Sonesta Select Detroit Novi

We knew we weren't going to be in our room very much on this trip. It was just a short visit with family, 2 nights. So we booked a very affordable hotel and that is what we were expecting. You know what I mean when I say "affordable"... The Sonesta in Novi far exceeded our expectations. The staff was warm and friendly, the property was clean and well maintained. And our mattress. It was AMAZING. I have never slept so well in a hotel in all my years of travel. We are planning a return trip to Michigan in August and we will definitely stay here again when we're in the Detroit area.

breakfast was grab and go and was perfect for us. the location was great. near so many things to do, shopping and restaurants. Perfect for our stay.

Our television only got two channels. We were told the first night we couldn't be moved because other guests were still arriving. We were moved to another room the next morning. We fell we should have been moved the first night. Morning staff took care of it right away- greatly appreciated.

The location was outstanding! In a huge shopping center, with everything you could need or want, also literally around the corner from a Walmart. Everyone found somewhere to go in the immediate area.

They had absolutely NO breakfast. No "grab an go", no box cereal and milk, or bananas and apples, nothing - though it WAS advertised as having breakfast. An oversight that could be easily corrected online – at least then I would have been prepared for paying for a few more family meals during our stay. Also, not a huge deal, bit they don't have microwave's in the room, so no warm leftovers from all the yummy restaurants we found in the area.

The restaurant. They charge for breakfast but it appears to be microwave food. Cable tv only really works in the lobby. The available channels in the room are local stations

It was a nice place. We woke up with no power. Some of the emergency lights on our floor (4th floor) weren’t working so it was very dark. We didn’t get any notice or info from the hotel just woke up and realized on our own. Had to pack up with just light from the window and it was so HOT in there. Thankfully there were ladies working on our floor so we had assistance getting our luggage for a family of 6 down ALL THE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS!!!!

I didn't know what to aspect because the last few hotel I rented a room wasn't so clean but this hotel was really clean and I liked the location it was close to a lot of shopping places and restaurants

The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is that they didn't have microwave in any other rooms

Staff was great! I did have a complaint but we were moved to another room on the same floor. Didn't have to wait either, once I made the complaint, there was a resolution

In our 1st room, the shower wasn't completely clean and shower liner had mildew. Our 2nd room was great. I appreciate not having to stay in that room

The room was neat and clean, reasonable and close to where I was working. Convenient to restaurants and services.

I know there is a covid restriction on cleaning rooms, but there could be some place to empty your trash cans on a regular basis as it does accumulate during a week long stay.

Check-in staff were great, very friendly and helpful but the morning staff were not.

When we asked why the door to the outside lounge (smoking) area was locked the morning desk person’s reply was “you can smoke out front “ It was raining and there was not a covered smoking area out front so not very convenient or helpful.

The women at the front desk were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And the location was great.

The boys said one of the beds had a funky smell in a spot.
