The location was amazing, the room was beautiful, the area is wonderful with lots of terrific hiking, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast situation was not good -- the complimentary breakfast was only coffee and some okay pastries, which were sometimes not available because other people had taken them all and the staff didn't notice that they were out. (It took 15 minutes for new coffee to arrive.) Since that was only coffee and pastries, we tried making a reservation at the restaurant for breakfast, but when we arrived at the restaurant there were no other customers, and we sat down and waited for 10 minutes and no one came to check on us, so we ended up leaving. It was surprising given the high level of service the rest of the time.

Breakfast was fantastic. One morning we sat outside which was such a nice way to begin the day, and the second morning it was chilly so we had breakfast at the cozy bar inside. Our room had a picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the gas fireplace added a perfect touch of coziness for chilly mornings and evenings.

Rooms could probably use a bit of a refresh when it comes to the furniture, however, it was still super cozy and a really solid and quiet room.

Cavallo offers a breathtaking view of the Bay you cannot find elsewhere. With its historic facilities, friendly staff, and idyllic location, Cavallo Point was something of a dream come true.

There is very little to gripe about here. The food, service, and location are all top notch. My only complaint are purely cosmetic. The rooms are very old, and some of the wood work would benefit from a new coat of paint, or replacement, but these are details that hardly affect the quality of anyone's stay.

Well appointed but older facility—no elevator, so be prepared to lug luggage upstairs if needed.

Everything about this place was magical. I booked for a self-care/unplug retreat and got everything I expected and more. Amazing staff, amazing facilities, incredible location.

The price of the treatments in the spa were on the high side but it's worth every single cent post-pamering

I have nothing bad to say about this property, the service, the room, the location, the food and the staff. It was simply the best in every way. My wife and I have stayed all over the world at Ritz Carlton level locations and this place was simple fantastic. This may well be our new favorite place to go and stay. This stay was exactly what we needed: some time away from the central city in a spiritual environment.

A little hickup where the desk called and asked for the keys even if we had carefully agreed on a later check-out. This stressed us because the desk was quite insisting.

I loved the gluten free option of ricotta citrus pancakes. The coffee was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed all my meals at Farleys.

A reminder by the staff that there was no air conditioner in the room and that we could open windows (duh, our bad) I don't know what we were thinking! (or not) I think the rooms were overpriced even taking in to account the setting.

Wonderful grounds! The rooms were very comfortable and it was a fantastic stay. We loved getting a coffee and pastry and walking around the grounds in the morning. It was relaxing and felt like an escape from the city.
