The Inn at Longshore is the only B&B in the area to stay that is on the water in the most beautiful area of Westport CT. While it's an older classic Inn with facilities that are adequate albeit a bit dated, the location on the LI sound, golf course and walkable to Compo Beach more than makes up for it. There is a restaurant "La Plage" on premesis open at night. Breakfast buffet adequate but if you want eggs and bacon there are other places to go. Room was clean and spacious , we had a lovely water view, bright and cheerful but on the 3rd floor walk-up. I don't know the if the town's municipal golf course is available to guests, but the facilities have various boat/kayak rentals, a pool for a fee and it's a great area for long walks or sit on adirondack chairs by the water unless there is a wedding event, probably every weekend. We heard they will close for a while in winter and be doing updates.

It definitely needs some updating. Rugs seem a but worn, AC units in window. Bathroom a little dated.

Not only was this one of the most beautiful locations I have ever stayed, it was an added bonus to be surrounded by such natural beauty. I'm sure if I would have stayed in "prime" months the scenery would have been even more amazing. The breakfast was beautiful and the scones were amazing!!

As mentioned in previous reviews, the front desk staff were nice just not over the top to assist with a first time stay (what's around, what should I see, what's not to be missed.). Also, being on the third floor, the room was awfully hot while the restaurant was in full operation, I was happy to be able to open a window.

My room while small was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was great - it’s an older hotel and could use some upgrades - especially the AC - noisy window units …. I especially loved the almond croissant - very delicious and I’m still dreaming of how good it was!! They make fresh on site.

The pool - you needed a pass and there’s a pp charge - and the gatekeepers wouldn’t allow us to go to check the water temperature before we committed to using this facility - very unaccommodating

The breakfast buffet was generous and not crowded. The seating could have been better, with only large tables for sharing. The rooms seemed a bit outdated, but very clean. The location was perfect for taking in scenes of Long Island sound.

The restaurant said it began dinner service at 4pm, but it was a bit late. There was also a bug in my room, but I suppose that can't be helped when you're at an Inn. Electrical outlets did not cater to USB ports, so bring your converters.

I enjoyed the room’s view of the water in the morning, cleanliness of the room, and proximity to where I was working. The breakfast was nicely laid out. The restaurant, La Plage, was lovely and would have made a romantic getaway. The food at La Plage was sumptuous.

The 3-story walk-up on a narrow staircase, noisy tennis courts nearby, the smell of fish & chips in the room. The restaurant had very little under $35 and, though seemingly knowledgable about dietary restrictions, had minimal offerings.

Very friendly and relaxing - feels safe and secure . The location is wonderful - upgraded to a suite one night which was gorgeous . Coffee available all day and bottled water supplied on asking anytime . Welcoming lobby and very clean throughout

No internet TV so no Netflix etc . It would be a big plus to have this . Whilst I did not mind the traditional furniture in the bedrooms the carpets in the hallways really need replacing urgently

The Continental Breakfast was sufficient. The front desk staff was helpful. The room accommodations were nice. The grounds were beautiful.

The only thing that I found to say anything about was that when coffee or something ran out early at breakfast, it was not replaced until much later. That's not a big deal, but someone should have replaced items sooner. No one seemed to be in charge of checking on the breakfast items.

A continental breakfast was included in the room rate. There was a varied choice & perfect for my needs. I also appreciated the instructions for using the shower! Bed was super comfy, room had a homely feel, plenty of towels etc & heating system easy to operate. Loved the view across the bay from my window.

Although free hot drinks were available in the reception area, a hot drinks machine in the room would have been a welcome addition. And instructions for turning the TV off! Putting my coat on over my pyjamas, I had to go down to the reception desk to ask!!!

We loved the location and the restaurant/bar on site was amazing. We were able to bring cocktails down by the water and enjoy the sunset views on the water.

The front staff was not too helpful. We didn't have access to the ice machine and there was never someone there to help when we tried to get ice 3 separate times. I also didn't realize our "ocean view" out the window was going to be HVAC duct work, but we made the most of it by being outside most of the time.

The setting is fantastic - the inn is on the water, I think most rooms have a water view - it's surrounded by the golf course so feels very secluded, despite the close proximity to US-1 and I 95. The room was well appointed, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom - no excess wear and tear! Good continental breakfast included, coffee was fresh, they have cups with lids available to take on the road - which was a bonus for us - didn't have to stop for Starbucks till we got to the Jersey Turnpike!

It's a small thing, the window air conditioner was a bit older, worked well, but when the compressor kicked on and off it rattled the window frames. We shut it off around 2 AM. We had a room on the 2nd floor, top of the stairs, I forgot the room number, but you might want to avoid it if you can.
