Hampton Inn Auburn

The Hampton Inn (Auburn) seems at first glance to be a very functional, no-nonsense hotel--and in many ways it is just that. But everything has been carefully designed around meeting the needs of guests. Our room, for instance, was designed so that everything--from the placement of the drawers and closets, to the abundance of the electrical outlets and charging plugs, to the whisper-quiet AC, to the arrangement of the bathroom and shower--was well thought out and very convenient. We've stayed at luxury hotels that were not so well appointed and designed. It made for a very restful stay and night's sleep.

Clean spacious unit front staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating and help me fix some good dinner choices instead of the local fast food chains in the area.

The pool was closed still as I read another reviews. Also the elevator was broken and after a 12 hour shift I certainly didn’t feel like climate up three flights of stairs but I did. The other detriment is I was right beside the stairwell that people are using to go up and down the stairs because the elevator was broken.

The room was nice, the Tv was a nice size. The breakfast was good.

The woman at check-in was very rude. The man before us in line was checking in and had a little accent. The woman was really condescending, his debit card was declined and it was the way she said it was declined that really aggravated me. He told her he had enough money in the account and you could she the look she gave him was that she didn't believe him. He ran his card again and was approved.It took her 10 minutes to check him in. We waited until 3:00 the time we could check in. Our room wasn't cleaned yet. Why at 3;00 wasn't the room clean. The shade in our room wouldn't go down, had to take it inch by inch down, it took about 5-6 pulls to get it down.

The breakfast worker was unapproachable, grumpy and flustered. our cold drinks were in warm glasses. The food was inedible. paid a lot for it and left it on the table. The kid (boy) didn’t crack a smile or respond to “good morning” or “thank you”. Rude

I was disappointed with the room that we were given. We had reserved a room with a King Size Bed. We were given a room with two Queen Beds. The hotel employee told us this was because we used a third party to book our room. Not sure we will use Booking.com again. Didn’t expect to get lesser service using the site. Because we only stayed two nights we did not get any housekeeping services.

Managements quick turnaround when we showed them the room wasn't clean #105. The bed was made from the night before. Food and popcorn on the floor by both beds. We were moved to #103. Much better.

The toilets in room #105 & #103 have an off plumbing order. The toilets are not seal or leveled.

The room was large and the beds were exceptional. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay and the location was very convenient. Breakfast was AMAZING! After a transatlantic flight, this was a very comfortable stay.

Everything was comfortable and we couldn't think of anything we didn't like.

Everything was great. It was the staff and the breakfast that put it over the top. The whole building was well kept and nicely decorated. And the location was quiet, scenic and great for bird watching! We were very happy and would definitely recommend!

I can not think of one single thing.

1. Coffee maker did not function correctly 2. The bathroom had a foul order throughout our stay 3. The shower door slides open when showering and water ends up on the tiled floor outside shower

Good location, easy free parking. Extremely friendly front desk. Good breakfast options as always. Nice and quiet at night.

Dbl. Queen bedroom was a little tight. Lightbulbs in the room were bright white. I prefer warmer light in a bedroom. Felt a bit like hospital/school lighting lol. Bathroom while clean was a little worn, esp around the walk-in shower. Only expected more because in my experience Hampton Inn's are exceptionally clean. Maybe this one was a bit older then most I've stayed at.
