It's a historic building in a great location. High-end feel to it. The room was pretty big and quiet, good bed, decent view. The Tonga bar is definitely worth checking out, although the drinks there are terrible.
$400 a night and Wifi is not included in the price! Come on, it's 2024 now and I haven't seen any other hotel charge for wifi in years.

Fairmont is a very high quality hotel as you step through the doors with beautiful marble pillars. We thought it was just to big for our liking you get lost very quickly. The bedrooms were clean and well kept although felt a little dated but this is an iconic hotel. It is situated in the best place to see and explore San Francisco on the trolleys with cafes and restaurants within 8 minutes walk.
Having to pay extra for wifi and bottled water, every hotel we've been in you get that free and this is not a cheap hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Nice cafe.
Had trouble with the safe. That’s fine. Things happen. But no one answered the phone for us. Called the concierge and front desk. Had to dress and go to the desk to get help. It was a struggle for the front desk to figure out where the ice was on my floor too. Charging for wifi? And charging exorbitantly? It costs you nothing and makes you look cheap. Charge a bit more and include it.

We were in a suite in the original building. Fantastic balcony over looking SF sky line. Comfortable balcony furniture. Bed and pillows really comfortable. Room clean.
Limited in room coffee and tea option. Had to go to coffee bar to ask for milk. Jet lag had us up early. Lady in coffee bar not friendly at all about providing a drop or two of milk. Cost of food and beverages obscene. £11 for a coffee. 3 pastries and one coffee cost $46 without tip. In uk which is currently having cost of living crisis we’d only pay about £15-£17 which is around $25 max. One bowl of rice in restaurant either taxes and tips came to €35. We just weren’t prepared to pay those dirt of prices after paying over £1500 for 2 nights.

Room 90 - Fantastic view of the city, large very comfortable bed, bathroom with a walk-in shower as well as bath tub that we requested. On check-in we were told we had a room upgrade - great apart from the fact it was next to the noisy lift.
Room 90 (adjoining building) is noisy - it’s next to the busy and noisy lift, expect to hear it late at night/early morning. We didn’t complain as we had a busy schedule with no time to move rooms - even if that was possible. Bar staff rude!

The hotel is a beautiful work of art. There is a regal feeling when you step onto the Fairmont establishment. The hotel had its grand christmas tree and wonderfully fragrant gongerbread house. The stary was great! We had an excellent hamburger from room service at 12:00pm. It was hot, juicy and delightful. The fries were excellent and crispy as well. The dinner and breakfast brunch at Laurel Court seamed a bit dull and overprices in comparison to the food from room service.
Food at Laurel Court needs something "special". Prime rib was cut a bit thin for the $75 price tag. Brunch was good, but not excellent for the $45 plus all the other extra costs they tack on to the bill.

Hotel is beautiful. Everything felt easy (and often times in SF things are not easy.) Staff were setting up the giant life-sized gingerbread house in the lobby and it smelled wonderful. Nob Hill felt safe and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. We enjoyed our adjoining rooms (7 women staying together for a concert) and we had a great dinner and drinks at the Tonga Room downstairs. I would love to stay here again while in the City.
Parking is so darn expensive. We were prepared and our group carpooled, (it was not our first time staying in SF, ) but it is pretty wild how much it is to park your car.

I liked how it was perfectly located for me to travel almost everywhere I wanted to go by foot. Close to the city, but also close to the wharf and north beach. Beautiful, old historic building with a tonne of character.
I think lots of the space in the hotel was wasted. For example, I’ve never stayed in such a flash hotel that didn’t have a buffet breakfast. So much space in their dining area but no one is using it. You could get a coffee and a croissant from the cirque cafe, but this didn’t keep you full for long. I was averaging walking 25, 000 steps a day and no food in the morning was a bit weird. I usually like to eat a big breakfast when travelling so that I can be fuelled for the day and then go out for dinner. No cafes or restaurants really close by, so I think it was a waste that the restaurant wasn’t that inviting. I also think there should have been bottled water in the room at the very least without such a hefty charge for Evian water.

The Fairmont hotel is beautiful and epic at every turn! We love the room we had, and spending time in the garden terrace., the best gift shop ever and the restaurant. The restaurant is pretty and it’s food delicious, with friendly good service. It is fun to know Tony Bennet sang his famous song at this hotel for the first time. Historical! Well worth the stay!! I appreciated having stairs next to the elevator if I wanted to take those (and they are gorgeous!) The staff was very helpful and kind and genuine and accommodating. Thank you!!
The meals are a little pricier than we wanted, but there was not much available for food around the hotel. (The CA taxes didn’t help.)

Incredible hotel on top of Nob Hill with a stunning courtyard and lobby. A great place to have friends meet up at if you stay here and even get drinks or light food at the restaurant. Rooms are nice and large, with great quality furniture despite being a bit dated. The gym is quality and the property overall is top notch. I have stayed here many times and will continue staying here well into the future.
I have seen, on many occasions, mice running around in the hotel restaurant and have heard of guests on the ground floor finding a mouse in their hotel room. This absolutely needs to be taken care of because it is difficult to forget at such a stunning hotel. Unrelated, the WiFi is super slow. You get around 20mbps which is not excusable in 2022 considering the 5G I get in and around the hotel through my phone gives me over 200mbps. Do whatever needs to be done so guests can actually get high speed Wi-Fi.
