Our one night stay was wonderful! First of all, the Reception desk was very welcoming. Check-in was a breeze. The room was spacious with a wonderful view and the bed was comfortable. It was all very clean but could do with a few up-to-date touches. Sitting around the pool (cold water) was nice, especially to see the sunset. You can't get any closer to the water! We ate dinner at the on-premises restaurant which was very good! The service was great too. The breakfast in the morning included all the normal help yourself items and the offerings were substantial. There is just enough parking and we didn't have any problems with this going in and out. I recommend the Cliff House Inn when you are in the area. We will be back!

There was nothing to complain about. The rooms could use an update.

The setting on the beach is amazing and the courtyard with the nice pool and the restaurant is also great! The staff was eager to please. Definitely should try the banana Reef for dessert. Can't say enough about being right on the water. No beach, just surf crashing on the rocks.

The rooms are average at best with aging furniture. Continental breakfast was nothing special for the price of the room. Beds are kind of hard and the pillows we're not that good either. It's a little difficult to get to but it's definitely worth it if you want to stay on the ocean. For the price, you're paying for nothing but oceanside access because the amenities are not that great. It is the second time we stayed and we will stay again but I wanted to be honest about what you get. I'm not complaining. You are right on the water so room quality was easy to overlook.

The location is absolutely amazing right at the cliff and with fantastic views to be enjoyed when in the restaurant, in the garden or from the pool. The breakfast is ok and can be enjoyed at the pool appreciating the nice views. The restaurant has amazing options and a very friendly service. For those that enjoy Margaritas, definitively a must to be enjoyed in the garden with the great views. The rooms provide you with all the basics.

Whilst the rooms provide all the basics they are a little tired and could use a renovation, especially the bathrooms.

This place is a gem, the staff was so kind and so sweet. The rooms are so clean it feels like a little family. The restaurant is the best food I had in a while. The scallops were so good, the best I ever had. The bed was so comfortable we slept great, my son said this was the best be he ever slept on from a hotel. The only one suggestion is that around the pool area they should clean the concrete lots of poop from the birds. Truly a little gem getaway.

The view of course was exceptional. The room was adequate. The food was amazing the restaurant did an excellent job on the food. The patio was very inviting.

The bathroom was a bit small for an upgraded room. The room I started with had a bathroom that was decent size. I was upgraded to a different room because maintenance was going to be working in the original room I was a bit disappointed by the size of the upgraded bathroom. The shower and the toilet area was the size of a telephone booth two separate telephone boots. I didn't say anything to management because it wasn't upgrade and I was just thankful for the view.

The continental breakfast was fine—the eggs, bagels, cereal were fresh and the coffee cakes just baked. My husband, who is a coffee aficionado, really loved the coffee. People who enjoy old-style California hotels, ocean-side pool swimming, responsive and cheerful staff, a really terrific restaurant next door and a good night’s quiet sleep, will love their stay too.

We couldn’t imagine a better stay than the one we had.

During the week they offer a continental breakfast that's included in the room rate. It's more than substantial and offers coffee/tea, hard boiled eggs, and an assortment of bagels, toast, pastries, etc. The rooms are much improved since the last time we stayed here many years ago. They aren't very large but are comfortable and clean. The rooms have a refrigerator, TV, and good storage space. However, the view of the ocean and hearing the waves at night makes the room pale in comparison, and why you want to stay here to begin with. The on-site restaurant serves wonderful food at dinnertime and brunch on weekends. The Eggs Benedict was superb and both nights we ate there the food was excellent. It's a great place to swim, relax, sunbath, and just sit by the water to contemplate how you should be doing this more often.

The room was comfortable, but wished the bed was a little firmer. It can be a bit noisy after 9:00am on the weekends since the pool is right under the rooms. If you're an early riser it's not a problem.

The view is great and beautiful property. The staff was really nice.

The gardener was watering and blowing for 2 hours around sunset when we would have liked to enjoy our dinner out on the grass and watch the sun go down. I feel like this could have been done at a more appropriate time or even overnight on a timer. Also even though the hotel was fairly empty there were people above and next to us making noise keeping us up.

Free Breakfast was great! The morning view was the best and the hot toast and bagels were wonderful. We even enjoyed the gulls trying to steal food.

One day were given extra towels for the pool. The next day the desk clerk told us he could not give us extra towels until we returned the original towels. Different day different policy because of the desk clerk. I guess.

Amazing views! Ocean waves while we slept. pool amazing...onsite restaurant was absolutely fantastic.

Dated rooms ..no air conditioning..bathrooms need serious renovations. Mold along window seals just needs a good scrubbing and please change the window shades they are stained yellow easy fix. Humidity in rooms despite being near ocean.
