The facilities are beautiful, the oceanfront location for a bed and breakfast is RARE! breakfast was wonderful and they go out of your way to make it a step up from your average hotel - complimentary beach chairs/umbrella/towels, tea/coffee service always available, blankets/bottled water/fresh fruit/cookies there for the taking in the lobby, etc. Staff was exceptionally personable and welcoming.

The afternoon red wine options weren’t good. I don’t expect to get the nicest wine ever at a free happy hour, but I’ve tasted much better cheap red wine than that. It’s worth shopping around a little more. The smell of the lobby was a constant mix of bacon and coffee - could be hard to ventilate out breakfast smells in a smaller property, but worth trying to improve.

The staff was outstanding. Anything you requested was completed efficiently and always with a smile. Breakfast was excellent. Each day there were different choices. The server was always available for anything needed. The afternoon snacks and beverages were excellent. Beach chairs were set up daily and umbrellas and towels were available. The facility had rocking chairs on the back porch overlooking the beach. Just a beautiful setting overall.

Since the facility was old the rooms were a bit musty and the hallway had a musty odor.

The blueberry pancakes and scones were wonderful this morning! Service was excellent! The porch was a beautiful place to sit and relax. We enjoyed Happy Hour drinks and snacks. The architecture and style of the Lodge is beautiful and the location on the beach was a major draw!

We were under the impression that we were to be in the main lodge. We made our reservation through Booking.com so I guess it was their fault. It turned out fine and we had a wonderful time!

The lodge is quaint and well cared for. We loved the bed and breakfast feel even though we were in a lodge. The breakfast was very nice and the afternoon wine and snacks were an added bonus. Chairs and umbrellas were put up for guests from sunrise to sunset. Able all, the staff was exceptional and made us feel very welcome.

Needed more accessible outlets for charging all of our devices.

Staff was very polite and helpful. Every person we interacted with (front desk, servers, housekeepers, chef) seemed to go out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and to see if we needed anything.

I really cannot think of anything. When we arrived (a little early) our room was available and the person at the front desk took time to make sure we knew about everything that was available at the hotel and around the area.

Everything from check-in to check-out went extremely well. Breakfasts were wonderful. We were impressed that we could get anything we asked for from all kinds of omelets (even made with egg whites) to turkey bacon and/ or turkey sausage. Items put out on the tables and in the fridge were more than adequate. The fresh fruit choices were delightful, as were the gals working the breakfast room.

We can't think of a thing we didn’t like.

The location was amazing! Beautiful, uncrowned, clean beach. Chairs and umbrellas set up each morning for us. Short walk over the dunes and we were at the water. The outside porch and rocking chairs were lovely to sit in and watch the sunrise each morning. The staff was AMAZING! Each and every person who worked at the lodge was friendly, attentive, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and relaxed. Shelby even knew what we each wanted for breakfast in the mornings! Serena greeted us whenever we came through the door. Thor was knowledgeable about the nearby restaurants and his suggestions were terrific. The breakfasts each morning were delicious! So many options and the coffee was hot and delicious. Happy hour each afternoon was an added bonus to our day. Honestly, the staff made the difference between a mediocre stay and one that was truly memorable. There was absolutely no evidence of staffing shortages or an inexperienced staff.

The air conditioning in the rooms is old and creates a lot of humidity. It was impossible to hang bathing suits to dry overnight and even dry clothes felt clammy. The bathroom needs a serious update. The whirlpool tub is very high and for a short person, which I am, you need to be very careful of not slipping entering and exiting it. A shower would be so much more practical. There is basically no storage in the bathroom for toiletries. We stayed a week and taking things in and out on a daily basis was an inconvenience.

The breakfast was great, the location is great.

We were on the third floor, when you get off the elevator there’s a musty mildewy smell, they really need a dehumidifier up there rather than spraying chemically induced air freshener that we have to breathe . The place is a little overpriced truly, everyone we met that stayed there noted that. Also the sand is very hot it would be nice if they would do some sort of a straight walk to the beach with some kind of a fixed covering on the walk like some beaches do. It is very difficult to get up and over the sand to get to the beach, especially older people. And I found that was the majority of the people staying there, older wealthy people

The breakfast was delicious and accommodating to dietary needs. Love how close it is to shopping and the quiet beach was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable and vibe of the lodge is very laid back and relaxing.

Must have a reservation for the restaurants there or else you won't get in! Also not much open late around the lodge for food delivery. The bathrooms could use some updating, and the shower heads are a bit short for tall people.

Loved the support and friendliness of the staff, front desk. Breakfast was wonderful and the afternoon social something we looked forward to each day. The deck was used every day as we watched the ocean, played backgammon and shared a cool beverage. Had a great time, would love to come back
