Pear Tree Inn St. Louis Airport

Front desk staff were pleasant and professional upon both check in and check out. The king bed and pillows were very comfortable. My guest room (314) was very clean. The evening reception of snacks and drinks was a welcome surprise. Especially enjoyed the morning breakfast with a nice variety of foods. Asked at the front desk for an extra blanket and it was delivered to my room within five minutes! I didn't use the airport shuttle service, but that is a convenience to offer. The lobby, hallways and breakfast area were clean and well-maintained with no funky "hotel smell." Ate dinner at the BBQ place next door. It was very good. The price was affordable. Paid $90 + taxes. Liked the decor in the room, on the more modern side. The walk-in shower with eco-friendly dispensers was nice. Will definitely stay again!

Honestly, there was nothing my husband or I were displeased about. Only thing better would've been a free night's stay! 😉

Shuttle from the airport, I called the number on the website, informed person that shuttle is needed from airport, waited for 1 hour, never came, sent massage thought Booking.com, nothing, had to use shuttle from neighboring hotel (Marriott). When I finally arrived to hotel, they informed me that information was not passed to them from reservation service! They should have direct phone to contact hotel about shuttle assistance.

Location was perfect, next to the airport and major roads, but didn’t experience a lot of airport noise. The free shuttle service from the airport was such a helpful thing after a day of travel. The gated parking was easy to use and had plenty of spaces. The breakfast selection was good and had something for everyone. Bed was comfortable and came with plenty of pillows.

The water pressure in the shower was pretty weak. We were staying on the 4th floor so maybe that had something to do with it? I felt clean after my showers but like either stronger pressure or the option to have a hand held shower head in addition to the stationary one. The rooms didn’t get partially cleaned during the stay so we accumulated some trash throughout the days and weren’t sure if we could leave them out in the hallway.

The staff was lovely. The woman who checked me in was wonderful. I arrived a few hours before check in and she didn’t think she’d have a room available but she found one for me. I was attending a wedding 30mins away at 4pm so 3pm check in was cutting it a bit fine for me. Thankfully she found a room and checked me in so I could get ready and be in time for the wedding. The room itself was really lovely! The facilities were incredible! I was warned about the noise from the lift by the woman at reception but to be honest, I didn’t notice it one bit, the room seemed soundproof. I had to go to the airport before 5am the next morning and the shuttle was great to have. The driver was really pleasant and friendly and a great help for me with my cases. I wish I’d stayed my whole St. Louis trip in this hotel instead of moving during the trip. I’ll definitely stay here whenever I return to St. Louis.

The only criticism I could have, and it’s only minor, is that breakfast wasn’t served until 6am so I missed out on it. My flight was originally meant to be later but the airline moved it up so I didn’t get the pleasure of trying the Pear Tree breakfast, and what made it worse was I’d read reviews from people raving about the breakfast which had me looking forward to it. It’s not the hotel’s fault, it was just disappointing.

We had to book this hotel last minute after a flight cancelation meant we were stuck overnight in St. Louis. I couldn't have asked for a better contingency hotel to spend the night in! I really appreciated the hotel shuttle that regularly runs between the hotel and the airport, and it was nice to have a pantry in the hotel's lobby where we could buy dinner since we weren't able to eat at the airport (options are limited but is better than nothing!). It was also nice to have microwaves and fridges in the rooms. The rooms were a good size, the beds were comfortable, and I thought the lobby area was beautiful (I loved the giant chandelier and the fact that every floor looked out onto it).

The facility's location in proximity to the St. Louis Airport is the primary selling point. Additional positive features include the reasonable price and the motel's willingness to allow on-site parking while customers are away on a trip. The Pear Tree is our 'Go-To' option when we have to travel via air from St. Louis.

The breakfast buffet line was not being attended to by staff. I visited the breakfast area about mid-way through the posted time it was open and found that some warming trays were empty. I chose not wander over to the motel receptionist to inquire or to complain. I don't know where the attendant was at the moment, but he/she was not doing their job to the standard I would expect.

From the front, and even in the parking lot on the side, you might not suspect this hotel would be as nice as it is inside, but it was honestly excellent. Eileen, who checked us in, was genuinely one of the most pleasant people I've come across at a front desk and all the other staff I encountered were friendly. The lobby/lounge/breakfast area was gorgeous. Lots of windows and beautiful light fixtures. The view isn't the best, but it honestly doesn't even matter. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Even with carpet, it felt truly clean. For a continental breakfast, it was honestly great. We didn't really use the amenities, but the BBQ place next door is great!

The parking lot set up was a little strange. The lot was gated, but the entrance was always open. You needed a key to exit; I feel like, if anything, you should need a key to get in, but this did not have a negative impact on our experience.

Due to the brick walls and solid Construction of this older building, I have a feeling it is usually quiet, even if there were obnoxious disrespectful people next to you (*which are many these days but we didn't chance upon either of our 2 stays). Didn't hear a sound in any hall! This is MUCH better than a newer and more posh building and room type, where, while perhaps making you feel good about yourself, are superficially constructed and don't provide noise insulation or real value. Analogous to the values of today's society

Nothing. Mostly great. And quiet. Bed a bit firm

I needed to return to Missouri quickly on the occasion of a death in the family. I arrived from my overseas flights late in the evening, quite exhausted from the travel and jet lag. Once I was able to contact the hotel to ask for a shuttle ride, everything went as smoothly as one could ask for. Ditto for making arrangements for departing the next morning on the next leg of the trip. The room was perfectly clean, spacious and enjoyable. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and efficient. Just what I needed - most especially under unusually demanding circumstances.

I simply found nothing to complain about. This is quite something. Because of the strains of travel and jet lag, I am typically rather grouchy and irritable the first day or two back in the States. But I found nothing in the experience with the hotel to irritate me. Believe me, this is exceptional.
