or install air purifiers in those spaces, etc…. If they are unwilling to require masks or proof of vaccination indoors, simply go back to normal daily room fluffs and let people select their own bagels.

A different main bfst entree was provided each day in addition to usual offerings and all were very good. You also have a full kitchen in your suite. The lobby/front desk had wine and beer on draft for purchase for your evening enjoyment. There are grills and outdoor tables to enjoy the lovely pool and courtyard area, a basketball court to shoot hoops, and a hot tub. Indoors you have a workout facility and a business center. Your suite has a sofa which flips out to a full size bed. (We didn’t realize that) We were taking our college student to get settled and it was a home away from home!

Lighting in sitting area could have been better for reading.

This property is a jewel - it's across from a golf course and in front of a mountain, and has access to miles of trails so if you're traveling with dogs, this is the best. The rooms are large, have a full working kitchen, and full bathtubs. The pool is large and the pool/hottub area are clean and inviting. The central building/breakfast lounge is the same - clean and inviting. The breakfast is good. The best part about traveling through Flagstaff on business is knowing I will get to stay here. Oh, and the staff is above and beyond when it comes to accommodating weary travelers and our many extra requests and needs.

I really have no complaints.

We enjoyed having a fire log every night to burn. The set up of the room was awesome having bedrooms and doors to shut. The jacuzzi tub outside and basketball court for the kids to play. The pull out couch for someone to lounge in the living room. There is a laundry facility on site that was perfect to use. It uses an app and times your washer and dryer for you. So you know exactly when to go down. The little store they have to purchase items was convenient. Breakfast was perfect. They had the cutest little bags to go and a bunch of items to chose from.

The furniture was hard and old. There was not enough sitting space for everyone to watch tv in the living room area. They didn’t have housekeeping come to the room so we had to get towels everyday and take out trash and vacuum our own floors. When I’m vacation no one wants to clean their own room.

We liked the location. it felt safe and was easy to access. we liked the spaciousness of the suite. kitchen and living area were great for meals and gathering. it was bright and cheery. Everything worked well. workout room and pool etc were great. high quality gym equipment which we used every day. staff very friendly and helpful.

our suite was super clean but had a couple condition issues which included frayed carpet and duct tape on the floor. and it smelled as if there had previously been a smoker in there. Kitchen equipment and amenities could have been a little better. (toaster, salt and pepper packets, coffee creamer packets, etc)

Very nice little suite for how much we paid! I was not expecting a suite with a nice kitchen unit! Also loved the privacy of it!

I'm a few months pregnant so I already have a hard time sleeping. The bed and pillows (this is just a personal preference) were very uncomfortable. Good quality, just very used and worn out in spots. Also the walls were SO thin. I could hear activities from next door. In the evening, a unit near us was definitely smoking weed. Whenever our heater turned on, it smelt so strongly of weed. I'm pregnant and did not want that in the room. We ended up turning off the heat for the evening.

Everything in suite was ready and clean. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen with dishes and utensils, large refrigerator. Glad that the kitchen had toaster and microwave. Being Covid time, breakfast was grab and go back to the room, so the appliances helped prepare bagels and english muffins.

Two dispensers in the shower were empty: no body soap or conditioner, only shampoo was available. One morning the shower did not have much hot water--I think guests in upper suite had used it up, or there is a problem with water heater for those units not providing as much hot water as is needed sometimes.

Nice rooms with full kitchen. Apartment style with independent entrance for each room. Location is close to many restaurants and shopping and a golf course. Staff were very nice and called me right away when they found my purse I had left inadvertently. It was unbothered and I am very appreciative to them!

The only downs are if you are there for downtown Flagstaff, you’re a bit away from it and the price is a bit high

Safe, quiet location away from the tourists, students & vagrants. Great hot tub, fluffy towels.

Comforter not big enough for king size bed-it barely covered the top of the bed, leaving my tall husband with cold feet. Sofa small, uncomfortable & raggedy. After several days I requested clean towels, a roll of toilet paper & for our trash to be pulled but it never happened. I finally went to the office for towels, hijacked a roll of toilet paper from a cleaning cart & put our trash on the sidewalk. They only clean your unit if you stay 7 days but there is no broom or dustpan in the unit for you to be able to tidy up. We stayed 6 days, cooking & eating in the room, so it got messy!

thankful for breakfast accommodating staff, gave us an extra chair for our dinner guests. loved the wood-burning fireplace, however the fireplace glass broke (shattered) while in use. Hopefully we don't get charged, the glass broke on its own.

there was not even 1 extra paper towel roll or tissue roll in the room. on 3 separate occasions a housekeeper walked right in our hotel room which was kind of embarrassing. They apologized and left quickly, saying they intended to go to the room across from ours (not sure if it was a different housekeeper each time, it was too brief to memorize their face.)
