This recently completely renovated 1950's retro motel far exceeded my expectations. I have traveled all over the United States and Europe, and I have never been more pleased with lodging as I am with this cute little motel. The rooms were unbelievably clean and smelled so clean and fresh. The grounds were immaculate, and the pool was clean, clear and refreshing. From check in until check out, the staff was so nice and friendly, and were very helpful in recommending good restaurants and fun places to visit. The beach is just across the street, a Waffle House is on the nearby corner, and there are many good restaurants within walking distance. My son really enjoyed the authentic cool 1950's theme of the motel. I enjoyed my stay there immensely and will most definitely stay there again! Oh, and it is just so "cute", we felt like we were in a classic movie!

Nothing! There isn't anything that I disliked about the Sea Jay.

Coffee pods plentiful and made good coffee in machine in the kitchen. 50's style electric stove, oven, full-size refrigerator and retro microwave let me cook what I wished when I wanted. Terrazzo floors a trip. Couch and chairs nice when I entertained my family one afternoon in the living room. Lots of TV channels to choose from when relaxing and WiFi was always good. A/C remote worked for air conditioning in both living room and bedroom.

Hot in the summer and afternoon sun made the bedroom A/C less efficient and more noisy. They had it on when I arrived so it was cool. Make sure you start this one cooling an hour or more before bed time! Perhaps they have to replace it more often because of the sun heating the western wall on room 16?

We loved are stay at Sea Jay. The place as a really nice and cosy retro vibe. The garden and pool are immaculate; you can see how much care is putted into it, and it made it so comfortable to just hang around there. The barbecue area is very nice as well, many tools to cook. The rooms are very well equipped and very very clean, the retro kitchen is well equipped and kitchenwares were nice. The motel itself is between a nice quiet street and a canal and 2 blocks away from the beach. We loved our stay at Sea Jay and would be delighted to go back.

The A/C was a bit noisier than what we are used to, thrash was strangely oversize to acces under the sink of the room. Those things did not have a big impact on our overall appreciation, because the the place is so nice. But, some people might be annoyed by it, so it's worth noting.

Everything was perfect, the only issue we had were the remotes to the TVs and window unit ACs there were 2 TVs and 2 ACs but 1 remote for both TVs and 1 remote for both AC units. It was frustrating since there was 3 of us so when 1 person was watching TV in the living room you couldn't control the TV in the bedroom. After we left I did let the staff know and I am sure they will take care of it. Also we could only watch live TV in the bedroom and not in the living room but that was not as important sine we spent most of the time out of the room anyway.

As stated above the only thing we didn't like was the remote situation. Also we were not aware of the no smoking on the property rule. It probably should be mentioned at check in and on your website since most visitors are coming from another state or country and don't know the rules.

The property is very clean and staff is kind and helpful. Large bedroom, comfortable mattress, powerful shower. Several amenities in the room, including fridge, microwave, table, free coffee (in pods, good), hairdryer. Affordable price, especially considering the cost of similar properties around. I would recommend and would happily return.

The air conditioning was quite noisy and there was a door communicating with another room. It was locked, but I think it made the room noisier, as I could clearly hear the TV of the neighbours during night.

Sea Jay is awesome. great location within walking distance to beach, restaurants, shops. The reviews don’t lie, it’s immaculately clean, and beautiful grounds. The pool is heated, there are plenty of places to sit and hang out/eat. They have an ice machine and bbq pit you can use on the property. Lisa is the office is wonderful and very accommodating! I would definitely stay here again!

The water is the shower went back and forth from hot to could which is minor and manageable. The seats on the bins are super uncomfortable and not good for riding long distance or all day!

Rooms were a nice size, cute decor, slightly larger mini fridge with freezer section, nice pool, nice tiki table with lights, it was a great place to stay.

The only issue we had was our room code stopped working part way thru our stay, after the office closed. Thankfully, we had adjoining rooms with friends, otherwise I’m not sure how we would have gotten in. It was reset the next day and then it was fine.

Clean, perfect for creating beautiful family vacation memories, amazing staff, well kept gardens, super fun shuffleboard game, charming decorations in the apartments, extremely nice and helpful staff, great linens, appliances in perfect condition, great price, clean and new ice machine, 2 minutes from the beach, with a great pool. My family loved it. I already told my husband we are coming back next time!

The only thing was that the spring mattresses on the beds weren’t the most comfortable for extended stay, but other than that the place is a little piece of paradise!

Great staff, atmosphere, and location. Easy and proximal access to the beach and convienances.

Air conditioning unit ran constantly. I tried different settings such as "sleep" and "Eco"; however, the ambient temperature increased to 81 degrees Fahrenheit. So we changed setting back to 73 degrees and tried all three fan speeds low, medium, and high; however, the AC unit ran continually and noisy. Solution - replace with split AC unit. They are very quiet and efficient. Pillows are too soft, providing no support. Solution - replace pillows with firm, ergonomic pillows that provide great support. Add a small table near the microwave and refrigerator for food prep. Purchase a pool cleaning robot to clean grime inside pool. All else was excellent. Thanks to the entire staff for all you do. What a cute place to stay !! I traveled with my young adult and teenage boy! we loved the location 5 minutes walk to the beach! Sort drive to St. Petersburg , close to restaurants and shops! it was perfect for two nights!! we were very satisfied with everything!! Highly recommend this cute motel to everyone !

it’s an older property, bathroom has no fan ! But it didn’t bother us !
