We were on the 30th floor with a view on the river, where we could also see the sunset. Magnificentl!

There is no daily room service an the furnishings are rather dated, but comfortable nonetheless

The location was great! We were able to get to and from O'Hare on the Blue Line. Close to Michigan Ave so close to all the major tourist attractions. Most attractions were easy to walk to. Lots of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Across the bridge from Architecture Riverboat Tours and across the street from the bus stop that took us to the Museum of Science and Industry. Staff we interacted with (Tony and Pedro) were wonderfully helpful! We enjoyed our stay!

The sliding bathroom door in our room was a little funky. The fan in the room was a bit noisy going on and off during the night.

The staff were very pleasant, especially Pedro who welcomed us when we arrived. The amenities were quite impressive especially the water station on the floors. Our room had a kitchenette which was great and a Nespresso machine for our coffee hit first thing in the morning!! The bed was comfortable and clean. The location was very convenient. All the Chicago sights were walkable and there were lots of places to eat and shop in the area. The check in and out process was also very quick and easy.

Unfortunately, there was only one working elevator during our stay which was very frustrating for all guests. People were trying to cram into the one elevator which I think serviced floors 10-36! That was not pleasant. The rooms, whilst clean were a little dated and are in need of a refresh.

As we were staying for 6 nights we booked a 2 bedroom suite and it was absolutely perfect, just a little bit more room to spread out and feel comfortable. The coat hooks spread throughout the room were great especially travelling in winter and having to layer up because of the cold. We didn’t have a car so wanted something central that we couldn’t walk everywhere and River Hotel was perfect for that. We walked everywhere, even in the snow along the riverwalk at 9pm to watch the fireworks at Navy Pier. Oh and the free guest laundry was amazing especially when you are travelling for 6 weeks and need to do washing.

We loved everything about the hotel

My room was great and the bed was super comfortable. I had a room on the 37th floor (only 38!) - the views were outstanding and my room was super quiet with only two rooms on the floor! Great linens and quality towels - plenty of hot water too! The location was fantastic, and we used the SpotHero app to find a convenient nearby garage for parking. There were great restaurants next door where we ate breakfast both days. Loved easy access to Riverwalk, Michigan Avenue and so much more.

It's an older building and while the owners have done a great job updating the rooms to provide great comfort, the elevators are often slow and it can take a long time to reach upper level floors. The one ice machine is in the LL and I learned only one elevator accesses the LL - after 20 minutes of riding up and down trying to get ice. Minor inconveniences in the big scheme as the location is terrific if you plan to explore downtown.

My room didn’t have microwave or little refrigerator and my son’s room yes. Even I booked two king size bedrooms. I thought I’d going to be same🤷🏻‍♀️

Great location. Right along the river in the middle of The Loop and around the corner from Magnificent Mile. Easy to pop out and pop back if you're between the many activities available in the area (I spent a lot of time going in and out between bookings and appointments in the city). Room was very comfortable and a decent size. WiFi a tad patchy but it rarely caused any issues. I had a slight issue with noise in the hallway from people going in and out of the rooms nearby, but I'd put that down to ignorant guests rather than the hotel itself. Staff were lovely and always eager to help with queries regardless of their nature. Vouchers were given on arrival for businesses/bars nearby which was a lovely touch. Absolutely no complaints about my stay and would definitely come back again.

I loved the location. It was right across the river from what I had planned to do for the day. They allowed me to check in early so I was able to drop off my luggage instead of having to carry it around with me for most of the day. The staff were all incredibly nice and the bed was so comfy! It’s close to the subway station so I was able to make my way around town without having to pay a lot for transportation

I didn’t love that I couldn’t get the heat on in my room but I’m sure if I had asked a staff about it, they would’ve fixed it for me. I dropped off my luggage and went back out and when I came back the room wasn’t as cold

The location is absolutely perfect for a short time visit to Chicago. Next to the river, next to the boat cruises, less than 1 km walk to the Art Institute of Chicago, 30 min walk to the Union Train Station. The hotel is situated in the city centre, minutes away from Magnificent Mile. Several comfortable lifts available. lifts The room is very warm, and it's easy to self-regulate temperature. TV screen is large, and with simple access to key news channels, in English and Spanish languages.

The room was relatively small. Te hotel has no pleasant bar or reception area. Internet via laptop works intermittently, you have to reconnect every hour, more or less. No safe deposit box in the room.

Wonderful location—very central and close to all the 'must-see' attractions. They granted my request for a room on the upper floors of the hotel, and we enjoyed a wonderful city view. We enjoyed free-coffee station as well as free of charge bottled water available on the lobbies.

Only one of the elevators was working, and we had to wait almost 20 minutes for it to reach our 28th floor and take us down. While making our reservation, we specifically requested two separate duvets/bed linens (for a room with one queen-sized bed for two people) and were informed that this request would be granted. However, after checking into our room, we found only one duvet. When we visited the reception to request an additional duvet, they assured us it was not a problem and promised to send one directly to our room. Instead, a staff member brought us a very light microfleece blanket, which was inadequate. When we asked again for the duvet they had promised, they simply told us it was not possible and that the blanket was the only available option.
