This charming small hotel boasts period rooms and a truly bountiful continental breakfast. The bed was very comfortable thanks to the superior linen and pillows. The neighbors were very loud past midnight, but thankfully left the following morning. The staff were concerned and apologetic (although we hadn't contacted over night). The breakfast was accommodating for all: cereals, homemade breakfast breads, toasts, even meat/cheese plates for international guests, lasting until 10 am, which we appreciated and ate on the outdoor patio. Although this location doesn't have any outdoor facilities, we took advantage of the privileges at the sister property (tennis and indoor pool). A very nice stay and right in the middle of town.

Room door sticks and must be almost slammed to fully close, likely because of age of property + extreme humidity. We left open once accidentally and from then on, made sure door was actually shut. Too bad for us that the dinner restaurant onsite wasn't open (we stayed on a Mon, Tues)

The room was quaint and perfect for our anniversary stay. It had the old mansion feel but was very clean and welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to help us with questions we had and even sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne for our anniversary. It was a wonderful visit!

The property is absolutely lovely and in the perfect location within Simsbury. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thank you Kai!

We stayed in one of the the carriage house rooms. We didn’t like the stair leading into the room. The carpet is dark and the step up is awkward in daylight but especially at night. It’s potentially hazardous if you’re not careful coming in or going out of the room. Also the air conditioning could be a little stronger. It got warm in the room. The WiFi could be much better. Trying to work from the hotel was not great because of poor WiFi connection. Aside from these things we really enjoyed our stay here!!

Ample outdoor seating with tables/chairs/umbrellas. Well stocked continental breakfast open and ready at 6 a.m.! Coffee available 24/7 via machine. Lots of parking space. Friendly desk staff. Comfortable bed and linens.

Could only open one window for cool night air. Air conditioner not very effective, and prefer to open windows anyways. Other windows painted shut.

We liked the spaciousness of our room and found the bed and sofa very comfortable.

I wish there would have been a few tables available at which to sit for the continental breakfast. Had to balance plate on lap and hold coffee. Not a major inconvenience, but a table would have been nice. Another couple was using the only available coffee table at the time. There we tables available outside, but it was too cool to sit out there.

Historic 200 year old property that’s well maintained. The staff are exceptionally friendly as are the people of the town. Excellent restaurant downstairs!

I was expecting a smaller B&B, but it really more of small inn. Also, the town is nice, but not as rural as I anticipated. Even so, it was a pleasant place for a long weekend getaway.

Dinner at the on-site restaurant was very good and the staff were so incredibly warm towards us. We were very pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our stay was there. We came here as part of our honeymoon. The room was comfortable and we felt the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as amazing as it could be.

Breakfast was rather small and there isn't much to do in the area. The AC unit in the room was incredibly loud and difficult to ignore during the night.

We are a family of 4 and reserved a two king size bed room so we were at the carriage house which is separate from the inn. It was great. We didn’t have to worry about our boys being noisy or bothering anyone. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was also very pleasant.

There is one restaurant on site which only serves dinner. However, there are enough places to eat within very close driving distance. The food at the restaurant was good but we also had delicious meals at other restaurants nearby.

A historic house in a conservation area, wonderful large room and bath. Very helpful staff. There weren't many other guests and we only stayed for one night, but it was a real joy.

It would have been nice if the breakfast was a little more unique and based on fresh food, rather than the industrialized fare provided. But perhaps it was due to the fact that we're out of season.
