Arrived a little late (1900) & had to phone to obtain instructions to get key. We were in room 2 which had a parking space in front. We were kindly treated by a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our anniversary which was a lovely surprise! The shower was in a step over bath which had plenty of hot water. You could hear traffic noise from the nearby highway but it didn’t keep us awake. (Earplugs were provided) We walked to the bar down the road & had a steak sandwiches which were very good. ( Beware everywhere closes by 9pm) There is no breakfast provided but there was a 10% off voucher provided to a place down the road which was ok. Handy 7-11 nearby. Didn’t use the small on site pool.

Bed was very soft - everything else was great

Very charming, cosy place to stay with a rustic/retro vibe. It’s clear they have thought about your needs and have put a lot of care into making it comfortable and welcoming for guests. A quick walk got us delicious Mexican food at Zorro’s, and the ocean is also easily reached on foot.

It’s located along the 101 where you won’t get a great view and will hear traffic - not a complaint because it was to be expected. They kindly provide ear plugs on your bedside tables should you require.

We booked the hotel last minute as we were not sure where we would be on our California road trip! This hotel was a great find, I read the excellent reviews and thought will book and we were not disappointed! The rooms were accessible from the carpark, cosy, homely and they thought of everything. Nice coffee, little complimentary touches, makeup station, comfortable bed, fridge, popcorn for film watching! Hotel is so convenient to Pismo beach and getting back on the road. Well done, a great stay!

Everything! Honestly had the nicest stay, and we really didn’t want to leave. We were so looked after from start to finish. The facilities were 5 stars. The bed was insanely comfortable. Everything felt luxurious with the accommodation. We were sorey we didn’t have time to use the pool, but it looked lovely. Parking was a breeze. The sunset at the Dinosaur Caves (a few minutes stroll from the hotel) was one of the best we have seen. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars in walking distance. And Pismo beach was a matter of minutes in the car. Thank you so much Shell Beach. Highly recommend!

One thing. When in the bed we slept opposite of how the bed was set up. Head at the foot of the bed. Feet at the head of the bed. Something didn't feel right. I'm thinking it is because the hotel is on the side of a hill. Maybe it's at a slant...not sure. But it was a great stay and the beds were very comfortable. Would go back.

- location: beautiful mountains as soon as you step outside your door. - Sara was really helpful and had really good communication. supplying us with everything you need. - rooms are well decorated and bed is comfortable. - room had nice touches like a book shelf, board games, microwave popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, towels, make up wipes, the list goes on. really thoughtful items. - coupons given: had one of the best breakfasts of our holiday at Zorro’s. we wouldn’t have known about it if Shell beach didn’t share the coupon. coupon for the store next door too and everyone there was so lovely and polite. - pool available - shower had good pressure

That we couldn’t stay longer!

Staff was super friendly upon arriving! She gave me a tour of the room, showed me how the blinds worked, and made sure my key worked. I arrived later than expected so it was nice of her to cover all the bases before she took off for the night. We were also upgraded to a King for the night! The room was so cute, boho chic, updated everything, CLEAN, not like any normal "INN or MOTEL" but really a GEM! The Sheets were amazingly soft and comfortable, I didnt wanna get out of bed! The location is walkable to coffee shop and food, the shore, a park w walking trail, and right next door to a liquor store w deli that stay open until 11pm! Score! About a quick 10 min/less drive to Downtown Pismo, too! This will definitely be my Pismo home away from home! OH! how could I forget the cutest little pool, upgraded with beautiful outdoor seating, heater, lighting and music. Comfy towels and blankets were already at the pool to enjoy until 10pm! It was perfect for a night swim under the full moon!

I have been visiting Pismo Beach for many years and I have stayed at many hotels, but the Shell Beach Inn has to be my favorite ❤️ I was so impressed with the staff & the thoughtful touches in the rooms & pool side.

The property has recently been updated beautifully decorated, very clean, a staff member walks you to your room at check-in & answers any questions you may have. Restaurants & shopping within walking distance.

it was a very spacious room, and although the location was in the center of everything pismo, it was a very quiet space and nice location to bring a boyfriend or a girlfriend maybe even a husband or wife for a weekend‘s stay. I will definitely be coming back. I will definitely recommend.

It was the best. Connie met us when we checked in and gave us a tour of the property. She was so friendly and warm. The room was perfect. We really enjoyed the “homey” feeling and they had a ton of extras which we loved! Ex: little cooler for ice, a real coffee maker, coffee cups, fresh bottled water, popcorn and candy. We were so happy here! Would go back a thousand times!
