Location on the river is great. Has almost everything necessary for a big hotel that does conferences and hosts business and leisure travelers. Great bar, couple restaurants, gym, coffee shop, available large rooms.

What’s missing? NO CONCIERGE. I mean you are on your own. They’ve got lots of digital tips and cues and stacks of brochures but they have NO ONE to book you a ticket, tell you about a show, book you a restaurant. It’s between you and you phone. They still have a concierge desk lol. But No Concierge. Front desk rep at check in needs “friendly” lessons. Acted like she didn’t want to be there. (Other staff were great. At the first floor restaurant an excellent server took care of a customer spill in a very kind and professional way. Really exemplary.)

We had a king size bed and a view of the river in a newly renovated room, all very nice. The lack of cupboard space was an issue for two persons staying for 11 days, but we made it work and it was OK in the end.

We would have preferred coffee cups/mugs over the paper cups, but we got used to it in the end. We did ask staff not to provide Decaf coffee, but to rather provide us with more regular coffee, this did not happen because there were different staff who were simply replacing as per their job description. They were super friendly when I approached them to swap the decaf for regular coffee.

Location was close to Magnificent Mile. We could walk to most destinations. Room size was larger than most hotels, and the view of Lake Michigan was fantastic.

Room was in West Tower, so the lobby was not as nice as the main lobby. Walking from East Tower where front desk was, and the nice bar and restaurants was a bit of a pain. Unsure why the restaurant located in the West Tower after the catwalk was not open. It would have been good to see something more lively than a shut down restaurant when coming and going from our room. Also, Stetsons Restaurant was closed on Sunday for no apparent reason, which was the only day we could try it.

This hotel offers great views over the river. It is in walking distance to city's major attractions. Rooms are clean and comfortable and staff are friendly and courteous. The breakfast at the restaurant and 'the market' include healthy options and the lobby and common areas have lots of seating areas to work and spend time.

The case goods in the room were a bit outdated and worn out but everything else in the room was great!

The bed was super comfortable, view amazing and we, after a small hiccup, got a room with just a shower as requested and a lake view. Staff was friendly also. We didn't get to check out the bars or restaurants, because we had so many plans to explore. Next time we will. The skywalk between both buildings is very helpful.

There was no indication in my email or on the streets as to where check in and out was, we had to pull over to the side of the west tower and call the front desk. Valet was overpriced and an absolute mess. When we arrived the gentleman apparently was new and wasn't much help explaining the parking situation. $79 a night for your car to just sit when already paying $400 a night for a room is insane. What made it even more insane is that self parking is just $10 less per night. So, we decided to just use valet. When it was time to leave you couldn't just call to get your car. Had to wait in a long line, just for the ticket to not work and then go stand in another line. Valet there does not mean they bring you your car, you have to go get it and find your way back to the hotel lot.

Staff was superb considering there were 9k people who had to come there for meeting registration and asked for directions and other information. From the greeters outside to the registration staff to the bellmen and housekeeping staff, every person I came into contact was kind, friendly and helpful. The abundance of staff to provide directions was invaluable. The waiters, servers and cooks were top notch as was the food. The specialty drink The Pink Tea Rose made exclusively for us was wonderful as was the service, bar food and staff.

The hotel staff were courteous. The room was spacious for three of us. The American Craft restaurant had a good spread and the restaurant staff (especially Pankaj and Sabuj) were super helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting places of attraction.

The usher Brian agreed to have the luggage delivered to the room (for a discretionary gratuity) but abruptly expressed his inability to follow through on his words saying that no bellboy was available after we had finished check in formalities. Not sure what happened.

Deluxe King room with Lake (and river) view in the West Tower. Great view, comfy bed, excellent air conditioning, nice bathroom. In-room safe. Loved being close to the river and lake and other tourist sites.

No bathrobes (found out too late you have to ask for them. Never heard of that). Not enough towels. Not enough dresser drawers. Not a great shopping area. On our last day (a Wednesday) the hotel was overcome by a huge convention. Couldn't find a seat anywhere! Hordes of conventioneers.

The Hyatt Regency has two towers and both are nicely located at the river front. We upgraded our room to lake view/ River View in the renovated West tower and didn’t regret this decision. The room size is comfortable for two adults, we had a small fridge and a coffee maker. Our floor was fully booked over the Easter weekend but it wasn’t noisy. We have seen several sports teams using the common areas in the bridge between the towers, so it looks nice for even larger groups. It’s walking distance to many downtown spots like the pier.

Chicago downtown is generally a very expensive place and parking and breakfast is not included.

I traveled with my daughter who is in a wheelchair and on Dec 31st at 11:00pm we went to the washroom by the fitness center and the handicap stall toilet was stopped up. I did inform an employee and she said that she would have it taken care of. So at 4:30am on January 1st we visited this particular restroom again and the handicap stall was still stopped up so I had to take my daughter into the men's stall to use the restroom. So we return to this restroom again by the fitness center at 10am and the stall had not been attended to and it was still stopped up. I stopped at the registration desk and informed them of the ongoing problem

Bathroom handicap stall toilet stopped up all night into the morning
