Carlton Oaks Lodge, Ascend Hotel Collection

The room was really nice, larger than I expected. The low-stepover tub was a fantastic addition, as I have issues with that normally! The room had great features as well. It was clean (much better than a hotel I stayed at a month ago). Quiet, due to being on a golf course. I'd definitely stay there again.

Only two things were weird, and both are pretty minor. 1. My room had a coffee pot, but no decanter to make the coffee in....so no morning coffee. Bummer. 2. There was no one in the office at checkout. Checkout is 11am, but no one there until 11:30, making the only option a key drop. A little strange, especially if someone had questions about the bill.

Very little. Room could have been a little cleaner, carpet needed a good wash especially around bed areas. Maids could have cleaned a little mote and taken away the rubbish left over from coffee making and topped up coffee and milk sachets a little more but otherwise the stay was what was expected.

Not a whole lot of dining nearby, room decor is very dated. Some neglect is readily apparent. Sinks are separating from their wall mounts. The rugs are worn. Insects. Lots of insects. Front desk unavailable until 11am guess morning shift called in sick.

Love location,clean. Peaceful rooms very soundproof. Wonderful bathroom water pressure. The guests very quiet. Surrounding neighborhood is great. It’s a paradise in the middle of suburbs. The

Tub drained very slowly. Room smelled very musty. Our beds very nice except one mattress down to bare springs on right side where one gets on bed. Also when you check in an extra resort fee is added to your bill. There is a wonderful restaurant on premises. Due to holiday it was closed by 5:09 pm understandably. Yet itwould be helpful to have listing of restaurants available nearby. It would be proper that Booking.com added this info to actual price advertised.

The size of the rooms and the wheelchair accessibility were the best! Everything was wonderful now I have a place to stay when I'm visiting San Diego!

Really the only problem with our stay was the height of the bed! Being in a wheelchair transferring uphill to bed is very difficult! I use a slide broad to and from bed but in this case it wasn't very helpful. Normally the height of the bed is about 26 or so inches in a wheelchair accessible room!

The staff is very friendly it is in a private peaceful location with a lot of scenery. They have a private pool and a restaurant for your family. I plan on staying there every time we visit San Diego.

The room had a small scent.

Office and food not available at checkout on Monday. Sliding door to bathroom very unreliable-would not stay closed. tv was a challenge but we figured it out.

Have been staying at Carlton Oaks for years, love the property, rooms, restaurant & bar! Friendly staff!

A large, spacious room at the hotel, complete with quick access to the nearby pool, and easy access to both Santee and San Diego. The bed was quite comfortable.

The shower was somewhat hard to get working right, plus it felt the walls were a little thin. We could hear the large family staying next to us in the early hours of the night, with children screaming and loud music blaring.

I really like how I was treated by the women at the front desk. Had a situation arise and was taken care of quickly and without question!

Small TV in room, wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't so far away. Building could use a face lift
