Hotel Blake, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

Very nice facility with helpful and friendly staff and great customer service. The bellhops were extremely fun and eager to help with our luggage. One bellhop was helpful in sharing where to go and how to get there in downtown Chicago.

A male employee entered our room without knocking at 11 pm. He said it was a mistake. Also, it took too long to get our car from the valet. After complaining to management about these things, they apologized. After cleaning it, they left an apology note, with some snacks in the room. They also adjusted the cost of one night of our stay and didn't charge for the valet parking. I was satisfied with the response from customer service.

Clean, comfortable room. Central location easily accessible by public transport from airport. Loved the king sized bed. Reasonable noise level considering the room was overlooking the street.

The reception staff was efficient but not overly welcoming or personable. They did respond quickly to specific requests. The appliances - hair dryer, iron, coffee machine - were of a lower quality than the rest of the facilities.

This is a great hidden treasure in the heart of the loop. Beds are comfortable and the staff is welcoming. You can walk to the Art Institute, Lake Michigan and the Museum Campus. The restaurant is wonderful

The bathroom door didn't open past the toilet. I had to shimmy in the gap then close the door. Putting in a round toilet bowel rather than an elongated one would easily solve the problem! No fat person could use the bathroom!!!

Beautiful, spacious, immaculate room. Felt very private and gave us a wonderful space for unwinding after a day on the go! Large, well-appointed bathroom felt luxurious compared with many other Chicago hotels at which we have stayed. Plentiful and affordable public parking nearby. Friendly staff. Cancelled another hotel to boom this one—was the right call!

Room was perfectly clean. Roomy. Nice shower. Loved location. Felt safe walking about. Helpful staff. We appreciate having frig & microwave in room for our restaurant leftovers. Spending time in the room was an important part of our vacation that we needed for R & R because we spent long days walking miles in museums & around town.

Extremely minor points, since you asked: I didn't figure out how to determine what would be on tv. I really appreciated having coffee in the lobby. Tasted real good. In the afternoon & eves the offering of water infused with tasty looking berries looked really good but it seemed the berries became so thick as to prevent the water from coming out any faster than a very slow trickle-- or something. This likely wasn't an issue for the first people getting it. NOT a big deal.

We used to live in Printers Row. We love how the decors has be redesigned to pay homage to the historic roots of the neighborhood while also reflecting its modern urban vibe.

Bedroom spacious, bathroom excellent, quiet.

For the price paid, I would suggest that the hotel should provide a ten dollar voucher to each guest to be used in the Meli restaurant next door every morning. It is not sufficient for the hotel to provide complimentary coffee for breakfast. Even the complimentary coffee was not that great and we resorted to making coffee in our room. This is the essence of hospitality. We had to ask for water each day. That is quite ridiculous. It should just be provided in the room-why not? The hotel needs to address the use of plastics. The USA needs to stop single use plastics, utterly unsustainable.

The hotel staff is very welcoming, kind, helpful, and accommodating - the best, as always! Also, the large size and cleanliness of the guest rooms, the convenience of the hotel being connected to Meli's Cafe (which serves delicious breakfast and lunch), and the very close proximity of the hotel to my daughter's college dorm apartment, and to the South Loop city center restaurants and attractions. I love Hotel Blake!

The nightly rate was a bit more expensive than usual (due to all the area college graduations, I'm sure). But it's my favorite place to stay in Chicago because of the great staff and the great South Loop location. My daughter graduated from college there last month, but I can't wait to come back and visit Hotel Blake and all the friends I've made there over the past 2 years, and I will soon!

Great location to walk to attractions, restaurants, & close to light rail line. Rooms were spacious & clean.

The location of the hotel was very convenient for touring major attractions downtown. The housekeeping service was excellent - cleaned the room every day during a 5 night stay. The decor was updated and interesting, with a flat screen TV and a very nice bathroom. Had a great fridge and microwave. Nice view from the window of the imposing public library across the street.

I would have liked a more comfy chair to relax in. Also, I didn't realize it was a time share property and was pressed a little bit to schedule an informational meeting, which I didn't appreciate so much.
