Blue Dolphin Inn

We enjoyed walking right across the street and having the boardwalk and beach so close. The breakfast was unexpected, very nice, and packaged to go anywhere. My wife was surprised there was no air conditioning The room was quiet, comfortable, and we left relaxed and totally unwound from city life in SoCal - we love Slo (slow) Cal!

My wife was surprised there was no air conditioning (she's Vietnamese) so I explained that the building was probably constructed before it even existed. Also, it's so close to the ocean that it would be a rare day to even need it - there was a fan in the room just in case.

The location was BEAUTIFUL. I had the ocean view patio room, and I loved being able to lay in bed watching the waves and watching the sunset over the ocean with my partner on the patio love seat. I also appreciated the wine glasses, silverware, and corkscrew in the room

The breakfast was mediocre. The bathtub, was nice until we tried turning on the jets, at which point the water turned blue as if some cleaning solution hadn’t been rinsed properly; we had to get out of the bath and rinse off in the shower. Lastly, the groundskeeper leaf-blowing the patio was looking at/in our windows while we were in the room, which felt pretty uncomfortable

The rooms were very spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The Inn was extremely quiet even though the rooms were full. The location is amazing. Depending on your room, you can have an ocean view, a partial ocean view, or no view. The ability to wake up and have your breakfast delivered and the time you specify is outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit.

Not a lot to say here, don't remember any big complaints! Thinking what to mention - price was quite high, more than we expected, a bit lower price may motivate to visit more often! Also would appreciate more tea options!

We love coming here since it’s a quiet and quaint hotel right on moonstone beach. The location is perfect and the size of the rooms are great. We also love that they offer a breakfast option delivered to your room every day. The giant tub in the room was also nice for someone who is tall like me. Unfortunately there was a mix up with our reservation and they though we were coming two days later. Fortunately the lady at the front desk was able to accommodate us and even was able to give us a better room. We were happy that we weren’t going to have to go some place else. We really appreciate her giving us the option.

The cellular reception is basically nothing but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It made it difficult to call to local restaurants and the phone in our room was not working (I mean who uses landlines anymore). They have free WiFi which was good for texting and internet use.

Breakfast in the room was excellant, the patio and ocean view were wonderful, and the staff was supportive. Only mother nature interrupted some of our plans with rain. Although the price was competitive I find it expensive, inflation!

A small table in the room for the breakfast would have helped. We brought in the small patio table which worked.

This property is a gem for older travelers looking for a better-quality room among less well-appointed accommodations along Moonstone Beach Drive in Cambria. Their breakfast included a delicious breakfast burrito option and was delivered to the room.

Price per night was slightly higher than a couple of nearby options, but less than some others I considered. (I'm really stretching to come up with something I didn't like!!)

This property is decorated & furnishes with very good taste and to a high standard. The bedroom was of a good size with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Guest fill in a card with their choices for breakfast and the time they would like delivered to their bedroom, you hang your card outside your door When it arrives you then eat it in your room. . This was a covid protection method. A few yards along the road is an excellent Restaurant.

This hotel was in a great location across from Moonstone Beach. The sounds of the ocean while sleeping was wonderful. The room was actually nicer than it looked online. The decor was fresh and up-to-date.

There were only a couple small kinks. The coffemaker was a tad more complicated than expected. The other issue was the t.p. The quality was so cheap. The paper was the thinnest and roughest I've used.

The room and location are always exceptional. Most of the staff are as well!

Breakfast should be better. A simple fruit and a hard or soft-boiled egg as opposed to a wrap would be easier and more welcome than the eggs fried with onions and bell peppers inside a wrap accompanied by a can or orange juice. Also, serving tea (hot water and tea bags) in addition to coffee would be helpful, given that there are no places around to get a quick cup of tea.
