Sonder South Wabash

The property was very clean and comfortable. Though one of the units did not work properly. I never reported this issue. Owner rules are very strict. No partying. No smoking.

The property is a 40 minutes walk from Michigan Avenue. and 10 minutes walk from Soldiers Field. It is well located. But you need transportation to move around. Nearest convenience store is 2 blocks away. If you rent a car - which we did not - you can park in the street and pay by plate. Pictures do not represent the actual unit I stayed in. Unit 204 had a balcony with no view.

Fantastic property. For the cost of a regular hotel room you get a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with a full kitchen and gorgeous balcony, with a view of Chicago. Made a nice trip into a fantastic experience. We had guests over for wine on the balcony, cooked breakfast, had a place to heat up leftover deep dish pizza, nice showers and room to spread out.

Parking is on the street and expensive. But that’s Chicago.

I like the location, it was close (driving distance) to the attractions we wanted to do. We had a vehicle so we did have to pay for parking but most of the time we used street parking because we did want to drive to places vs paying to stay in a lot or garage which can is expensive. . After 10pm parking is free until 8am. There are a lot of restaurants and stores I’m walking distance. The studio was nice (not as big I thought from the pictures) but overall a nice space. Bedroom and bathroom lighting could be better.

The fact that there isn’t anyone to assist with a problem I’m person. we didn’t have a steaming box as it stated in the description. had to contact Sonder, but someone came out the next day to bring a Roku.

Very nice modern apartment, bright, clean, well connected, and within walking distance to downtown.

The sofa either needs a repair or change.

The location was great. The apt was very nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen utensils and appliances as well as pot ware were very helpful in preparing meals.

The only 2 issues were these: Washer/dryer did not work. Sonder could not assist in repair. But they did allow me to use another Apts washer/dryer. It was an inconvenience nonetheless. Also upon a late arrival the code sent to me to open door did not work. I had to wait by door for a reset and a new code. Only took about 20 minutes extra. Still an inconvenience.

Super apartment with all mod cons including kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Views from the 9th floor were really good. Spacious bathroom with good shower. Floor to ceiling windows meant it's really bright. Only 8 minute walk to the nearest L station (Roosevelt) from where you can get anywhere. Supermarkets nearby and a couple of restaurants. Really clean and felt very safe

The air conditioning! It came on when temperature dropped to certain point and when it did you knew all about it. The unit is right beside the bed and sounds like an aircraft taking off during the night. It's freezing when it comes on and then quickly heats up when it goes off. So spent nights duvet on, duvet off, duvet on .....

It was in a nice location with people taking their dogs for walks. So I felt safe on my own. A short walk to the train station and not too far from the Art Institute to walk. It was clean, with a good shower and comfortable bed.

A cutting board would have been useful. The aircon was very noisy and I couldn’t work out how to turn it off. Fortunately I had an eye mask as the lights outside at night are very bright. Good for a short stay but not longer.

The accommodation was perfect for my stay. There was a full kitchen so I had the option of going out to the many eateries in the area or there are two supermarkets a short walk away if you prefer to stay in and cook. Although the location of the accommodation is a little bit out of the city centre, the Roosevelt station is close by and other areas of Chicago are easy enough to get to using the L train. It's certainly walkable to the CBD in nice weather.

The apartment was in a great location. There was a large grocery store three blocks north. Access to the Red Line was near the grocery store which made it easy to get into downtown Chicago. It's also located within walking distance of the the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. We really appreciated the washer/dryer (and the provided laundry detergent), as we were there for two weeks.

It was hard to keep the apartment warm. All the wonderful windows made it cold (we were there in December). We finally figured out how to get the heat up. There are limited pans for cooking, but we made it work. There is only one frying pan and it desperately needs to be replaced. We were thrilled to be leaving as the last night of our two week stay new neighbors moved in next door. They like their music way too loud.

Nice location, nice apartment, and very well prepared for guests.

Only in a couple of areas did this property fall down. First, the device used for entering codes to enter the property was terrible..... It was poorly located in full sun, no viability of the screen, codes difficult to enter, and at a level of children and people in wheelchairs... but not for adults without the ability to get on your knees to see the screen! Very, very, very bad.... many people just waiting for someone to leave so they can get in..... Why no local TV or cable?
