La Quinta by Wyndham Durango

After a stay in one of the inn at Durango couple of days ago, I wasn't expecting this! It is a hotel with full amenities, breakfast included, and the staff were super nice! And I paid the same price as the inn my family stayed in. The hotel's location is about 5-7mins away from the "center" of Durango to find good restaurants. There's a good movie theater 2 mins walk from the hotel where we end up watching a movie after dinner. I definitely recommend staying here.

Entrance is located only on one side of the street. If you are new to the place, you might turn a street before the hotel's entrance. Then you will have no choice but to go back to the highway and loop back. An arrow or a sign near the property can be helpful.

The hotel was fine, clean, functional, and as expected. They had a large group of firefighters staying at the property so exceptionally long line checking in. One of the reasons we stayed at the hotel was location to the river trail. Primary negatives - we aren't a fan of the type of breakfasts served at the property, which is similar to many others. The other noticeable thing was weeds on the outside. Entire area including the property badly needs some regular landscaping maintenance. Other than being a hot summer it was fine.

The staff was excellent. Sky in particular was very helpful. After we had checked out of the hotel, I was contacted by Sky informing me that we had left a valuable piece of electronics in our hotel room. She informed me that she had it and want to return it. Thank you Sky and housekeeping for being so honest and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent and just a few short minutes to historic downtown Durango. The white-water rafting company was equally as close.

The breakfast was subpar from the standpoint of food items not being replenished in a timely manner. Guests were left waiting for a lengthy period of time. The person responsible for the food area carried an attitude and didn't show much concern for everyone's wait. The jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there and the pool was also closed for one of the days we were there.

Breakfast, lobby area was vary clean and gave you a warm family feeling as you came and go, fireplace and couch sitting made you think of a comforting place to be with family or friends gathering around in the evening. And having coffee, tea and hot coco and cold drinking water available in the evenings was vary nice,The staff was very friendly and made it easy to talk with them for information and just chatting about the area, shopping, attractions etc.

Not being able to stay a bit longer to see more of the area and what Durango has to offer for vacationing.

Good location for our trip. Nice pool/whirlpool. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

We checked in Sunday evening and the phone in the room wasn't working. I went down to the desk and was given keys to another room. However, when we got to the second room, we found it had not been cleaned. We called down to the front desk and the rep came up with keys to a third room. Unfortunately, it had been occupied by someone with a dog and my wife noticed dog hair in the room. We decided to go back to the first room. However, we were there 3 nights and the phone was never fixed/replaced, although we were assured three times that it would be.

The facility was great. The staff is helpful and friendly.. plenty of parking available. There is a terrific walking trail just outside the motel.

The motel is difficult to get to. It is far from any restaurants and too far from downtown Durango. The breakfast was very plain and tasteless.

The king suite was perfect for a dad traveling with his two, under 3 year old children. The real star of the hotel is their customer service. Starting at check in with Alex, and the friendly breakfast with the morning crew, this place made us feel welcome and comfortable.

I turned too early. There is no access from the road behind it. When I turned around to go back, it is a right turn only, which takes you back onto the highway. You then have to merge, cross traffic, make a u turn, exit the highway, and take the back road up to the hotel….

Very nice staff. We stayed a week with our dog and they were very accommodating. The place is very clean. Room felt a little small for 2 people and a dog, but it was still good. We loved walking our dog along the river that is behind the hotel, it is so beautiful. Great location for us and lots of food places delivered there so dinners where easy. They let us eat our dinner takeout in the dinning area since there was 4 of us. Didn't do breakfast. I would stay there again...great place.

Other dog owners that don't pick up after their dog! It is not the hotels responsibility people! It is just rude and nasty not to pick up after YOUR dog! They have the bags and the trashcan right there. USE IT!!! Walking my dog at night on the hotel grounds was gross for me and my dog!

Property convenient as near both near town as well as the airport with lots of free parking. Staff very attentive. Room clean. Coffee available 24/7. We Return on a regular basis

They forgot to wake us up at the required time for our early morning flight - this is the 2nd time this has happened.

I understand the limits due to coved-19, but the food was bad and the male staff member who did the cooking does not know how to scramble eggs. The menu posted indicated biscuits and gravy would be served, but no biscuits and gravy was available. I ask him where the biscuits and graveyard was he stated he did not feel like making it that morning. I then asked when did you last serve biscuits and graveyard.. the stated about 4 days ago. If an item is listed to be served then it should be severed.

The scramble eggs were not eatable
